Three months ago, I joined a number of Americans in urging President Obama to provide the resources necessary to achieve our goals in Afghanistan. Tonight, I am glad he mostly heeded that advice........
Naaaaaah
This is what you said:
“Well, since she is the first governor I know of that did so”
So I pointed out that plenty of governors have resigned before.
Then you tried to claim that:
“Those Governors who were under pressure to resign,”
So I pointed out that every single governor that has resigned was under some kind of pressure too.
It doesn't really matter what the pressure is, the fact of the matter is that plenty of governors HAVE resigned.
In Sarah Palin’s case, it was the most noble kind of pressure there is: The desire to feed and take care of her family like anyone should.
What?
Reagan ran for president one year after he became governor. If he won the presidency, he would have of course resigned.
And he should have resigned anyway while preparing and then running for president, instead of collecting a tax payers pay check while running for a higher office.
Her finances were ALWAYS an issue.
So now the REAL truth comes out.
It was about HER not the State.
You have not been paying attention have you? Now why don't you trying paying your bills and feeding your family, when you are making only about $100,000 per year, and your legal bils are piling up at the rate of $500,000 every 4 months?
100,000 sounds like a lot of money to me!
And the legal fees could have been paid for by the legal defense fund AFTER she left office.
She could have appealed for a legal defense fund and raised millions to help her.
You don't know anything do you? She already did. The 0bamabot vermin lawyers took legal action to block her from taking any money from any legal defense fund or even her PAC. This was clearly a mission to destroy not just her, they were out to destroy her entire family and her life.
And she had no other recourse then to give in their demands and quit the Governorship, which the People of Alaska had elected her to.
She betrayed everyone who voted for her for governor.
Now she is hitting back and hitting back hard, and bottom feeders like you, who thought they had her pinned down, are not happy about it.
Oh yea, she is really changing things with her book!
LOL!
Good!
You really are living in another reality aren't you!
Yes, if you are bored with being Governor and want to raise money and be on the national scene.
Naaaaah. If you care about feeding you family, and you care about not leaving your children distititute.
On 100,000 a year?
And she does have a working husband as well, doesn't she?
And she has many supporters who would glady have donated money to her legal defense fund which she could have used AFTER she left office.
I would have sent her some money!
They agree with her quitting?
Her poll numbers wouldn't be shooting UP if voters did not agree with her account of what really went on and why she resigned would they?
The poll numbers show she is popular, that is all.
She also has very high negatives as well.
No one is denying she isn't popular-NOW. But she will fade quickly on the political scene
In your dreams. This happens to be real life. She has suffered the baptism of fire, been attacked more viciously than any political figure in contemporary history, been written off as finished after the 2008 elections, and still bounced back strongly and confounded her skeptics, and is winning. The facts don't support your contention.
She has QUIT under fire.
And she hasn't been attacked more then Reagan was, nowhere near it!
For the sake of her family, she won't run in 2011.
So don't get your hopes up.
3 years is a long time in politics.
I remember after 2001, Rudy was going to be the candidate for the GOP and Hillary for the Democrats.
How did that work out?
The real truth huh?
When was the fact that she was being financially ruined by legals bills from frivolous lawsuits against her as governor ever a secret?
The CONTEXT was under pressure from frivolous lawsuits.
Reagan would never have resigned because Democrats were trying to force him out.
And again, the question was raised, how many Governors who have resigned have run for President, not Governors who ran for President and would have resigned had they won.
Try BOTH.
This is a win win.
The state wins because hey are able to get on with the business of running a state without fraudulent lawsuits from your pal 0bozo’s hired lawyers to screw the state up.
Sarah Palin wins by making enough money from her book to pay her legals bills, take care of her family, an put away a nice nest egg, while at the same time burnishing her credentials for 2012, and sending her poll ratings UP.
What is there not to like?
Ah yes.. I forgot. The bottom feeding vermin are spitting and snarling because she is..horror of horrors.... making plenty of money, is now rising in the polls, and she refused to sit down quietly and be used as a political football by hired hatchet men lawyers paid by 0bama and Soros.
Well, TOUGH!
Under the CONTEXT of frivolous lawsuits.
So I pointed out that plenty of governors have resigned before.
And how many then ran for President?
Then you tried to claim that: Those Governors who were under pressure to resign, So I pointed out that every single governor that has resigned was under some kind of pressure too.
You really do have a problem with thinking contextually don't you!
Being under self-induced pressure (such as Stanford of S.C.) isn't the same as the pressure that the Democrats were putting on Palin, which was simply political pettiness.
Now, stop lying about what I said.
It doesn't really matter what the pressure is, the fact of the matter is that plenty of governors HAVE resigned.
It does matter what kind of pressure it is.
If they resigned for something they did, they had good reason to resign.
If they were trying to be forced out, they didn't have a good reason to resign, as Palin didn't.
And that is why her supporters are so desperate to find a good reason for her doing so.
In Sarah Palins case, it was the most noble kind of pressure there is: The desire to feed and take care of her family like anyone should.
She can't feed her family on 100,000$ a year?
She also has a working husband doesn't she?
She decided that she didn't want to be Governor anymore.
Fine.
Then she shouldn't expect to be President either.
The pressures and demands are far greater as President then as Gov.
Do you think those that voted for her wanted her to quit on them because of phony lawsuits?
She quit because it was easier on her.
Sarah Palin wins by making enough money from her book to pay her legals bills, take care of her family, an put away a nice nest egg, while at the same time burnishing her credentials for 2012, and sending her poll ratings UP. What is there not to like?
The GOP won't nominate someone who quit their elected office under Democrat prssure.
You are delusional to think otherwise.
