Reagan would never have ever resigned being Governor. What? Reagan ran for president one year after he became governor. If he won the presidency, he would have of course resigned. And he should have resigned anyway while preparing and then running for president, instead of collecting a tax payers pay check while running for a higher office.

You are missing the point. It is more ethical to resign when preparing a run and running for higher office than it is to stay in office collecting a tax payers paycheck while preparing for a run.

Sarah resigning to prepare for a presidential run, is the more ethical approach. And I would add, the frivilous ethical complaints in Alaska would have become more valid had Sarah prepared for a run while staying on as governor.
