Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- On a day when Democrats emerged triumphantly from a meeting with President Barack Obama appearing to have won the vote of Joe Lieberman for their pro-abortion health care bill, they may not be ready to celebrate yet. The Lieberman vote appeared to allow Democrats and Obama to secure 59 votes.
The only holdout left appeared to be pro-life Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska who says he won't vote for the bill because it funds abortions.
Political observers need to hang on to their hats because pro-abortion Sen. Rolland Burris of Illinois, ironically the lawmakers appointed to take Obama's seat until the next election, may throw the Senate for a loop.
Burris says that now that the public option has been emaciated to get Lieberman's support, he may very well vote no on the bill.
The black Democrat is beholden to no one and is already something of a rebel because Senate Democrats didn't want him to be in the chamber after he was named by embattled pro-abortion Gov. Rod Blagojevich to replace Obama.
I am committed to voting for a bill that achieves the goals of a public option: competition, cost savings and accountability, he said Monday night on the Senate floor. I will not be able to vote for lesser legislation that ignores those fundamentals.
The price isn’t right....yet.
Well he gave him the gitmo boys
Kill the Bill
Its the best thing to do as talked about from BOTH parties.
Ah yes. Burris is not charged with corruption.

I think this one vote is why the Stimulus is still largely not spent.
Very rarely, a Democrat’s greed and corrupt lust for power is a good thing. It’s a balance to all the other corrupt, greedy Dems out there.
Blago has taught him well.
Never say yes until you have the money in the bag.
Yeah, well HIS price will be to say to these bozos: “Either you guys ensure my reelection in 2010 or I’ll scuttle your stoopid health-graft bill.”
Mark Kirk, it was nice to know ya, but I for one won’t really mind too much if Rahm decides he has to keep Roland in Washington for a while.
cue violins for Kirk-a$$
Watching the Democrat party’s inbred mAssholes, New Yawkers and San Fags in their circular firing squad over their abortion of a health care bill has been the best week of Schaudenfraude I’ve ever enjoyed. I love watching Dems tear each other up.
I now think Republicans have a good chance of taking back majorities in both houses of Congress in less than a year.
What Burris wants is something for HIM. Something for his state just won’t do unless it profits him personally. That’s going to be the tricky part. What I expect is some agency will be set up and Burris will, a year or so out, get the high-paying do-nothing position he desires. Or, if Burris owns some real estate, the feds will pay WAY above market for it. Or, some company he owns will receive some HUGE contract.
Kill the Bill!
On Demonic Underground the headline reads:
Howard Dean: “Kill The Senate Bill”
On the bill. On the bill. On the bill. On the bill.
He's not saying he'll vote no on Cloture.
Isn’t the only thing different between Burris and Kirk is hows they spell Democrat? One spells it like this: Democrat and the other like this: Republican.
Black liberals want to kill off their own ethnicity for what reason? Black Americans need to ask.

His “Independence” is a joke.
Exactly.
Go get em, Rockin Rolland. A couple bil for chitown sewers sounds about right. I wish our senators would sell their votes.
The bigger question, will Burris vote for Cloture? Because if he votes yes, only 51 votes will be needed tp pass ObamaCare; a no vote on Cloture keeps the vote needed at 60 tp pass OC.
I thought Burris wasn’t running again; and he has been pretty badly burned by the Chicago machine (ie, Obots who wanted Valerie Jarrett to fill the seat INSTEAD of Burris)...so, possibly the payback here could be Burris sticking his thumb in Barry’s eye.