Ah yes.. I forgot. The bottom feeding vermin are spitting and snarling because she is..horror of horrors.... making plenty of money, is now rising in the polls, and she refused to sit down quietly and be used as a political football by hired hatchet men lawyers paid by 0bama and Soros. Well, TOUGH!
Let her make millions, just don't ask me to trust her as President.
She put her needs above the needs of the State she was elected to serve.
She allowed herself to be bullied out of office.
If she can be intimidated by lawsuits, what is she going to do against terrorists who will use human lives to force her to back down.
The real truth huh? When was the fact that she was being financially ruined by legals bills from frivolous lawsuits against her as governor ever a secret?
No, the real truth of why she REALLY resigned.
Now, don't tell me she couldn't have raised millions in a defense fund that she could have used to pay her legal bills after she left office.
And again, the question was raised, how many Governors who have resigned have run for President, not Governors who ran for President and would have resigned had they won.
You are missing the point. It is more ethical to resign when preparing a run and running for higher office than it is to stay in office collecting a tax payers paycheck while preparing for a run.
Sarah resigning to prepare for a presidential run, is the more ethical approach. And I would add, the frivilous ethical complaints in Alaska would have become more valid had Sarah prepared for a run while staying on as governor.
You see?
Those who voted for her, also voted for the lieutenant governor, no?
With the express purpose of having the lieutenant governor take over if the governor resigned.
I don't see Alaskans(apart from the 0bamabot bottom feeders of course) complaining that she resigned so the goverment could run without being hobbled down with fraudulent lawsuits.
If Alaskans are happy, and 76% opf Republicans(according ton the latest polls) are happy with her, why on earth would I care if an 0bamabot vermin is crying because she resigned and is now making lotsa money.
I can only REJOICE in that.
I hate to break the news to you, but she isn't running for President.
And poll numbers have a way of changing very quickly.
This is the first quarter, not the fourth.
And she hasn't even said she plans to run for President.
She has said she is concentrating on the 2010 elections, which is what we should be doing, not wasting time speculating on 2011.
No one thought that Obama would be the Democrat nominee in 2001 and not Hillary, who had worked 8 years putting herself in position to win the nomination.
Her supporters were as fervent as Palin's are now.
Yeah?
How did that work out for Bill Clinton?
If I remember correctly, both Bill Clinton and Hilary Clinton had to write books, before they were finally able to pay off all their debts from when he was president. They were financially hamstrung for years.
Meanwhile, how do you propose that Sarah Palin took care of her family even as her legal bills piled up from fraudulent lawsuits from 0bozo’s hired thugs?
“And she had no other recourse then to give in their demands and quit the Governorship, which the People of Alaska had elected her to. “
For the business of the Alaska government to be run effectively, the best thing she could do was to resign.
It worked out just great.
Her lieutenant governor, who was elected for exactly such a purpose (to take over in case the governor resigned), who took her place is an excellent governor. It's not like she was the only human being in Alaska that could run the sate.
It's a win win for everybody apart from the 0bamabot vermin, who are spitting and snarling because she is riding the popularity of her book to raising poll numbers, making money, and is set to present a very strong challenge for 2013 should she run.
The ethics complaints would have become valid had Sarah stayed on as governor collecting a tax payers paycheck while at the same time traveling the lower 48 in preparation of a presidential run.
Post #234 was for you, fortheDeclaration.
The good old nuance from the loony left huh? So what's new?
A context isn't a nuance!
So what part of 'same circumstances' don't you understand?
It means under pressure from frivolous lawsuits.
So I didn't say no governors ever resigned, I said no governor ever resigned due to pressure from frivolous lawsuits.
FACT: You don't know what Reagan would have done under the same circumstances, because Reagan never had to deal with the same circumstances. Ergo, your statement that Reagan wouldn't have reassigned under the same corcumtsnces IS false.
I know how he handled far greater pressure in the White House.
The fact is that she did quit under pressure and no one who quits under those circumstances, should have a higher office.
You are kidding right?
And if you think Palin has gotten heat in the past, it will be nothing compared to a Presidental run.
No one has said they are running for 2012 either. There is nothing new about that.
It's way too early for that.
No one decrclared for the presidency till 2007. Not Hilary. Not 0bama.
“And poll numbers have a way of changing very quickly.”
Yes..for the better..as Sarah Palin’s have, despite vicious attacks from the media and the left wing loons.
“This is the first quarter, not the fourth”
There are more games, where the leader in the first is also the winner in the 4th.
“And she hasn't even said she plans to run for President.”
She hasn't ruled it out either.
And you are repeating yourself.
Read up.
“She has said she is concentrating on the 2010 elections, which is what we should be doing, not wasting time speculating on 2011.’
That's what everyone is saying.
That doesn't mean no one would run for president in 2012.
“No one thought that Obama would be the Democrat nominee in 2001 and not Hillary, who had worked 8 years putting herself in position to win the nomination”
No one thought Sarah Palin would bounnce back so quickly, after the 2008 elections, and after she resigned from office either. But she has.
“Her supporters were as fervent as Palin’s are now.”
And she ended up winning more of the popular vote than 0bama did in the Democratic Party primaries.
You continue not to see what the choices were.
Sarah resigning to prepare for a presidential run, is the more ethical approach. The frivolous ethical complaints in Alaska would have become legitimate Sarah-isn't-doing-her-job complaints had Sarah prepared for a run traveling the lower 48 while staying on as governor.
Thank you for highlighting the facts of Palin’s response.
It was getting old last night dealing with the Palin haters who picked and choosed what they think she said vs. the facts.
If a person has a criticism of Sarah Palin such as, I don’t like her because she supports the troops and winning the war
or I don’t like her because she wants a secure border, etc.
that is their opinion
The twisting of facts and outright false statements and snarky comments against Sarah only proves the attacker is desperate
