Declaring that she was honored and proud to run with him, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin pushed back hard Wednesday against a report that she had disrespected Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) by blacking out his name on a sun visor she wore on vacation.
The website TMZ accused Palin of a frontal attack on Sen. John McCain during a Hawaii vacation this week: Sarah chose to wear a visor from her campaign -- a visor that was emblazoned with the former presidential candidate's name ... that is, until Palin redacted McCain's name with a black marker.
But Palin said in a statement to POLITICO that she was just trying to be incognito -- to go unrecognized and shield her children and husband, Todd, from paparazzi.
The hotel where she was staying had to chase away five photographers, a friend said.
Palin said in the statement to POLITICO: I am so sorry if people took this silly incident the wrong way. I adore John McCain, support him 100 percent and will do everything I can to support his reelection. As everyone knows, I was honored and proud to run with him. And Todd and I were with him in D.C. just a week ago. So much for trying to be incognito."
The Palins were taking a break from a three-and-a-half-week book tour for her million-copy-selling memoir, Going Rogue: An American Life. Palin has signed more than 59,000 books -- an average of 1,750 per stop -- and has traveled more than 19,000 miles by plane and bus. She has spent 115 hours -- or 4.8 days -- signing books in 33 cities in 25 states. Her stops have included five military bases.

I am completely on the fence. My main concern is that those promoting her promoted GW Bush in 2000(and they have million of followers). He was the hero that took Texas from the liberals in those days. I notice many of the current Palin fans are “Bush did a great job” believers. THAT REALLY SCARES ME!
I don't know what Palin is up to right now besides having fun and I am not that concerned right now. My window of interest of the 2012 election starts with the primary January 2011.
You have nothing to stand on. Refute what I posted with logic and reason, or go shopping.
Deranged Palin Worship Syndrome.
Nothing more, nothing less.
I’m sorry but you are not thinking logically.
You just keep repeating the same elementary thoughts redundantly.
There is nothing of substance to respond to that hasn’t already been refuted.
“There is nothing of substance to respond to that hasnt already been refuted.”
Go shopping .That is all you are good for.
Very mature.
That is called personalizing the argument btw.
It’s not considered a rational line of reasoning.
You have failed to refute a single, solitary thing in my post. If it has been “refuted” as you say, post it or get lost.
So, supporting my favorite candidate is equal to hero worship? I am supporting her 100%. Do I worship her? No, I worship Jesus Christ, Creator and Savior of the Universe. She does, too. She also has a beautiful son with Downs Syndrome, and a little "bastard" granddaughter. In addition, she has her eldest, who is dedicated to protecting my (and yours) ass in uniform service to our Country. She has three beautiful daughters, and a husband that makes Ahnold look like a sissy.
Margaret Thatcher? Sarah had something to say to her...
Birthday Wishes to Margaret Thatcher
Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 3:59pm
I would like to extend warm birthday wishes to Margaret Thatcher today. Baroness Thatcher continues to remain a role model to many people, particularly women, around the world. Her career is a collection of "firsts." She was the youngest female Conservative Party member to stand for election in history, she was the first woman to hold the title Leader of the Opposition, and she was the first woman to become Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
As Prime Minister, she took an active role in defending economic freedom and democratic ideals. Her push to privatize British industry and lower tax rates led to a substantial economic expansion in the United Kingdom. She was just as influential in foreign policy. Along with President Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II, Prime Minister Thatcher recognized the evil of Communism and worked tirelessly to erode the power and influence of the Soviet Union.
Her life and career serve as a blueprint for overcoming the odds and challenging the "status quo." She started life as a grocer's daughter from Grantham and rose to become Prime Minister - all by her own merit and hard work. I cherish the accomplishments of Margaret Thatcher and will always count her as one of my role models.
And, in the WSJ, John O'Sullivan in Dec.08:
Inevitably, Lloyd Bentsen's famous put-down of Dan Quayle in the 1988 vice-presidential debate is resurrected, such as by Paul Waugh (in the London Evening Standard) and Marie Cocco (in the Washington Post): "Newsflash! Governor, You're No Maggie Thatcher," sneered Mr. Waugh. Added Ms. Coco, "now we know Sarah Palin is no Margaret Thatcher -- and no Dan Quayle either!"
Jolly, rib-tickling stuff. But, as it happens, I know Margaret Thatcher. Margaret Thatcher is a friend of mine. And as a matter of fact, Margaret Thatcher and Sarah Palin have a great deal in common. ...
... Mrs. Palin has a long way to go to match this. Circumstances may never give her the chance to do so. Even if she gets that chance, she may lack Mrs. Thatcher's depths of courage, firmness and stamina -- we only ever know such things in retrospect.
But she has plenty of time, probably eight years, to analyze America's problems, recruit her own expert advice, and develop conservative solutions to them. She has obvious intelligence, drive, serious moral character, and a Reaganesque likability. Her likely Republican rivals such as Bobby Jindal and Mitt Romney, not to mention Barack Obama, have most of these same qualities too. But she shares with Mrs. Thatcher a very rare charisma. As Ronnie Millar, the latter's speechwriter and a successful playwright, used to say in theatrical tones: She may be depressed, ill-dressed and having a bad hair day, but when the curtain rises, out onto the stage she steps looking like a billion dollars. That's the mark of a star, dear boy. They rise to the big occasions. ...
In other news, I'm looking at the start of the weekend snow in eastern WV! At least I have FreeRepublic to keep me warm! It also keeps my BP at all time highs!
Sarah isn't perfect, and neither is JD Hayworth. He is skinny now, though. In the end, Arizona will elect whoever gets the most votes...
12/5 dusting. This weekend they're saying 6-12"

