Obama vents frustration at Senate delays

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama on Wednesday expressed frustration with the way the Senate does business, saying the use of delaying tactics there harms the nation's ability to "deal with big problems in a very competitive world."

"Other countries are going to start running circles around us," Obama said in a White House interview with PBS. "We're going to have to return to some sense that governance is more important than politics inside the Senate."

Obama's critique of his former Senate colleagues came just as his allies there were on the cusp of giving him what he wants: passage of a Senate health care bill.

The bare-minimum bloc of 60 senators—all 58 Democrats and two independents—voted to end a GOP filibuster and move toward final passage Thursday.

Obama said the use of that vote-stalling tactic, which requires 60 votes to cut off debate, has been imposed in an "unheard of" routine fashion. He said it's problematic regardless of which party controls the White House and Congress, but conceded that, as president, he doesn't have much power to do anything about it.

As for the health care bill, the version the Senate is expected to pass must still be reconciled with a House-passed measure.

Obama pledged to take a hands-on role in reconciling the two.

This dork has no business being anywhere near an executive position, much less President.

He despises “The People” and would like more than anything to be the dictator ...

Typical AP article:

Obama says this...unchallenged.
Obams says that...unchallenged.
Obama wants this...unchallenged.
Obama wants that...unchallenged.
Obama accused Republicans of this...unchallenged.
Obama accused Republicans of that...unchallenged.

yes, the Obamanation has no respect for or understanding of the US Senate, which is no surprise considering that he barely learned to find the bathroom when he was there......

also, how absurd is his invocation of other countries that will “run circles around us” if we dont’ hurry and succumb to all of the Obama program? Can any sane person believe that Obama knows ANYTHING about making the USA more competitive, more successful in the world, whether in economic or any other terms???????

Everyone of Obama’s ilk stands for weakening America: our economy, our military, our cultural “confidence”..... his real beliefs are about kissing up to the worst elements of humanity............

He doesn’t understand a thing about America’s greatness and in fact he is hostile to the very idea of America as exceptional.....

Obama voted to filibuster Sam Alito- the first time in history a President voted to filibuster a Supreme Court nominee.

The Coward n Chief means he will get his boyz to get rid of the 60 vote closure rule, with a vote of 51. Then from then on its 51 votes to pass anything ...full speed ahead over the cliff.

But he is still worried about Larry Sinclair

, as president, he doesn't have much power to do anything about it.

Right. He doesn't have the power to actually dump boxes of taxpayer dollars in the laps of recalcitrant senators. All he can do is twist the arms of others so they do it.

Yes, and the method of taking focus off the health-care bill will be to get us frothing at the mouth about the upcoming jobs bill. It will serve two purposes simultaneously: overwhelming us and appeasing his far-left fan club that have been screaming about jobs.

"....egggszackly, he’s a gangsta...."

Well,Bill Clinton was/is a gangsta too (Dixie Mafia)...and certainly had dirty hands long before he came to office and certainly afterward...

But Clinton at least is a lot smoother and smarter than this POS. Clinton knew when the jig was up (welfare reform).

This prick just keeps going and going.
