Romney ‘Loves’ Government-Run Health Care (**FLASHBACK 05/04/2007**)

Romney can bite me. I didn’t like him before and nothing that has happened since has changed my opinion. He is a Huckabee (aka Teh Huckster) that got his laws passed. And now he is scrambling to spin the outcome.

The problem Romney has is the same as with most of the public company CEO types. They are just as prone to anti-free market BS as any leftist. He is a giant va-jaj-jay.

I saw a CSPAN2 segment with the Chick-fil-A founder and current CEO (the founder’s son) and all I could do is wish there were about 10000 more like them.

I’ll search for a thread on that segment and if there isn’t one already up I’ll post it.

The Electoral College is not a restaurant menu. You need 270 to win the Presidency. To get them you need to herd together enough voters to win states = 270 electoral votes.

You don’t win without compromising something. That is reality.

The other part of the equation which is actually more important is getting control over Congress, particularly the House, but I’ll take both over the Presidency any day.

Look what happened to Clinton’s agenda after the Republicans took over.

We’re naive to think we’ll reset the clock in one election. We need to win and keep on winning year after year to get where we want to go. To do that it will take RINOs.

No way would Romney accept a VP spot under Palin. But it’s a moot point, because there’s no way Palin is going to get the Presidential nomination in 2012. If she really gets her act together and educates herself in a hurry, she *might* have a shot at the VP spot again, and if Romney got the Presidential nomination and offered her the VP spot she’d grab it without hesitation. Amount spent means nothing, as Romney has a large pool of funds...Romney got 4.5 million votes, Huckabee got 4.1 million votes, McCain 9.8 million votes...

The key is the primaries...in a "3-way race" with Romney, Huckabee and Palin, the more conservative vote could easily split between Huckabee and Palin, giving Romney an edge in the early delegate counts ...magritte