I agree with every word here. That is not enough, in and by itself to support her, no matter what she says or does.
I lived in Hun. WV as a small kid. Beatiful state.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.

“You have failed to refute a single, solitary thing in my post.”
Your posts don’t have any viable arguments that haven’t been refuted by others. Not one. Your irrationale and invalid thinking speaks for itself.
I’ll post a few if you desire. Your words speak volumes.
Here is one you said “nailed it”. Your words on this quote,
“myself and others sense she may be another big government compassionate conservative.”
A fine example of hyperbole and PDS.
Refute it.
I dont care who gave anybody anything. If she cannot stand up to a RINO traitor, she is without honor. Talk about staring reality in the face and denying it.
Anybody with an I Q over 80 can stand up to the left. As far as the establishment GOP is concerned, who the HELL is the leader?? McCain. I dont see her standing now!
Palins character is certainly not in question. At least not by anybody with any sense.
Her character as a mother, and to her husband is great. Im not looking for mom of the year.
Why is Sarah Pac donating money to the worst RINOs? Is that character? Why, after a dozen radio interviews does she refuse to state that she will not condone any form of amnesty? Even when a frustrated Lars Larson tried to stuff those very words into her mouth for her?
To the contrary, some are calling the Republican Party worthless and traitorous.
That is a lie! We are calling only RINOs within the party traitorous. We are advocating the purge of all the RINOS If you want to engage in fair intellectual discourse, start with telling the truth.
Besides, Hayworth should be able to defeat McCain on his own accord.
Sorry, there are too many Palin is a goddess folks out there. If she goes public in a big way for McCain, it will likely be just enough for McCain to squeak through yet again.

In case you have forgotten.
I support McCain 100% too....100% into retirement.
I am not saying she is anything other than blessed. Her path has been startlingly fresh and different from the low standard set by Zero. She uses her mind to post authoritative positions, rather than pablum to appeal for "hope and change". She speaks from her heart, with a strength behind the words.
I could go on, but really, I am not posting to you. I know you will come back with another "she did" and I can post another "she didn't:. It will still come down to how she comes through the next year.
She is going to be a king-maker. That is why you are all "so wee-wee'd up", I assume. She has plenty of support and it's gaining every day. I just think you have a bad position, and calling her supporters names and demagoguing won't get ANY conservatives elected.
Merry Christmas to you and your, as well. It's gonna be a white one here, with more predicted late next week. At least Spot has some black on him so I can see him in the snow...
“Refute it.”
Make a better argument.
So far all I see from you is:
“...she has no character...”
That’s not an argument worthy of debate, that is a value judgement. The fact that a key board commando thinks he can judge the character of a politican so scorned and still fighting...is utterly amazing.

Give or take a hundred points or so.
“God chooses our leaders, IMHO. “
Obama?

Demogogue? I have only posted what Palin said with her own mouth, and checks written to RINOS by her own PAC.
So much for Christmas spirit.
