Boxer: Hacked 'Climategate' emails may face criminal probe By Michael O'Brien - 12/02/09 03:26 PM ET

Leaked emails allegedly undermining climate change science should be treated as a criminal matter, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) said Wednesday.

Boxer, the top Democrat on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, said that the recently-released emails, showing scientists allegedly overstating the case for climate change, should be treated as a criminal matter.

"You call it 'Climategate,' I call it 'E-mail-theft-gate,'" she said during a committee meeting on Wednesday. "Whatever it is, the main issue is are we facing global warming or are we not. I'm looking at these emails, that, even though they were stolen, are now out in the public."

The emails, from scientists at the University of East Anglia, were obtained through email hacking. The messages showed the director of the university's Climate Research Unit discussing ways to strengthen the unit's case for global warming. Climate change skeptics have seized on the e-mails, arguing that they demonstrate manipulation in environmental science.

Boxer said her committee may hold hearings into the matter, as its top Republican, Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), has asked, but that a criminal probe would be part of any such hearings.

"We may well have a hearing on this, we may not. We may have a briefing for senators, we may not," Boxer said. "Part of our looking at this will be looking at a criminal activity which could have well been coordinated."

"This is a crime," Boxer said.

“You call it ‘Climategate,’ I call it ‘E-mail-theft-gate,’”

You may call yourself a senator, I call you the south end of a northbound horse.

You’re right about her being a dolt. I realized that the first time I heard her speak. But, worse than that, she can’t stand any information that runs against her preconceived notion.

“I think of it as e-mail-theftgate.”

I think of it as the Pentagon-Papers-of-the-climate-war-on-America.

More and more, she acts like someone on the payroll of the MidEast and Russian oil states, as everything she does is designed to keep the US in debt to those entities, and eliminate any chance of an energy independence at home.

When my lib-in-law was proclaiming the superior intellect of our elected leaders, I asked her if she’d ever heard the name “Maxine Waters”.

Nope...

This is one Boxer that took too many blows to the head. All these emails were subject to the Freedom of Information Act in the UK which these liars were trying to subvert. The public paid for this and has a right to it. There was no crime except for the scientists committing it.

The NY Times has printed far worse to the detriment of US security and I never heard her call for a criminal investigation.

And what was her opinion of the release of the Pentagon Papers, I wonder . . . .

We have the worst example of fraud in modern history and Babs is worried about some leaks?

Maybe she should take a look around at the “leaky” party she is associated with. The Dhimmis never saw a piece of confidential or classified info that they wouldn’t leak if it suited their purposes.

Besides, when the information “hacked” or “leaked” is being held back in violation of FoI laws, it is more a case of whistle blowing than hacking.

It looks like being a “Boxer” really IS hazardous to one’s mental health!

“Since when does the US have jurisdiction of events in the UK. Boxer forgets we kicked the Brits out several hundred years ago”

She has always felt a kinship with the people of England since they share something in common. England has the White Cliffs of Dover and she has a butt the same size , just a little bit whiter and covered with more green moss.

Fraud is a much bigger crime, Ms. Boxer. Do you want your name or your title to be included in the conspiracy indictment???? Well, Ma’am, do ya?

I suspect Boxer is upset because some of the fraud discovered in the e-mails will be traceable directly to her. She wants that suppressed ASAP.

“E-mailtheftgate”? What did she say about the Pentagon Papers or Sandy Burglar?

The General addressed her as ma’am, a standard military title of respect. Boxer dissed the General, took offense and demanded to be addressed as senator, saying she believed she had earned it.
The General’s reply should have been: “I would prefer that you address me as general, sir! I am quite sure I have earned it.”
Boxer is high on my guillotine list.

Never mind the multi-trillion-dollar fraud.

Go after one acne-ridden kid in his PJ's.

Typical. Liberalism is a criminal enterprise.
