And we can quickly point our fingers back at him for lowering his sentence allowing the parole board to grant him parole ... if he kept his nose out of it that guy would still be in prison and four cops still alive .... what a jerk.

“which does not square with the prosecutor’s recollection.”

Is this the same prosecutor that failed to file charges for violent felonies for 3 years? Resulting in this scum bag being released on those charges.

Nobody ever granted clemency. Huckabee reduced the guys sentence from 97 to 43 years. The parole board which the Governor has no control over paroled him. After he was paroled he violated his parole and was sent back to jail and later on they paroled him again. Recently, in Washington, he was released on $15K bond following an arrest for child molestation. He had 8 felony arrests in Washington after he left Arkansas.

I have never liked Huckabee. I have always considered him a phony. He has pardoned many violent offenders and always tries to slime his way out of it. He is not a stand up guy, he is a phony politician who will say anything. I still don't understand how people were dumb enough to vote for him in the presidential primaries.

The prison system is broken. Everyone knows its broken. Huckster would made a terrible President but laying all the blame on his doorstep for this one is silly and pure politics.

The system failed spectacularly. The parole board, the prosecutor, judges, lawyers, and the Gov all carry blame.

How many more of these animals have been released in every single state??

Full disclosure: I voted for Huck in the ‘08 primaries to send a message to McCain (Huck was the only choice left).

That being said, I've never understood why this guy had any traction with Conservatives at all, and he was seen as a rising star @2004.

His lack of personal responsibility and accountability on this is shameful.

Handing out over 1,000 commutations doesn't make you compassionate, it makes you reckless. You have to KNOW that some of the folks you're letting back out on the streets (at that rate) are going to cause harm to innocents. He was derelict in his duty to keep law abiding citizens safe.

The blood of four upstanding LEOs is on your hands, Huck, and no amount of spinning and finger pointing is going to change that.

Huckabee is a fair Bass Guitar player. He should stick to what he knows.

How soon before the ‘Huckster’ takes a page from Zero’s book and blames Bush?

The buck stops with Huck. He has blood on his hands and his weak and pathetic stand “that it was someone else’s responsibility to tell him he was doing wrong” is a pile of dung.

Sorry Huck — too much liberalism with your pardons and commutations. That cannot stand with anyone who calls themselves a conservative and supposes to support the law and our justice system (what is left of it).

Not a Huck fan, but at least he didn’t run from the guy with the microphone like all those sleazy judges and liberal politicians.

I will likely get in trouble here for my statement. However, those who use their religion to advance their personal success are not to be trusted. They are most often like the mega-church "businessmen" or radio/TV evangelist con men. Huckabee is as much a con man as Jim Baker. Now he has been caught in a politically charged consequence of his soft headed pandering while governor.

Hopefully, this marks the end of his political career. I certainly will continue to not watch him on Fox.

From what I’ve read, at 0245 hours today a Seattle patrolman ended the problem by killing the a$$hat convict copkiller.
