Local news weatherman, Bob Ryan (WRC-TV) claims a 60% chance of 24 inches here in the DC area. That puts us up around Iron County, WI.
I’ve been in Iron County, WI during a January not too many years ago. They can handle it up there. We’re bad at it here on the DC beltway.
All of the regular news reporters have a gleeful tone about them on our local TV. It’s snow! In December, it’s snowing and Christmas is coming!
But Ryan, who is the best in the area IMHO, had a stern look on his face and called the storm “very serious”. He is obiously extremely concerned about it.
This thing is big. It’s really big, all the weathermen are saying it is “historic”. It’s not just a snow storm that we’re going to have fun in.
A “blizzard warning” has been issued for my county by the weather service. An area stretching from North Carolina to Long Island is going to be affected.
