Sarah Palin: Finally, A Decision for Afghanistan: We're In It to Win It
Sarah Palin Facebook ^ | Dec 1, 2009 | BigTigerMike

Three months ago, I joined a number of Americans in urging President Obama to provide the resources necessary to achieve our goals in Afghanistan. Tonight, I am glad he mostly heeded that advice........

But what are YOU talking about??? Governor Palin has repeatedly stated that she resigned from the governorship for the good of the state of Alaska.

She has stated that unequivocably DOZENS of times.

Just because you share the Left's misogynistic hatred of All.Things.Sarah does NOT negate the fact that she answered that question, and that YOU, bully, are a liar to say that She Must Answer!!!!

I am really glad that Mitt Romney is NOT an elected official at this time, and I pray for the good of my country that neither he nor anyone associated with him EVER becomes elected to anything. WHY? Because it is obvious that if his loyalists are not simply outright stupid, then they are excrutiatingly, inexcusaby RUDE.

RUDE RINO LOVERS ALERT!!! Ignorant idiots with no degree of reading comprehension. Geeeesh!!!!

Good day, and Good BY.
i have absolutely nothing further to say to you.

She “boxed” him in with this Machiavellian statement.

Damning him with faint praise?

Sarah resigning to prepare for a presidential run, is the more ethical approach.

It is?

You don't think it is?

Are you going to tell me that a governor who leaves their state to prepare for a presidential run, by touring the country, giving speeches, giving interviews and commenting on national and international issues, also has time to perform a job as governor?

I don't think that's the more ethical approach. Certainly holding the title of governor and taking a governor's paycheck while not performing the job, I would think is unethical. You would actually disagree?

The frivolous ethical complaints in Alaska would have become legitimate Sarah-isn't-doing-her-job complaints had Sarah prepared for a run traveling the lower 48 while staying on as governor.

So, she didn't want to be Governor any longer since it was hindering her 'run' for President (which she hasn't announced)

You set up a straw man fallacy. No presidential candidate "announces" their candidacy three years before an election. Cantatas simply don't announce one day out-of-the-blue that they are running for president without preparation. As I said earlier if Sarah has intentions of running, then resigning her tax payer funded full time job to prepare for a presidential run, is the more ethical approach.

I'd have to say anyone who walks away from a commitment and then uses the new-found time for profit is a bit of a problem for me, in a 'character counts' way

Apparently Sarah is more valuable doing what she is doing now, giving interviews, giving speeches, writing a book, touring the country, rallying large numbers of excited people to the conservative cause and maybe preparing a presidential run.

Forgetting that evil word "profit" for the moment, certainly Sarah is providing more value now than she would have, if she had remained pinned down in Alaska until Jan. 2011.

Why did the demand to “define victory” only come around in recent times?

I’ll tell you why. Because it makes no sense. It’s pure Alinskyism. The strategy is to simply un-define something into non-existence, hoping to lure useful idiots into joining the crowd with the illusion that asking the question “what is victory” somehow conveys a rare and profound wisdom.

Once the reality of victory is obscured, defeat can be ushered in. It’s part of the coward’s method of winning without having to fight.

Sorry, many of us still have common sense. This imagined, politically correct “wisdom” is in fact nothing but a lack of common sense.

Obama has already put politics ahead of national security,

All Milk Chocolate has done is organize, 'cause he CAN'T lead. He organized a 'solution' to his dilema- add some troops but couple it with the Left's cookie: a pull-out timeframe.

Sarah, OTOH, can lead, has led, and by now,(were she our CIC), would have run circles around this phony by restoring confidence in the markets who, by the way, are the only ones with the ability to end this recession/depression. And, she could do it with little Trig in one arm.

America did not elect a leader- it elected an 'organizer'. Please let this sink into your head. From now on, you'll begin to recognize the organizer vs the leader in almost everything he touches or reads from his telepromter.

No need to thank me now, thank me later.

You forgot to mention the difference between jihadists and communists and how that changes the battle.

Yes, I did. The communist merely wants to enslave you and make you a cog in the state they call Utopia. The jihadist wants to kill you, dead. The former is a bitch. The latter may require a re-visit of the ‘radioactive’ aisle in the warehouse.

Sarah may be providing more value now as you say. That can't be quantified and we have had several vocal and influential sitting governors in our history.

