Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site
12/11/2009 | Jim Robinson

Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site... or so they say... and they might even be right.

We don't go for any of that godless left-wing big government socialist malarkey. And we do put our faith and trust in God, not government. We are pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Family, pro-Country and pro-Liberty.

We do not believe that government or science knows what's best for us or our children. We will make our own decisions thank you very much.

Every once in a while some group of posters get together and try to bend Free Republic to their will. Now, we tend to be pretty free-wheeling around here and will take a lot of guff and a lot of obnoxious insults from a lot of people, but eventually a breaking point is reached.

For example, when a group of RINO lovers recently banded together to try to force FR to accept an abortionist/gay rights RINO as our presidential candidate, they soon found themselves on the outs.

And a few years ago a group of evolutionists tried to force FR over to their way of thinking and they soon found themselves on the outs.

FR is a pro-God, pro-Creator, pro-Life, pro-Liberty site.

And now we have yet another group of Darwinists trying to have their Darwinist way with us. Well, as I've said before what doesn't kill us will only make us stronger.

Darwin Central has again declared war on FR. They have ping lists and email lists and will try to pull away as many FReepers as they possibly can. So be it. Those who would rather go with Darwin, please go. I sure as hell won't try to stop you.

FR will remain a pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Liberty, pro-Creator conservative site.

We wholeheartedly believe that our unalienable rights are a gift from God our Creator not from man or government. And no man, no government will ever deprive us of same.

Keep your powder dry.

At least us “anti’s” answer the questions posted to us.

Would you like me to list a list of questions, posed to you, that REMAIN unanswered?

And you would know all about “alien” spirits.

Hie to Kolob, anyone?

I'm still waiting for a response to my request for links to verify this charge against me as well.

NL: 1400: Your condescension and contempt for all things Catholic, spewed over years of posting history is really wearing thin.

... so many spend so much time viciously exploring and magnifying our differences ...

Yes, we are all here. Much of what "distresses" you is WHY we come here. Yelling at the TV or kicking the dog gets stale. We ARE all different, yet we do have that common bent. As conservatives, we are personally invested in "self". "Personal Rights" are exactly that. As many of us are Theists, we naturally have lots of angles to explore. The wrinkle comes in when a heavy hand appears.

Such is the case (IMHO) when the owner of the site posts HIS OPINION, and within a short while the moaning begins. "I guess Catholics (Mormons, Joos (for explanation, see: Andy Levy, Agnostics, Southern Baptists, et al) don't belong here", we see them complain. When, in essence, it's really an affirmation, not a rejection of "all of the above".

I make it perfectly clear that I don't accept any leadership from Rome. I was raised an Episcopalian, but then found God (if you know what I mean!). I discovered the Grace He so beneovently bestows on us, and have followed Him ever since. I am distressed when I see constant ridicule of my beliefs, and usually respond with a double pronged "attack"

I love the Word of God. "In the beginning was the Word", breathing life into nothing. In the middle, men lived and died. God remained in "Heaven". Historically, a man called Jesus walked on the Earth, and seemed to "fit the description of the perp" that all of the Old Testament said was coming. As recorded in history, that man stood before a judge, and was sent to die, because some hated what He stood for. No record has been found of Him having been a "sinner". The "story line says" He died as a sacrifice for us, since we have been born to be sinners. At the end, He is on the Throne, and He will Judge. His judgment is going to be on one basis. "Did you know me then? No, not that you talked about Me or called on me distress, but DO YOU KNOW ME?". He already knows the answer. Do you?

The only intercessor between God and man is the Christ we know as Jesus... Thank God.

Thanks, Jim, for FreeRepublic...

Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Romans 4:5 says that salvation comes to those who do not work for salvation, but believe on Jesus Christ instead!

Jesus Christ came into this world to lay down His sinless life for YOU-to pay for your sins because you couldn't. Jesus is your only hope for salvation. Only by receiving Him as your Saviour can you enter the gates of Heaven. There is no other way. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me." {John 14:6} "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." {Acts 4:12}

The Lord Jesus Christ has come and PAID for your sins by shedding His own Blood on Calvary. By receiving Him as your Saviour, you can be WASHED from all your sins in His precious Blood {Rev. 1:5; Col. 1:14; Acts 20:28; I Pet. 1:18-19}. Notice these important words from Romans 5:8-9: "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him."

Jesus PAID your way to Heaven! Your church cannot save you! Only by receiving Jesus Christ as your Saviour can you escape the damnation of Hell. Are you willing to forsake YOUR righteousness and receive Jesus Christ as your Saviour, your ONLY HOPE for Salvation? Romans 10:13 says, "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:9 says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Why not pray right now and ask the Lord to come into your heart and cleanse you from all sin? He will save you just as He promised.-MMO

That pretty much sums up what I was NOT told before I joined the LDS, and what I found out AFTER I joined.

Had I known going in, I probably would not have joined. That is likely true of most people who get sucked in to the LDS.

The only ones who don't seem to think that the place is a sewer are the inhabitants thereof.

lol, I'm sure alligators who are sewer dwellers believe that they live in paradise. Judging from the email I've received in the last 24 hours, it seems to be quite the little cyber hobby they've got going on over there. Wonder which "laurel wreathed Brigadier General" FR outcast is in charge of Homeland Stalking

awww, what a cute pic.

And I am not crying over “spilt milk”. In a way I am grateful for having been LDS. My experience helps me witness to those still in the Mormon Church better.

And more importantly, I learned valuable lessons, lessons that led me to Christ:

1) I learned to test everything against the Bible. I did not do that before I was LDS, nor while I was LDS. It came about as I was beginning to leave and comparing LDS doctrine to the Bible.

2) I learned that no “church” can save me. Only Christ can. The LDS church is very rigid regarding behavior, rules, rites, ordinances, etc. I was very “religious” as LDS but that didn’t get me any closer to God like they promised me.

3) Finally, I learned that I could never save myself. My works did nothing. I had a particularly demanding landlord who criticized everything I did (clean house, shower, dress, ate, read, prayed, sang, ad infinitum). I tried my best for almost a year to please this woman, but it was never good enough. It made me realize, in a very real way, that if my “best” wasn’t good enough for her, there was no way it could ever be good enough for God, who demands so much more.

Those three lessons, and some others, prepared me to hear the Gospel of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus alone. So, in a way, being LDS, helped lead me to become a Christian.

I know that I have answered all of your posts to me and you have yet to explain what you meant by my "theological differences" and you have yet to show where I have made any attack on Charles Darwin, ad hominem or otherwise.

And once again, you show the lurkers, the inability to defend the indefensible (LDS doctrine).

I do not have to “spin”, I speak from experience.

The LDS church, however, are masters of “spin”, as evidenced by how they handled the Mark Hoffman situation. They paid all this money to Hoffman, to buy forged documents they believed were real, and were accepted by the membership in general (at least in Utah), then had egg on their face when it came to light that he was a forger and a theif, and a murderer.

Joseph Smith would have been SO proud! Hoffman was a man after his own heart.

BTW, if the LDS first presidency supposedly has powers of discernment, how come they didn’t recognize the documents were fraudlent at the beginning??
