Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site... or so they say... and they might even be right.
We don't go for any of that godless left-wing big government socialist malarkey. And we do put our faith and trust in God, not government. We are pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Family, pro-Country and pro-Liberty.
We do not believe that government or science knows what's best for us or our children. We will make our own decisions thank you very much.
Every once in a while some group of posters get together and try to bend Free Republic to their will. Now, we tend to be pretty free-wheeling around here and will take a lot of guff and a lot of obnoxious insults from a lot of people, but eventually a breaking point is reached.
For example, when a group of RINO lovers recently banded together to try to force FR to accept an abortionist/gay rights RINO as our presidential candidate, they soon found themselves on the outs.
And a few years ago a group of evolutionists tried to force FR over to their way of thinking and they soon found themselves on the outs.
FR is a pro-God, pro-Creator, pro-Life, pro-Liberty site.
And now we have yet another group of Darwinists trying to have their Darwinist way with us. Well, as I've said before what doesn't kill us will only make us stronger.
Darwin Central has again declared war on FR. They have ping lists and email lists and will try to pull away as many FReepers as they possibly can. So be it. Those who would rather go with Darwin, please go. I sure as hell won't try to stop you.
FR will remain a pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Liberty, pro-Creator conservative site.
We wholeheartedly believe that our unalienable rights are a gift from God our Creator not from man or government. And no man, no government will ever deprive us of same.
Keep your powder dry.
I know who God is. Who is Darwin?
The language in the title speaks for itself. If you want to ignore that and join the cheerleader, it’s a free republic, for some.
when u and i were boys in leave it to beaver days it wasn’t ftinge was it?
it was the norm
and we were so much the better for it

Yes you most definitely can be a christian or a Christian and believe in evolution. Yes you can be conservative and patriotic and still believe in evolution. No one is saying otherwise. I don’t think Jim Robinson meant that evolutionist weren’t welcome here. I think he just wants the nasty attacks to stop on both sides. That is my take anyway. I hope you don’t leave FR. Exchange of ideas is great even if people don’t agree with you. Blessings!
Buy a clue. You don’t have *believe* certain things to be a member here.
What the rest of us see this as is that JR is simply letting people know where he stands and what to expect.
The NYS homeschool support group L.E.A.H. is decidedly Christian. They make that very clear up front. There will be talk about God, there will be Bible reading and prayer happening. Nobody demanded participation in those things from the people who chose to join, although respect was expected, especially during praying.
But they made it very clear that this was what they were about and nobody ought to come in thinking that they were going to change things. Expect to hear it. If you don’t like it, find somewhere else, but don’t expect to come in and change things.
This seems to me to be the same kind of statement.
Planning on stalking reaganout, are you?
Why?
What is YOUR problem here?
And no man, no government will ever deprive us of same.
Amen ! Brother.

Maybe someone has already addressed this but the scripture that you gave Exodus 24 does not say anything about God going to kill Moses. Exodus 4:24 does. I think that is why people are confused.
That is probably one of the BEST summaries of the Bible that I have ever read. Well done!
Great!
I don’t think that Jim meant that you aren’t welcome here but that this was the theme of the site (pro-God) and don’t try to change it.
So proud to be here! Thank you for this awesome site!!!
God bless Jim Robinson and FReerepublic!
Of course Reagan survived, conservatives loved him, remember? We don't have to theorize, he won his two elections and the overwhelming support of conservatives. George Washington won too and after his two terms were finished we can all look at history and cherry pick the decisions that a two term president has to make, just like we can with Reagan, and we still love them both.
Don't confuse a candidate running for office and whether conservatives like and support that candidate, with a historical study of his administration once it is in the history books and he has moved on to private life.
Conservatives loved Reagan and they still love Reagan, sam_paine's pulling out a straw dog attack, looking for a new angle to attack conservatism.
God bless you and merry Christmas!
snip: Why Has Evolution Stopped?
It hasn’t. Why would you think it has?
Spirited: Sorry Phile, but your way of thinking has become the ‘new dinosaurism.’ It’s passe-—it’s out. Today’s version of evolution is ‘spiritual, ‘ according to green occult pantheists. Absolute spirit is THE FORCE within evolution, and it is ‘causing’ certain ‘chosen ones’ like the powerful, influential Barbara Marx Hubbard to evolve spiritually. The next ‘quantum leap in evolution’ will usher in the ‘gods and goddesses.’
Even now, globalist transnational green progressives are busily engaged in ‘stealing’ Darwin away from evolutionary materialists. Darwin is being drained of materialist canon and being refilled with green spiritism.
Disagree. I am not a fundamentalist nor have I ever been one. Just a pathetic attempt to marginalize an opponent by tying them to religion and there is the implication through the use of “fundamentalist” that freepers are akin to muslim fundamentalists. This is all about politics, the constitution and the republic and defending those from the Nazi democrat party.
OF course, there’s room.
But don’t you want to know what direction the bus is going in before getting on it?
That’s all JR did.
Fringe? Not sure about that. I think there are a lot more people out there like us than even we could hope for. Right Wing? Perhaps and that’s fine. Christian fundamentalist? Sure there’s a fair amount of them here but then again conservative Jews and agnostics are welcome and very much a part of the mix at FR.
Since this is a forum for intelligent conservative discourse, why does it allow a post as pig-ignorant as #266?
