What do we do if Deathcare passes?

Posted on 12/18/2009 10:59:19 AM PST by hdbc

If this nightmare passes, what Alinsky, civil disobedience tactics can we use to overturn it? Voting these creeps out is only part of the solution. Even if we took control of congress in 2010, we would need a veto proof majority to overturn it. Unlikely, I suspect. We need to do what the libtards do when they want to undermine something. Any ideas out there?

It would be nice for a bunch of state governors to stand up and say “(State) will NOT comply with these illegal laws.”

the only obvious thing I can see is legal action to prevent a Federal mandate on the people that is unconstitutional. I am not real confident that judicial system will be real helpful, though.

It might take a supermajority to overturn it but it won’t take a supermajority to not fund it.

The precident for banning a coercion to purchase health care, which is a contract, is United States vs Reynolds. It draws on the 13th Amendment prohibition on Indentured Servitude. Straight to SCOTUS. This court will uphold Reynolds.

Also, look for a lot of income to start “disappearing” (John Galt style).

Smart Canadians save up their money to travel to America for important medical stuff. We will have to save up our money to go to overseas for what we used to get right here in the comfort of our own country.

First, doesn’t the amended bill go back to the House? If it doesn’t, and passes as is and goes to Obama, then the fallout is going to be interesting. The current bill mandates purchase of health insurance under penalty of law, but there is no public option. Therefore you have to buy from a private insurance company. Won’t this only strengthen private insurance, or are there other things in the bill to make things go the other way.

With 2000 plus pages, its frikken hard to know what is going to happen.

I know of one Governor (Rick Perry) who said they will do exactly that.

Rebellion.

4/15/10
Be there
Be belligerent
Be intimidating
Shut down Washington, DC. We can do it. We could have done it on 9/12, but we were (foolishly) trying to show we are civilized people who respect the law. We can make them fear us. DC simply does not have the manpower or the resources to do much of anything if 1.5 million of us get physical.

In addition, it is time to start forming formal, organized groups that, in mass, will refuse to buy government mandated “insurance”. Publicly and vocally and in your face. Think about it. What is DC going to do when 5 or 10 million people simply refuse to obey their “law”? Essentially, citizen nullification.

But this would have to be done early on to be effective.

Such nullification of federal laws is being considered by at least nineteen states

I cannot give permission to be killed by drugs if they won’t treat my condition.
I will have to go home and live with the pain.

I’m preparing myself to suffer and leave my family so they won’t see it. I’m guessing to a bridge or box.

It doesn’t look very cheery.

Any federal version of health care is unconstitutional since Article 1 Section 8 does not specifically grant Congress the power to regulate health care. The people are not bound by any unconstitutional act of Congress.

The people must respond with civil disobedience if Congress passes this unconstitutional legislation.

Pretty much anything they want. Like the IRS codes, anyone can be found to be in "noncompliance" somewhere if the bureaucrats so decide. It'll be great for petty government workers to get even.

If we could get enough people to just refuse to pay income taxes next April 15th they would get the message.

It would have to be a United effort, but they cannot jail us all.
