Can Sarah Palin lead US Republicans to victory?
ABC ^ | 12-21-09 | Michael Brissenden

The expansive asphalt parking lot in Fair Lakes Shopping Center in Fairfax Virginia was full and there wasn't a single Prius in sight. This is SUV territory and the campaign sticker on the back window of one big Ford summed up the mood: a play on the Obama campaign mantra of hope, this one said simply - "Nope".

There are not too many Obama fans in Fairfax but there are hundreds of people prepared to line up for hours in the snow for a chance to meet the one political figure they believe might still be able to rescue the nation from "socialised medicine", "Liberal intellectuals" and "elitist" newspapers like the New York Times.

Sarah Palin's book Going Rogue is the publishing sensation of the moment here.

I believe she had fallen to the mid-fifties shortly before her resignation as governor; an approval rating in the fifties for a Republican governor in a very red state, isn't all that remarkable.”

And hoe is 0bozo’s ratings doing after only 11 months in power then?
Daily Presidential Tracking Poll (December 21, 2009: Dear Reader is at -17)
He'd kill to get Sarah Palin’s rating after 2 1/2 years, in only his 11th month in power.

I kept hearing that he didn’t have a chance”

You kept hearing from who exactly?
As far as I can recall, 0bozo was ahead of McCain in nearly every poll in head to heads throughout 2008.
The only time McCain went significantly ahead was after Sarah Palin’s rousing speech at the RNC convention. After that, the market collapse of mid-September and McCain's stupid vote for the bailout just finished him off.
His poll numbers today, are far worse than his poll numbers when he won in November 2008, and even in January when he was as high as close to 70% approval. He'd kill to get numbers like that today.

Welcome to FR.

OldDeck posts on all Sarah threads - trashing her and known for his name calling. It has talking points - not interested in the truth, it has an agenda and it’s not promoting conservatism.

It’s time for some house deck cleaning.

Of course she can. No one energizes Republican voters like Sarah Palin does, plus she is now running 50/50 amongst independents. That's all she would need to win.

okay... but i don't think so... it don't believe she can make it happen... will i vote for her? ya betcha! i still don't see it happening... but i can be wrong...

I agree. That’s what I meant by obsessed - they really get their pampers twisted. Then there are the others, I like her but.... They each have their own ‘transparent’ dance.

Either someone is for conservatism or they aren’t. Sarah certainly can separate the wheat from the chaff for us here on FR. Just the mention of her name - their world stops - and trashing Sarah takes over.

Sounds like being in league with Satan(aka George Soros) to me.

I second that Joe. It needs some smokin' out, IMO.

Can Sarah Palin win?

You betcha!

I might add, who thought the son of a Kenyan Communist Muslim could win?

The real question is: Can the Republicans be lead to victory? They avoid it the way Tiger Woods avoids Black women.

“I kept hearing again and again how hussien wasn’t going to win last time”

Yeah? Where did you hear that, when every poll had the Kenyan beating Juan McCain by wide margins?

I, for one, did not and still do not believe the Kenyan was ever ahead in the polls, or that he actually received the majority of the popular vote or electoral vote.

Registration fraud, voter fraud, the Secretary of States project, the exclusion of military ballots in numerous states, the list goes on. It was rigged forty ways from Sunday.

Yeah, we agree. Remain vigilant.

I thought he was done after the Rev. Wright stuff came to light, as well. I think the media is starting to peal away from Obama, probably not as much as we'd like. I think a few of them are embarrassed by the poor coverage, regardless of the fact that they might agree with his failing policies. They look like utter morons and rubes and they don't like that.

The other thing is that tour average American citizen is actually figuring out alternative news sources, since the MSM is such an obvious joke. While I am a news junkie, my wife has always been totally unaware of politics. Now she groans in pain every time she hears about Zero and his screwed up gubermint. I think there are a few more voters like that around today than there were last year.

Many indies and mods have fled Obama ~ and have since been called racist, per the playbook ~ that ain't exactly going to bring them back.

Worst case scenario is the Dems try to steal seats next fall ~ what are the odds? ~ this will lead to armed rebellion in the streets. Unless, of course, they try to make the big “gun grab” before that time, in which case that will already be here.

The GOP establishment - including conservative stalwart Limbaugh - picked Romney last year

..I don't really remember Rush "picking" Romney. I do remember Laura Ingraham's temporary infatuation.

The latest conservative\tea party counter-revolution is not a top down movement anyway, thankfully. Media personalities are only a good thing if they support what we (the grassroots) believe in...

“fix the absentee ballot system. We absolutely need to have every serviceman and woman participating. The absentee ballot has been a sham and a shambles for years, we can’t let them not be counted and elections stolen anymore. NO MORE!!!”

I agree.

I still don’t think she can win.

You have no idea who can win, but you know Sarah can’t. What part of obvious do you think you aren’t?

Please attempt to act more grown up. Your reply is probably the most childish reply I’ve ever gotten on Free Republic.

No, I do not know who could win. I am not so sure that Sarah is the best chance republicans have to remove hussein. That’s just the way I feel and I do not need your approval to feel that way.

I won’t be told how to think by you or anyone else. It would be very shallow to think that you can influence people that way. Not thinking would make me like a democrat.

Your “What part of obvious do you think you aren’t?” comment makes you look like some kind of conspiracy nut. You don’t know enough about me to know if I have an agenda or not.

My first opportunity to vote in a national election was 1980. I PROUDLY voted for Ronald Reagan and I’ve voted republican 100% of the time since then. Republicans have had some lame candidates and I just don’t want to see that happen again in 2012.

I don’t think Huckabee or Ron Paul could win either. I am also not so sure about Newt, Rommey, and several of the other possible candidates. What does that mean? It means that I don’t have the confidence I would like to have in many of the candidates being mentioned. It doesn’t mean anything more than that.

If Sarah is the nominee, she will without a doubt get my vote. I think very highly of her — much more so than I do john mcLame. I am just not so sure she would be the best chance we have at removing hussein from office.

That’s just my opinion — nothing more, nothing less.
