WASHINGTON -- A new study found that people who report more satisfaction with their lives live in states that score well on things like good schools, low crime and short commuting time, perhaps a first objective look at why some states are happier than others.

2. Hawaii

5. Arizona
(snip)

"Maui Wowie" is world-renowned. Must be the volcanic soil or something.
Ever try to buy a gallon of milk in Hawaii?
Tiger? Is that you?
Wow. Guess I didn’t realize I was so unhappy.
Of course, I’d be very happy if I lived in Hawaii.
That’s a no brainer! :0)
I would never have thought Indiana would be so far down that list, near the bottom.
Wow.
I moved from NY to FL, and the people here are poor and life can be hard. But we are run by Repubs, which means the government stays out of your life, the taxes are low, and the weather is nice. A lot less pressure than NY.
And why you have to be concerned that a little old lady will hit you, (it’s happened to me three times here) it’s amazing how much easy parking and wide lanes make a difference in your mood. Our airport in Tampa is actually nice to visit, and they don’t charge for parking.
51? What is this, Street Smarts?
DC.
Not to question it, but this is typical AP lousy reporting.
“A new study found that . . . .”
What new study? Who conducted it? Where was it published? Who sponsored it? What methods were used to obtain this information? What does it mean to be “happy”?
Not even the name of the people who did the study, or funded it, or where it was published.
New Yorkers just have high standards. ;-)
Really high cost of living out there, everything is shipped in, limited jobs.
I don’t think I’ve ever met a happy socialist in my life.
Yeah, we’re definitely way down here.
Well since Indiana is at #48 on the list I might want to move to Tennessee someday.
6 of the bottom 7 are all the most liberal and Rat infested states in the country.
But DC isn’t a state.
With the Saints at 13-0, everyone is happy. Conduct the survey again after the football season when folks will be focused on education, crime and the works and you will have a different outcome.
GEAUX SAINTS, beat the Cowgirls this weekend.
Do you live in WA state?
