Dear Conservativegreatgrandma;

I have sat here for some weeks now reading your posts and trying to figure out how you, after all these years still reach the party-line conclusions. In fact my post on this very thread was a direct reference to you. Perhaps you've always lived in GOP strongholds or have never had a RINOs performance directly affect your family, your Rights. You have been on FR a very, very long time. Trolls and shills don't last long around here, so I figure your intents are honest.

So here is what I have to say to you. Pick it apart all you want, I'll not be responding to you ever again. I come from a place that is a state full of RINOs. My republican senator is less responsive than my democrat house representative, Kucinich. There is little I care for about either one.

Here is what I know from where I stand, since 1980 I have voted Republican even in the last election when I didn't have a voice in the nominee. The whole “big tent” idea lost an election. I want to repeat that, the whole big tent idea lost the election. Millions of conservatives turned out to vote, we held our nose and pulled the lever for McCain...even though we knew it was because of Palin we were even bothering to vote.

The big tent idea for me means big government. You, I, nor any one party can have a big tent without violating the Constitution. The GOP doesn't need to win the middle, they lost because they lost the appeasement vote. WE voted and they still lost, not because of us but because the big tent collapsed. McCain couldn't lead, all he did was offer appeasements and we still lost.

Thomas Paine has a special name for moderates, evil. I have slowly over the last decade come to agree with that view. RINO’s are what has made the GOP lose its way. The lurch to the left hasn't been just the democrats, the republicans too have moved very far left. If they had stood by their principles we may have lost a few, but we would be winning the war right now. Leaders should lead, not appease.

Conservative have chosen to no longer appease the corrupted GOP. They are corrupted right now like a bad computer chip. The question is if we can get rid of the RINO virus. We stopped sending money, we stopped campaigning for them, we even stopped voting and yet...RINOs and Democrats win on appeasement, not leadership.

Your ongoing denial of the failings of the GOP is a puzzle to me. Appeasement isn't going to save this nation, it is destroying it and the GOP is as much at fault as the democrats.

On my local level, it was conservatives and tea party folks who finally overturned the structure of county government in the last election. Not the GOP, they came along for the ride.

Jan. we're holding our first 8hr. Freedom Seminar...the GOP?

Things are moving and changing. Does it mean a third party will emerge? Third parties never win. Funny, that's what they said about the GOP some many years ago, when in one election cycle they won the heart of a nation. At that time the issue was slavery and the only difference now is who the master will be.

See my tagline. It is our Right as promised to us in the Declaration of Independence.

Again, you're alleging something I've never said or even believe. Let me put this in very simple terms. I don't like RINOs any better than anyone else. I believe we use the primary process to always try to improve the quality of our party. That is where we must do it.

AFTER the primary is over, we all vote Republican because the RAT alternative is so much worse.

I have never claimed the GOP does not have failings. Of couse, we're all human. You know what, if you were an elected official, you would never please everyone all the time, either and I bet when you would leave office, you would look back and have regrets about some of your votes.

It is unrealistic to expect perfection here on earth.

I rarely even read long posts but I read yours. It was worth it. I’ve spent several hours reading this thread (which I am disgusted with myself for not getting more done on my day off!) but this entire complex situation is resolved in that post. It’s not that we wouldn’t compromise, it’s that we have ALREADY compromised and suffered because of it.

It is time to make our stand, Americans are getting fed up. There is change in the wind. Our time has come and we cannot let it pass.
