Cornyn: Conservatives 'have to yield' to reality in upcoming Senate races (*BARF*)

Conservative primary voters "have to yield" to reality, Senate Republicans' campaign chairman said Wednesday.

Sen. John Cornyn (Texas), the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), suggested that conservatives need to have a more realistic sense of which races are winnable and with which candidates.

"Folks on the right, and frankly I'm one of them in terms of voting record, have to yield to the world as it is and not necessarily how they wish it would be," Cornyn told Reuters for a story about centrist Rep. Mike Castle's (R) bid for Senate next year in Delaware.

Belying Cornyn's jab is the battle in which the conservative Texas senator has been locked with party activists over the past few months.

Conservative bloggers like RedState's Erick Erickson have been consummate critics of Cornyn for having recruited candidates like Gov. Charlie Crist (R) in Florida's Senate race over a conservative darling, former state House Speaker Marco Rubio (R). The NRSC's decision to help former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina raise money, while California Assemblyman Chuck DeVore hasn't received (or requested) support in the GOP race for California's Senate seat, as well as other primary endorsements, has led to Cornyn battling Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) and his Senate Conservatives Fund in recent weeks, as well.

Cornyn pointed to his recruitment of Castle, a centrist Republican in a state where statewide offices have generally been controlled by Democrats, as an example of the NRSC facing reality.

"The world as it is in Delaware is that if Mike Castle didn't run, Beau Biden would be the next senator from Delaware," Cornyn said, pointing to Vice President Joe Biden's son, the state's attorney general and a likely 2010 Democratic candidate against Castle.

The current reality is that democrats have ignored their voters, bribed and stolen votes in the congress, have a president with no morals and little experience and deserve to be defeated....

Castle is an empty suit that has worked ONE year in private practice. The rest of his life he has been living off of the taxpayers. No principles; no beliefs; bought and paid for by BofA.

Yield? Thanks to the likes of Cornyn we have ‘yielded’ everything to the left! When do conservatives get a bone thrown to them?? NEVER, that’s when.

Do remember, Cornyn was the one who introduced a bill year after year to form up a North American Union, until he was caught doing it.

Senate Bill 2941.
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c108:S.2941:

Highlights:

SEC. 3. PURPOSES.

The purposes of the Fund shall be—

(1) to promote economic and infrastructure integration among Canada, Mexico, and the United States;

(2) to promote education and economic development in Mexico; and

(3) to reduce the wealth gap between Mexico and Canada, and between Mexico and the United States.

More:

SEC. 4. PROJECTS FUNDED.

(a) IN GENERAL- The Fund shall make grants for projects to carry out the purposes described in section 3, including projects—

(1) to construct roads in Mexico to facilitate trade between Mexico and Canada, and Mexico and the United States;

(2) to develop and implement post-secondary education programs in Mexico;

(3) to install telecommunications technologies throughout Mexico; and

(4) to construct other infrastructure that will carry out such purposes.

More:

SEC. 5. CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE FUND.

(a) IN GENERAL- The terms of the agreement establishing the Fund shall, subject to the limitation in subsection (b), require the Governments of Canada, Mexico, and the United States to contribute to the Fund.

And this: “ like the Cornyn-Shadegg SKIL bill (known to engineers as the KILL bill), which could import 1.5 million underpaid H-1B workers by 2013. “http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d109:s.02691:

It’s not the way we would wish it to be, because of spineless wimps like this guy. Woe is me, I have to be more like the Democrats, even though I really don’t want to.

Is there like a vat or something where they turn out these pricks.

I have been with him on many things in the past. But this is another example of where we part ways. he is better than KBH and can be the conservative that is needed.

However, that said, he does move of point in his desire to not press a point too fully.

Press on! Push on! Shove it down the throats of the Dems and the Left.

The best thing to do is choose your candidates, either in your state or outside and give directly to them. Starve the RNC and the rest of the crap party stuff.

The "reality" is the 'San Francisco Democrats - a tiny minority of radical crypto-marxists - are leading the country.

Thanks for the "leadership", senator.

The Republican Party is not the Conservative Party. The RNC is about winning elections. However, they would do well to heed the mood of the People who are yelling for less government and not a return to the era of Bush, Hastert, Delay, Lott and Frist.

Mike Castle is too old. This is another problem with the Stupid Party. They run these retread dinosaurs and expect conservatives to support them.

Biden Jr. will win in a landslide

Dear Mr Cornyn,

“RINO’s NEED TO YIELD TO REALITY”

You are cheap, easy to find, and not worth what you get paid once you reach DC and become ineffective. We want better. We deserve better. We are willing to work and wait for better. Don't insult our intelligence by telling us the American 2-party system is so far gone, all we can choose from is dumb, or dumber. /p>

You are more responsible for the problems of this nation than are the democrats because they are, well, democrats and don't claim to have any fixed values or morals.

If your idea of leadership is becoming part of a collegial group that focuses on going along to get along, join the Rotary Club

Sincerely,
a conservative who will donate by the race directly to the candidate - or not

No. We don't.

And as a conservative I will not contribute to the RNC. I will only contribute to individuals who uphold my values. If the RNC ever wants my vote, they can have it by running conservatives but I will never again vote for a RINO.

Um its the RINOS that need to yield to the reality that Conservatives make or break the GOP; so you better put up people we can vote for.

Don't go putting up Scozzafava RINOy type candidates, and then claim we have to yield to your made up reality. Play to the base or lose.

Yes, biden will win. He will ride into the senate as the son of a vp and a military veteran, even though he’s been a politician then joined the Nat’l Guard. That was a smart move on his part.
