Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site

Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site... or so they say... and they might even be right.

We don't go for any of that godless left-wing big government socialist malarkey. And we do put our faith and trust in God, not government. We are pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Family, pro-Country and pro-Liberty.

We do not believe that government or science knows what's best for us or our children. We will make our own decisions thank you very much.

Every once in a while some group of posters get together and try to bend Free Republic to their will. Now, we tend to be pretty free-wheeling around here and will take a lot of guff and a lot of obnoxious insults from a lot of people, but eventually a breaking point is reached.

For example, when a group of RINO lovers recently banded together to try to force FR to accept an abortionist/gay rights RINO as our presidential candidate, they soon found themselves on the outs.

And a few years ago a group of evolutionists tried to force FR over to their way of thinking and they soon found themselves on the outs.

FR is a pro-God, pro-Creator, pro-Life, pro-Liberty site.

And now we have yet another group of Darwinists trying to have their Darwinist way with us. Well, as I've said before what doesn't kill us will only make us stronger.

Darwin Central has again declared war on FR. They have ping lists and email lists and will try to pull away as many FReepers as they possibly can. So be it. Those who would rather go with Darwin, please go. I sure as hell won't try to stop you.

FR will remain a pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Liberty, pro-Creator conservative site.

We wholeheartedly believe that our unalienable rights are a gift from God our Creator not from man or government. And no man, no government will ever deprive us of same.

Keep your powder dry.

HIV/AIDS did not exist back then. However, you may be interested in the gradual increase of the lifespans of those infected. Yes, we are dealing quite efficiently with HIV, despite the constant efforts of the gay community to produce new drug resistant variants (but this is another story).

There was also the concept of allowing the ground to rest and go fallow

Yes on the 6th year no planting for the 7th - and GOD gave them on abundance of crop to make up for that year. They did miss out on anything following HIS way of doing things. Plus they had a year off.

Read them through sometime and think about what we know about bacteria

That's a plan. Thanks. There is always something to learn from THE WORD.

HIV/AIDS did not exist back then.

What schoolbook taught you that?

"As little as I visit those “neighborhoods” I am continually amazed at what creepy, snarky, hatefilled, and positively anti-life “folks” fill their bandwidths."

It is like opening the door to a bad odor, isn't it.

“The problem here on FR is the zeal of one, small breed of creationists”

Why is that a problem? You don’t have to engage them in conversation and they don’t set policy.

So Gemmel figured it out in 1960?

You know, we keep getting told that science isn’t about truth, but finding the best explanation to fit the data.

I can live with that.

We’re also told that science adjusts theories, etc as new data comes in.

Fine.....

What I don’t understand then, is how someone can then use something that is by nature not certain and is so readily subject to revision as a standard to which compare and pass judgment other things with.

Evos are constantly telling creationists that they are wrong about what Scripture says about the beginning, based on what?

Truth? No, because we’ve already been told that science isn’t about truth. And besides, even if it is the search for truth, it hasn’t arrived.

Everything that science has changed it’s position on in the past was wrong. You don’t change something that is right because then you’d be making it wrong.

And at this point, how can we be sure that THIS time science got it right when it hasn’t yet in the past?

So how can you compare the Bible to something with a track record of inaccuracy that science has?

Why twist and adjust Scripture to fit that which is not true or certain to begin with?

I know that I’ll get shredded for this again, as I have in the past, but I love science and investigating and learning about the world around us.

I love the application of the practical knowledge that we have learned in the form of technology to make our lives more comfortable and enjoyable.

But really, science is a wonderful tool and a great means to an end, but it should not be the end in and of itself.

Thanks for the link. I did click on it. Tomorrow, I’ll take a look at the site.

I read the Bible at home but Bible Study class helps explain/discuss the things I don’t understand. But my family comes first, before anything and everything else.

The best surgeon I know is a very devout Christian who prays for and with his patients.

He regularly sees them healed BEFORE he has the opportunity to operate on them, verified by tests and scans. He has to go to them and send them home cause there’s nothing left to operate on them for.

Why a problem? (1) Because FR is a recognized Internet think tank for conservatives, just as Democratic Underground, Daily KOS or whatever else are for the Left. 'Creation science' gives us all a bad name. (2) Because of the argument "we are better Christians than you are", which directly challenges those, who do not subscribe to YEC beliefs.

So they figured out, and I have no reason to suspect that they falsified the research on the origins of HIV for the purpose of attacking YEC.

to people dying of conditions we now routinely cure.

You don't cure anyone, you treat them or practice on them.

it’s a pity that you can’t preach your Young Earth Cretinism 100 years ago,

There was healing 2,000 years ago. SHOW me where I preached young/old earth anywhere?

God Word's always was and will always be THE SAME. If you don't get it, you don't change it just to get it. A little mind trying to grasp the supernatural ain't going to happen.

I’m curious as to how the creationists would answer the question - were Adam and Eve white or black?

Neither. The name Adam from which the later Hebrew names Esau and Edom are derived means, "red," or "ruddy of complexion." Not "black." Not "white."

If God created white people first, does that mean he loves them most?

Question answered above, but that said can you please point in the Scripture where it supposedly says either that God created "white" people "first," and that God supposedly loves "white" people more than others?

We should all have Noah’s DNA in our veins if the Bible is true, right?

Correct. And that is because the Bible is true.

"The best surgeon I know is a very devout Christian who prays for and with his patients..."

And I am not saying that this is bad. On the contrary. However, prayer was also available 200 years ago, and people were still dying because of conditions that became curable later, thanks to the progress of science.

What are you suggesting, that we should all become like the Amish? Perhaps...

The living and dying on this earth is only comforted by their knowledge of pleasure and pain. The Lord and Satan have a bit of a feud going on here in case you haven’t noticed.

Who gives a crap what the DUmp or Kossacks think about us? People of that ilk despise us for simply existing.

FR isn’t an evangelism site.

"You don't cure anyone, you treat them or practice on them."

If I am not curing anyone, then why do they allow me to "practice" in them? :)

"SHOW me where I preached young/old " - You, sir, attacked me because of my statement that we need means (science) to gain dominion over the world. So, more precisely, I should have written that I wish you were able to preach this philosophy to people 100 years ago, suffering from trivial (now) ailments. For the sake of brevity I bundled it with YECs (who express similar sentiments), but if the extrapolation goes too far, I apologize for associating you with Young Earth Creationists.

Great news! And it is true - I am a living testimony about healing. Three major healings! My daughter still shakes her head when she sees me now compared to one year ago and what the doctors said about there is NO CURE. The doctors were right - they couldn't do a thing about it all.

NO ONE can ever tell me - or my family - Jesus didn't provide our healing at The Cross. That person would automatically be considered clueless and void of The Truth.