The inescapable problem (except for those who worship her) is that she walked away from a commitment to the public without a clear and clearly understandable reason. I saw the presser live. I know what reasons she gave and they were rambling, disjointed and weak (except to those who worship her).

The argument (very valid imo) is that if the pressure of a hostile press and a pugnacious opposition party was too much for her to continue effectively as governor of a small state then why should we expect her to stand up to the exponentially greater pressures to which she would be subjected as POTUS?

The only clue we have to how she would function under that infinitely greater pressure is her past performance, and that is not a confidence builing history.

Imagine a national debate..."Governor Palin, you quit in Alaska....how do we know that you won't quit in Washington?" There is no answer to that would be good enough to satisfy all but those who already worship her, and you can already see the "QUITTER" signs at every stop, fully displayed by the same press that drove her from office once already.

Palin is a game-changer but she is not electable nor, imo, presidential timber. She will force the GOP to the right, a good thing. But her role will be similar to that of Jesse Jackson in the eighties. He was unelectable but powerful enough that he forced the dems to the left.

Thank you for what?

Everyone knows how incapable Obama is.

As for Palin, she won't even be a factor in the 2011 primaries.

We need to 'define victory' because the U.S. has entered into conflicts with no set goal or objective.

We develop 'mission creep' and we begin to 'nation build' instead of destroy the enemy, which was why we there in the first place.

I have no doubt that she has said it and even believes it!

Her supporters here have stated that she resigned because of her own financial problems.

Whatever the reason given, it was the wrong decision.

You don't give into extortionists.

An amazing post!

And you think I am a Romney supporter?

You Palin supporters better hope she doesn't run in 2011, because if you can't handle these simple questions, you are going to fall apart when the primaries start and the issue of why she chose to quit rather then fight and remain in office will really be addressed.

Regarding the Navy Seals. I wasn’t there and don’t know what happened...neither do you

I know that they were capturing TERRORISTS.

And the above comment says all that needs to be said about you.

You are coming close to inciting insurrection....that is treason.....it is NEVER right in our system of government. You need to stop it right now....you will hurt our troops in the field. STOP putting your politics ahead of your patrotism. You need to develop a little faith that things WILL ultimately work out. However, attempting to destroy a POTUS (even one you don’t like) when he is actually doing something in the right directiion...is counterproductive.

This is the United States of America, not Nazi Germany.

The responsiblity of the citizens is to question the use of American troops and it is Congress responsiblity to make sure that they are used for the right reasons.

Sending anymore troops to Afgan. is nothing more then wasting more U.S. lives.

You keep your 'faith' in Obama.

The question she is going to answer is why she quit

In her own words, she gave several reasons, but you don't care to hear what she said. First she said she thought it better for the state of Alaska that she step down. That way her conservative agenda could be forwarded by her Lt. Gov, who shares her vision, yet cannot be impeded in implementing it by these lib trolls that have gone after her. Second, she spoke of family and getting out of the debt she has incurred fighting these nonsensical slurs. Third, and most important to me, she could focus on coming against the horrors that are happening to our country through the lib takeover. She has already helped derail health care, constantly stands up to Bambi and the dems on their economic, energy, social, and foreign policy stoopidity. She's the only one doing that on a consistent basis from the Republican party.

Frankly, I think what she's doing is wonderful, and if you are any kind of conservative, you ought to stand up and be applauding.

You don’t seem to understand that my stand has nothing to do with supporting President Obama. It is about putting my fellow American’s and fellow military personnel first. Dessention in the ranks is death for the military.

I voted against Mr. Obama in 2008 and will do so again in 2012. I do not care for his politics or person. However, winning in Afghanistan is important for this country’s security. To me, this isn’t about making POTUS Obama looking good or bad, it is about the nation’s security. I won’t sacrifice the nation for political purposes, regardless of what the left wing is doing.

Hi there, Captain Kirk --- I am curious as to whether we actually know what any of HER on foreign policy issues are; afterall, wasn't she pretty much shackled during the McLame campaign to whatever his "advisors" insisted that she say??

Several months ago, I would have agreed with you. Since then, however, she has gone out of her way to advertise her foreign policy. The last straw for me was her joint letter to Obama signed by a rogue's gallery (no pun intended) of neo-cons including Kristol (Sarah's debate coach), Podhoritz, and Frum. See here.

You may not be a civilian, but I am, so it is my responsibility to aggressively resist this waste of U.S. lives.

There will be no victory in Afgan. because none is being sought.
