Just announced live - waiting link
Her parents launched quite the p.r. campaign to make her look good in the press, but the evidence seems pretty overwhelming.
Personally, I tend to agree. There were no other suspects, and none of the forensics seemed to point in any other direction.
Whether she was the person actually wielding the knife or not, she was involved.
They found her DNA in her own apartment, imagine that? I haven't been following the case, but a former colleague (a first generation Italian/American) has been, and I know he thought the prosecution had a weak case, and a flimsy case by American standards. Maybe she did it, maybe she didn't, but "beyond a reasonable doubt" probably wasn't met, FWIW.
How about in this one ?
There indeed was another suspect whose DNA was all over the place. He took off for Germany. His name is Guede. He is mentioned in an earlier post in this thread.
From what little I read, which is not much, she did the dirty deed on her boyfriend. Her excuses were sorta out there, like... you can’t prove aliens didn’t beam down and kill him so I must be innocent.
If they checked, they could probably find the DNA of 15 more males around there, knowwhutImean!!
These dames weren’t exactly Brownie Scouts...
I’ve done more research on this. The DNA on the knife was shady and from expert opinions it sounds more like contamination happened. Too many things I’ve read, listened to on this is shady. But if she really did it then she gets what she deserves. The whole thing is sad.
The evidence was not compelling. If it tells you anything, folks. Keep your kids close.
She’ll be out in a year, tops.
So far, we must be the only two that aren’t sure enough to convict her.
boyfriend = roommate (I was confused)
Hardly anyone outside of Washington State has been following this case as you can see by many of the replies.
There was zero evidence she was involved in the death. It is a wrongful conviction pure and simple.
She’s *very* fluent as of now. Almost doesn’t sound yank.
This girl is innocent.
If you don’t know what the hell the facts are, STFU.
One little fact that you might not know, the guy who was convicted and A. Knox had never met each other.
Lets not forget that the prosecutor is actually an indicted crook who was allowed to continue in this case.
From what little I've read (and I have some courtroom experience), the handling of this case would not have passed muster in an American court. It was tried in the press, and most of the evidence was circumstantial or hearsay. She might indeed be guilty, but there would be fewer questions about it if the verdict were handed down by an American jury.
Here is a better picture. Very sad to see this pretty girl wrongly convicted.

She is innocent. This is a travesty.
“This girl is innocent.
If you dont know what the hell the facts are, STFU.”
Thank you for saying that. I was outraged by some of the first comments I was reading.
According to the article linked to in post 36, he was convicted last year.
