In a three-way Generic Ballot test, the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds Democrats attracting 36% of the vote. The Tea Party candidate picks up 23%, and Republicans finish third at 18%. Another 22% are undecided.

whats the difference being different if the difference is the same?
++++++++++++
Work to force the GOP right, through Tea Parties and other precinct activities at the local and state levels. Embrace, endorse and work for the difference. A difference will not be made by clucking (no offense to you, I’m just making an observation) at the stupidity of the Republican leadership.
Anyone is invited to run for anything they want as long as they’re against Dimocrats.
Yeah, but the problem is, once you get past that one small cluster of issues, the field is kind of wide open, and you fall into the same trap the Reform Party did - of leaving everything else so open ended once you find agreement on a few issues, that you end up running Pat Buchanan and Lenora Fulani on the same ticket. Not a prescription for political success.
Conservatism - I hate it to break it to some folks - is about more than just Article I, Section 8. It's about more than just a few hardcore economic conservative issues. Any group or Party that fails to understand this will not have my continued support.

Congressional candidate Lieutenant Colonel Allen WEST

I'd vote for him in a heartbeat!
Sure wish we had firebrand Patriots like him running up here in Maine!
I've long maintained, just like he does, that my induction oath taken in 1967 to "...support and defend the Constitution..." etc. had no expiration date concurrent with my ETS, nor have I ever renounced it, nor do I ever intend to.
One of the comments on the Las Vegas site was kinda cute;
"Since West opposes Obama, he must be a RACIST!" :-\ Hmmmmm..... Go figure! ...

Now THIS is the kind of Candidate that the Republican Party needs to QUIT marginalizing and THROWING UNDER THE BUS and start promoting for a change!!!
Mr STEELE: This is the FUTURE of your Party; please get a clue or your party - and our Country - may not have much of a future!
I'm not in a position right now to donate much money to a Candidate, but I might have to make an exception for WEST. (Unlike the solicitations I get from the National GOP which get summarily thrown away or returned with a "Nada Peso" note.)

Just rec'd this back from a Friend and fellow Veteran who has been a Conservative political activist and champion of 2nd A. gun rights in MD for many years and has some interesting insight as to the party Chairman, which explains a lot.
I didn't know that Steele was Lt. Gov. of MD - did you?
>" Hey Jaque, appealing to Steele is hopeless.
Before the election of the Erlich and Steele administration here in Maryland they were Gung Ho pro gun and gladly accepted our help.
After the election we were pushed off so briskly that before six months were up we knew we were had. We also then predicted they would be a one term Governor and Lieutenant Governor which they were.
During Erlich Steele administration more shooting ranges were closed then during several previous Democratic regimes.
Both of them were specialists at undermining their voting base.
Don't expect much from the R. N. C. with an @$$#0!3 like Steele involved."
This intel only confirms my suspicions that if "Tea-Party" Conservatives ever want to restore the GOP to it's original principles and make it politically viable again, then STEELE, along with no doubt a goodly number of his "moderate" (liberal) sycophant executive elite at National HQ, HAS TO GO!!!

Dodging the question. What about "Republicans" who, in the positions they take and the votes they cast, are all but indistinguishable FROM Democrats...?
LOL - the only true conservatives are ME and MY CHOSEN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE.
**Were against anything the Democrats are for.
—Oh? No Romney, then? No McCain? No Crist? No Steele? No Snowe? No Gingrich?

Aren’t those practically democrats? Can any of them be salvaged (if they *act* differently?)
LOL - the only true conservatives are ME and MY CHOSEN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE.

‘the only true church is...’
My point. ;)
The Tea Party People aren't that stupid...
The Tea Party isn't a new Party...It won't be registered as a Party...It IS a takeover of the Republican Party as we know it...
You can't work with the RNC and the Newt Grinches, we have to shove em under the bus and start the Grand New Party...
This anti incumbent group is much more than just the GOP conservative base. They come from across the political specturm of the two main parties but also a lot of independents and 3rd parties. Will these joint together when voting time comes to replace the incumbents? I truly doubt it as many will go back to their party and support that candidate which will dilute the vote across many different ones giving the establishment the win most likely. I’m not sure what the answer is other than to take back the largest party and not splinter into multiple factions.
A few tidbits from the poll:
** Republican voters, 39% say theyd vote for the GOP candidate, but 33% favor the Tea Party option
**55% of conservatives nationwide consider themselves Republicans [thus 45% are something else]
**not affiliated with either major party, (33%) prefer the Tea Party candidate, and 30% are undecided. (25%) would vote for a Democrat, 12% prefer the GOP.
The mood of the nation is in a state of flux but hopefully it will come together and get some conservatives elected in 2010.
No.
Right. And the real question is, will the national GOP, Steele, et al, support Tea Party candidates *or* their chosen RINO brethren and sistren (sic).
If not, then we’re going to have a good ol’ fashioned political street brawl on our hands and we’ll be looking for, as ConservativeGreatGrandma advocates, anyone opposed the socialist policies.
Sorry GOP - it aint good nuff to *just* have the R by your name, as long as you’re wink, winkin’ at us. (We might just be looking for a “T” or an “I” (NY 23, et al) in some local cases!)
We’re going to watch you closely, and hold you closely, not because we perceive you as our friends, but really because we don’t, and we hold our friends close and our enemies (or practical enemies) closer.
Deal with that!
I want an anti-federal government party. Goal 1: stop the growth. Goal 2: shrink it to constitutional proportions. I understand that goal 2 could take generations. Goal 1 needs to be accomplished immediately. Or we prepare ourselves for a revolution and to start over from scratch.
Exactly...it’s not about taking over the republican party.
Good point; I usually just recycle the “PSMs” (”Please Send Money”) from the State and National GOP, but occasionally avail myself of that postage paid envelope they send to return my sentiments of exactly how I feel about the touchy feely eggheaded sorry excuse for a “republican” party they have become.
The only thing going for them is that they are usually not quite as bad as the communist alternative, assuming that Conservatives will continue to vote the lessor of political evils, which is the best they aspire to be.
I’ve printed out some joke fake money to send along, some of which has been posted here, or you can search it up.
One of my favorites i still use is the GWB “Nada Peso” that pokes satire at illegal immigration which ‘Pubbies don’t seem to care much about any more than the commucrats.
Although I cant afford to support politics financially as much as I”d like (disability retired) I do like to support individual Constitutional Conservative Candidates as much as I can - and sometimes I scan the check along with the donor form before I send it, so I can send the RNC a COPY of the check that they are NOT getting - and let them pay the postage for it!
The mood of the nation is in a state of flux but hopefully it will come together and get some conservatives elected in 2010.

That’s not good enough. “Hopefully”. With all due respect. ConservativeGreatGrandma has a point that we need a strategy. imho, the strategy must be to purge the RINOs in the primaries and elect principled conservatives (generally on the R ticket.) But there will be occasions (like in NY 23, which was SO close to succeeding) where we need to take a stand and eschew the R even in the general election.
Our strategy cannot be to simply ‘sink’ the bastuds in the GOP. Stupid strategy that gets us 4 more years of socialism/communism.
Want that?
