The founder of the website "Free Republic", Jim Robinson, has joined a growing boycott of the CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) due to a homosexual activist group sponsoring the event.
GOProud, a group that advocates same-sex "marriage," a repeal of the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy, and "expanding access to domestic partner benefits" for homosexuals, is listed as a sponsor of the event at CPAC's website.
Mr. Robinson has joined a number of conservative activists including Liberty University Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr., Liberty Counsel founder and chairman Mat Staver, and Gary Glenn, president of the American Family Association of Michigan in their efforts.
On a reply to an article about the boycott, Mr. Robinson stated "Ill join that boycott. If CPAC is no longer for conservative family values then I want nothing to do with them. Theyll have to change their name to HOMOPAC."
I seriously doubt any of the non-confirmed invitees will agree to appear at this late date, and you can’t rules out that some of the confirmed speakers may decide to withdraw.
Thanx for the ping! Nice thread.
They are A sponsor not THE sponsor. All they have to do is return the money. Should be easy enough.
The big tent theory is what has driven many true conservatives AWAY from the Republican Party!!!! And CPAC director Lisa De Pasquale doesn’t seem to be changing her not-so-astute mind:
“On Tuesday evening, CPAC director Lisa De Pasquale replied to Barber’s concern that GOProud represents a “radical leftist agenda,” countering that CPAC is a coalition of conservative groups, “many of which may disagree with one another on some issues.” And despite the fact that GOProud was founded by a former member of the Log Cabin Republicans — a pro-homosexual group — De Pasquale describes GOProud as a group that “promotes our traditional conservative agenda” — i.e., an emphasis on limited government, individual liberty, free markets, and a confident foreign policy. For that reason, she concludes, GOProud should not be turned away as a CPAC sponsor.”

I think "FUDGEPAC" is already taken.............
I think when the fags saw the word “PAC”, they thought it meant some thing else..
CPAC is a joke and so is the GOP...both of them have led us all here to the CO2mmunist rule of OblamaBush!!!!
ROFL...very good...disgusting but very funny!!!
lol
GAYPAC sounds funny, lol.
Jim has my support - Solid Conservatives need to be running CPAC... Absolute NO to certain current sponsors.
Allowing WHACKO groups to be a sponsor of CPAC is a path to ruin...
Didn’t Governor Palin turn down her invitation to CPAC?
Fudge PAC
LOL, that is pretty funny.
What is going on here exactly? Bookmark for research tomorrow.
LOL!
WTH are they doing consorting with an avowed homo organization? Are they really stupid enough to think the queers are horning in because they support conservative values?
CPAC lost me at the 2008 event when they allowed McCain’s people to pack the room for his speech after Mitt Romney dropped out of the race.
While those wo had actually paid to attend CPAC went to lunch, busloads of McCain-friendly college students were admitted. When the people who had paid to attend CPAC returned from lunch, the fire marshal (supposedly) had closed the ballroom and refused to let the true CPAC attendees back into the room.
Not only that, a couple of McCainiac minions threatened the lady siting next to me because she had the audacity to hold up a Romney sign during McCain’s speech. Outrageous!
I don’t care to ever attend CPAC again This GOProud issue only cements my decision. Shame on you, David Keene!
CPAC has been renting booth space to the ACLU for years.
Gays make up what, 2-4% of the population, 6% tops. Even if they are 5% gays are overwhelmingly liberal.
How many gay conservatives could there be to justify giving a homosexual group a sponsorship role in the best known conservative convention?
This is like a Bible Store refusing to say Merry Christmas.
The definition of kooks is, "one whose ideas or actions are eccentric, fantastic, or insane : screwball".
Since its inception the John Birch Society has been a fringe extremist organization. Historically, the JBS is a group of conspiracy paranoiacs. The JBS founder, Robert Welch, called President Eisenhower a communist stooge. That prompted Bill Buckley and Russell Kirk to renounce the JBS. Even Goldwater eventually backed away from the JBS. Btw, JBS even opposed Reagan's campaigns for Governor and President.
Frankly, I see no difference between the JBS and other fringe extremist groups promoting minanarchy, anarchy, libertarianism, paleolibertarianism, southern confederate rebel secessionism, 150 year old Dixiecrat-Slavocrat agenda, anti war, anti Semitic agendas. JBS has ties to some of todays best known fringe wackos like Ron Paul, Thomas DiLorenzo and Lew Rockwell. Along with the late and infamous Reagan hater, Murry Rothbard.
What say you?
