Boxer: Hacked 'Climategate' emails may face criminal probe By Michael O'Brien - 12/02/09 03:26 PM ET
Leaked emails allegedly undermining climate change science should be treated as a criminal matter, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) said Wednesday.
Boxer, the top Democrat on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, said that the recently-released emails, showing scientists allegedly overstating the case for climate change, should be treated as a criminal matter.
"You call it 'Climategate,' I call it 'E-mail-theft-gate,'" she said during a committee meeting on Wednesday. "Whatever it is, the main issue is are we facing global warming or are we not. I'm looking at these emails, that, even though they were stolen, are now out in the public."
The emails, from scientists at the University of East Anglia, were obtained through email hacking. The messages showed the director of the university's Climate Research Unit discussing ways to strengthen the unit's case for global warming. Climate change skeptics have seized on the e-mails, arguing that they demonstrate manipulation in environmental science.
Boxer said her committee may hold hearings into the matter, as its top Republican, Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), has asked, but that a criminal probe would be part of any such hearings.
"We may well have a hearing on this, we may not. We may have a briefing for senators, we may not," Boxer said. "Part of our looking at this will be looking at a criminal activity which could have well been coordinated."
"This is a crime," Boxer said.

"Whatever it is, the main issue is are we facing global warming or are we not." "And I am going to ignore that issue and focus on the alleged e-mail theft instead."

This is a laughable but predictable response to the greatest scandal the world has ever known. If Babbsy thinks this will make it all go away, her brain has taken a walk off the map.

Things like this are why I’m skeptical about global warming. It’s very hard to take something seriously when you’re not allowed to question anything about it, but are expected to just goosestep along with the rest of the non-thinkers.

Boxer is an idiot, but many of the emailers were in the US including Michael Mann.
Boxer is simply jumping on a bandwagon she sees coming down the road. Her statement is so vague that it could mean anything from prosecuting the hacker to prosecuting the emailers.
IMHO Mann and others in the US should be prosecuted for fraud. They have mis-appropriated public funds by using false evidence to support their requests for research funds. If GISS is also compromised (and it most likely is) then Hansen at NASA should also go to jail.
This is the biggest scam in the history of the planet. This makes Bernie Madoff look like an amateur.

It is the same mentality of the rest of the Liberal clowns who want to treat Terrorists as if they simply ran a red light and didn’t really murder unarmed civilians and innocent children.
I cannot think of a more f^%$# up or illogical approach to the immediate and very material threats to America as a nation and to the welfare of Americans.
Since when did petty larceny (or whatever you want to call it) take precedence over the concerted effort on the part of a whole class of ‘professionals’ (many of them in direct and long standing association with ELECTED officials) to intentionally mislead and defraud honest taxpayers in the United States?
When/why did the common sense set of functional priorities holding this society together become SO compromised and politicized?
When did party loyalty become a more acceptable motivation than concern for national security/sovereignty, social equilibrium or just plain respect for honorable conduct?
These people nauseate me.

From everything I’ve read, it’s not been determined if this was a hacking by an outsider or a release of info by a whistle blower.

I agree with Boxer. I want a publicly televised trial. I want all the Climategate information fully exposed to the public so the world can see the total evil scam that is globull warming. The deception that “scientists” used to con research money and collude with liberals to take away our freedom and tax us.
I say put ‘em on trial!!

Boxer, the top Democrat on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, said that the recently-released emails, showing scientists allegedly overstating the case for climate change, should be treated as a criminal matter. My late mother had far more integrity and honesty than does Boxer, but she shared one thought process with the Marxist. My dear mother was a lifelong Democrat. When the subject of Monica Lewinsky came up, my mother exclaimed, "What is wrong with that girl, keeping a dirty dress like that!"
So Boxer wants to avoid the substance of the issue by addressing something else. Boxer needs to resign in disgrace and repent.

++++++++++++
Right and not just the honest, hard working American taxpayers, but such in Europe, Canada and Australia (which just voted down a global warming bill.)
Whistleblowing vs. Defrauding the world
We know what Boxer, and ilk oppose. Morons.
