WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama on Wednesday expressed frustration with the way the Senate does business, saying the use of delaying tactics there harms the nation's ability to "deal with big problems in a very competitive world."
"Other countries are going to start running circles around us," Obama said in a White House interview with PBS. "We're going to have to return to some sense that governance is more important than politics inside the Senate."
Obama's critique of his former Senate colleagues came just as his allies there were on the cusp of giving him what he wants: passage of a Senate health care bill.
The bare-minimum bloc of 60 senatorsall 58 Democrats and two independentsvoted to end a GOP filibuster and move toward final passage Thursday.
Obama said the use of that vote-stalling tactic, which requires 60 votes to cut off debate, has been imposed in an "unheard of" routine fashion. He said it's problematic regardless of which party controls the White House and Congress, but conceded that, as president, he doesn't have much power to do anything about it.
As for the health care bill, the version the Senate is expected to pass must still be reconciled with a House-passed measure.
Obama pledged to take a hands-on role in reconciling the two.

Well if the “kenyan in chief” is unhappy and wants to show his anger, he can just go and push a chain in the Kenyan Sand.
That will keep his busy for a while

Gee I thought he was going to delay until February.
As I said, just another distraction.
It is going to be so sweet when this arrogant ahole falls smack on his smug face.

Everything this man says is such a baldfaced lie. His hypocrisy leaves me breathless...of course that's usually because I'm yelling at the TV.

If he’s not whining, he’s gloating. He is a shame to the nation.

I agree with the gist of what you say. Obama definitely acts on behalf of Big Business at the expense of medium and small businesses. With banking, he has been able in one year to do away with more small banks than the Big Banks were able to do in two decades. And with this health care bill, he will do the same with the pharmaceutical firms.
Barack Obama is not a communist. He is most definitely a fascist. He gives the pretense of private ownership while at the same time dictates to and controls the factors of production.

Obamacare is not governance. It is politics writ large. Yes, let’s enact all the things that fail in other countries. We already lead the World in nationalized automotive production.

Hmmm. Let's see now. Obamalamadingdong doesn't like filibusters that “slow down” the process. What a buffoon this man is. That is exactly what filibusters are for; to create time for thoughtful reconsideration. And the dumba$$ doesn't even realize without the filibuster not a single one of those sweetheart deals the Democrats got from Dingy Harry would have ever come about. My Lord, can he show us anymore ignorance before he realizes that when he gives interviews he reveals his total lack of understanding of the legislative process. Damn it, he ain't Dictator for Life yet.

No martyrs, no U2 songs dedicated to him, no monuments, no streets named after him, No Spike Lee movies. I want him to live to 2012, get beat solidly and then who cares, let him drop off the face of the earth. And to not be PC his whole Huxtuble pretentious family too. I don’t wanna see any of their faces anymore.

“unheard of” routine fashion. Focus group must have told him to lay off the “unprecedented”.

"Other countries are going to start running circles around us," Isn't that the goal of you and the anti-American Leftists?
Oh, I get it, it was OK when the left wasn't in power, but now you are in power and you want to throw a tantrum...
