Declaring that she was honored and proud to run with him, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin pushed back hard Wednesday against a report that she had disrespected Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) by blacking out his name on a sun visor she wore on vacation.
The website TMZ accused Palin of a frontal attack on Sen. John McCain during a Hawaii vacation this week: Sarah chose to wear a visor from her campaign -- a visor that was emblazoned with the former presidential candidate's name ... that is, until Palin redacted McCain's name with a black marker.
But Palin said in a statement to POLITICO that she was just trying to be incognito -- to go unrecognized and shield her children and husband, Todd, from paparazzi.
The hotel where she was staying had to chase away five photographers, a friend said.
Palin said in the statement to POLITICO: I am so sorry if people took this silly incident the wrong way. I adore John McCain, support him 100 percent and will do everything I can to support his reelection. As everyone knows, I was honored and proud to run with him. And Todd and I were with him in D.C. just a week ago. So much for trying to be incognito."
The Palins were taking a break from a three-and-a-half-week book tour for her million-copy-selling memoir, Going Rogue: An American Life. Palin has signed more than 59,000 books -- an average of 1,750 per stop -- and has traveled more than 19,000 miles by plane and bus. She has spent 115 hours -- or 4.8 days -- signing books in 33 cities in 25 states. Her stops have included five military bases.

Oh my goodness...Mike. “DISRESPECT” IS NOT A VERB!!!
Geez the damn press can’t leave her alone for one damn second. She will always feel a sense of loyalty to John McCain. I don’t know why, he didn’t allow her to be herself and he surrounded her with buffoons who trashed her non stop
She sure blew that response.
“You got to dance with them what brung you”
McCain may be running against an actual conservative (former Congressman J.D. Hayworth, should he decide to run). I hope that promise to support McCain’s reelection no matter what is a courtesy and not meant to be taken literally.
She’s not endorsing a possible run by J.D. Hayworth for the seat in ! That’s the wrong move, Sarah.
She would have been better off hiding all of her birth records, school records, medical records and passport records.
Then the press would have given her a pass.
“I adore John McCain, support him 100 percent and will do everything I can to support his reelection.”
She could have gone all day without saying that.
Although I knew it was coming sooner or later. As much as I can’t stand McCain, I can understand why she might feel obligated to him... for now.
If it had not been for McCain, most of us would have never known her.... I will give him that.
My computer is omitting words again! The last word in my post above should be “Arizona”.
This will backfire on you Sarah. Bad move!
What's the big deal...I've blacked out his name on the McCain/Palin bumper sticker on my P/U.
“Shes not endorsing a possible run by J.D. Hayworth for the seat in ! Thats the wrong move, Sarah.”
It wouldn’t be wise to endorse Hayworth until he decides to run...
I would suggest you read her book to understand why she is contemplating helping McCain. She has a lot of respect for him, and she has too much class to throw him under the bus.
It also wouldn’t be wise to endorse McPain before JD has decided whether to run. On the other hand, she did say “everything I can” which seems a little weaselly and may be designed to allow her to do the right thing later.
“everything I can”
Shall we parse this? I did everything I could to stop global warming which was not a darn thing.
Why would it be classy not to throw him under the bus? He’s a RINO. Does class require giving up one of only 100 Senate seats to a RINO, regardless of what he’s done? If she absolutely must make a show of support for McCain, support Hayworth for Senate if he runs, then if she’s elected POTUS, make McCain ambassador to East Bumfuckistan or something.
She's thankful for McCain giving her the opportunity, and she supports McCain taking advantage of the opportunity to run again in his state for the office of his choice.
She is not endorsing McCain, or refusing to endorse anyone else.
She is simply saying that the supports anyone who takes advantage of the right and privelege to run for an office.

Of course Sarah will support McCain. Look, as much as we don’t like McCain, she feels loyal to the guy. That will never change. Of course she supports his re-election bid. I don’t think she will campaign for him, I think she will just give him money.
Sarah Palin is a woman of honor and understands the value of loyalty. She will stand by John McCain (who I despise personally) 'til the end.
