I have a sick feeling that Ahmadinejad is going to be making trouble Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

This nonsense has been going on for years in that exact area. A friend of mine who was the driller on a rig in that area back in 1980 or 81 had to abandon the site when the war broke out. They have been disputing that area ever since.
However, I would live to see where the fracking of this well actually took place. At 500 meters, there is a good chance that it took place under Iranian territory.

This sounds like an area where Iran can crank up the tension any time they want - probably good for a couple of dollars increase in each barrel of oil on the world market for awhile. Obama will do nothing and Iraq probably doesn't have the means to really do anything. However, displayed weakness will provoke more of the same. The real solution to all of the Iranian problems is overthrowing the Mullahocracy.

The US will respond to this in the very same manner as it has each time the same thing has happened during the last six years.

No problem. Put a bunch of Iraqi wells on more defensible territory close by and then use the patented Daniel Plainview technique of "DRAINAGE" via long straw milkshake sucking of the disputed wells.

This reminds me of the old game Okies play where the throw a hand grenade across the Red River and we pull the pin and throw it back... all in good fun.

As an “Occupying Power/Nation-State,” we have a long-standing, well-recognised legal duty to look after the affairs of Iraq, protect the people, their property, their interests and their re-emerging sovereignty.
We have a legal duty to expel the Iranians post haste.
Wanna bet it happens?

Don’t pick on Okies: :)
Back in 68, our Battalion Commander at Ft. Sill was an OU grad/football player.
The night before The Game, in a fully prepared and rehersed military-like manouver, we painted over a huge billboard on I-35 just south of the Red River in a bright red base coat.
In huge white letters, we the painted letters on the sign to read; “Welcome to Baja Oklahoma.”
It was repainted over within 24 hours, but not before the damage was done. It was seen by everyone going to The Game from Norman, OKC, Tulsa, etc.
Big picture the front page of the Sunday Dallas Morning News!
I later wore out a few pairs of cowboy boots in Texas, but Lordy, that was fun!

The way the Iranian dictatorship is acting, you may very well be correct.
Ahmadinejad must attempt to refocus the freedom demanding general public on 'external enemies'.

UH-OH... That’s not good... What’s Obama going to do now??? They didn’t even WAIT for us to leave! One thing I can say about the Mullahs and their puppet DinnerJacket - they are like sharks and they smell weakness as though it were blood in the water...
Obama needs to back off and let Israel do her job - NOW - before it gets any worse...

Understood, and thanks for pointing that out. The thing is even if it has been going on for years, the current world climate makes it a bigger deal, wouldn’t you agree? Iran is getting way too big for its britches!

You’re right of course, however I highly doubt Obama will do what he should... Have to say that I don’t like “Occupying” part of your statement, but then I guess it’s the liberal propaganda that has made that a “dirty” word...

That previous times this has happened, the Iranians left in a rather short amount of time. However, if they do not exit soon this time, it will have to be the Iraqi Army that gets them out.
Any action in this matter by the US would make the Iraqis look week and in the long run would be bad for the US and very bad for the legitimacy of the current Iraqi government.
