I literally got snowed in on the Canal Rd route out of Georgetown in the Blizzard of February ‘79.
Coming back from clubbing at 3AM.
Snow drifts across the freaking road...going 35mph in blinding snow. It was scary.
A guy stopped in a pickup and took us (2) home. We couldn’t find the car the next day....for hours. We thought it was gone.

10 minutes from Mass, 10 min from RI...beautiful area. Lake down the road, 400 acres behind us, fishing down the street, lots of venison and wild turkeys...the boonies!

Sturgeon Bay, WI got 18” during the December 7th storm, with Green Bay getting 16”. Madison also got 18-20”. They were up and running the next day.
To you guys in DC... Good Luck.
BTW, the NWS is predicting even more global warming to fall here in WI Christmas Eve and Day. They are saying that this one could be larger than the last one here.

Blizzard of February 79.
Went 4-wheelin' in my Jeep on the VA Beltway. We stopped on the American Legion bridge and had a snowball fight (try that today). In broad daylight, there wasn't another vehicle in sight.

That big blizzard early this month that came out of Kalifornia dumped some incredible amounts of snow. Here are top records by state. That blizzard was the second big one this season. It followed the first one which came down into Central Texas and then went up the east coast. This one starting tonight looks to be the third Super Blizzard this season.

Snow fall amounts are in inches.

I live in Roanoke. I just measured out my back door. 13” and counting. Not supposed to stop till tomorrow afternoon.

Local news weatherman, Bob Ryan (WRC-TV) claims a 60% chance of 24 inches here in the DC area. That puts us up around Iron County, WI.
I’ve been in Iron County, WI during a January not too many years ago. They can handle it up there. We’re bad at it here on the DC beltway.
All of the regular news reporters have a gleeful tone about them on our local TV. It’s snow! In December, it’s snowing and Christmas is coming!
But Ryan, who is the best in the area IMHO, had a stern look on his face and called the storm “very serious”. He is obiously extremely concerned about it.
This thing is big. It’s really big, all the weathermen are saying it is “historic”. It’s not just a snow storm that we’re going to have fun in.
A “blizzard warning” has been issued for my county by the weather service. An area stretching from North Carolina to Long Island is going to be affected.
This is no joke...

Accuweather called this one a Super Blizzard. 24 inches is also about what Flagstaff Arizona got in Super Blizzard 2. I have been however to Ironwood Michigan. Camped out one night in the Lake of the Clouds (I think it was called). Very strange almost magical place. A wind breeze traveled around the lake inside the mountain valley all night. You could here it traveling around. The Lake was cold enough in spring to keep our beer very cold for us though.

Yep not a joke! A lot of people will be without electricty.
Just wondering if Dingy Harry has a generator to light and heat the Senate? I hope not.
