Apparently there are still some posters on FR who are fast asleep. Wake up! Dammit! We are in the middle of a conservative rebellion! While you were sleeping we, along with millions of other freedom loving grassroots Americans have participated in hundreds of tea parties all across this great land and fully intend to keep it up until all of America is awake. We are fed up and mad as hell! We grassroots Americans are delivering a message to the ruling class: NO MORE!!
No more big government! No more high taxes! No more government bailouts! No more government takeovers! No government healthcare! No more corruption! No more global baloneyism!!
We're sick and tired of liberals and RINOs running roughshod over our God given Liberty!
We want our country back! We want our freedom back! We want it all back!!
No more socialism!!
Cut the taxes! Cut the spending! Cut the government!
Restore the constitutional limits on government! Restore our freedom!!
And not only no, but HELL NO to liberals and RINOS!!
Free Republic will not support RINOS!! Rudy McRomney, et al, can go straight to hell!!
The strategy is we win, they lose.
Any questions?
You ran to the mods like a little girl. lol
This thread is hilarious.
*!!*
Oh.
Okers.
Probably should rest some.
I know that it has been a long day on this end of things.
We all have long days ahead of us.
Politically and literally.
Just do the best you can to fight tooth and nail to get someone other than a RINO or a Dim to the primary.
Tell me about it!
NY, the place that brought us Tammany Hall and Boss Tweed.
We have Aileen Gunther, widow of Jake Gunther.
Jake.. was a liberal jacka.. er.. um.. jerk.
You could respect him because he believed his convictions and stuck to his guns.
But he was a liberal jerk that was easily despised.
He tried to shakeup NY politics, and paid for it.
Sheldon Silver didn’t like Jake trying to usurp his stranglehold on NY.
So he did every scumbag thing he could to punish Jake.
Jake died of a heart attack not too long afterwards.
His wife Aileen ran for his seat.
Won too.
Here’s the sick part.
She’s a Dem, but is on the conservative ticket in NY.
Compared to her late husband and most of Albany.. she is.
Which is why politics here in NY are so dangerous.
And rustrating.
(She does hold the 2nd amendment to be self evident and a right of the people, I have e-mailed her about NY’s laws on that. Which makes her an odd bird in this state to be sure.)
If you want to tear your hair out and babble insanely, just try and make sense of NY state politics.
The conservatives we wanted in here in NY in this last election..
Well, as said, you saw what happened in NY 23 with Scuzzyflava.
This sort of thing is par for the course in NY.
I live here and I can’t even make sense of NY.
(We had a local town rep commit acts of vandalism against herself so she could claim victimhood. Like.. having someone dump a horsehead in her pool.)
Let me reply by saying it's far more conceivable today than 6 months ago. The NY 23rd race taught us that. If it hadn't been for Scozzafava's vote Hoffman would have won. In the end, Scozzafava had more votes than Hoffman's deficit. That's in New York. If New York (albeit a fairly conservative district) can come this far, I suspect things are much different elsewhere than what we're used to.
Right now, all this is speculation. It's a year before the next general election. A lot can change. But what do you see in the wind that makes you believe will be same ol', same ol' come 2010? The only issue I see that can cause that is Amnesty. And that's still in the future. All bets are off at this point.
Jim is owner of this site. He has the right to set policy for Free Republic and I for one welcome his opinion. That doesn't mean we have to be in lockstep. But it defines the parameters of this site and that has to be taken into consideration when considering discussion. But let's not dismiss public opinion so cavalierly, when there's wind in our sails.
Thanks, that is exactly what I have been doing.
Insist on a conservative. The RiNO will screw you in the long run everytime. Support Chuck DeVore and get him elected!
I told my daughter that I couldn't tell if this thread was kindergarten or an old folks home. She said the only difference is a few wrinkles.
Come on Bob tell us what you REALLY think. I think we need your input. Pick a side. hahaha
So, I guess had you lived in the NY23rd district a few weeks ago, you wouldn't have voted for Hoffman. After all, He wasn't the Democrat, nor was he the Republican. Thanks for clearing that up.
It’s both...dementia.
Welcome.
Stay safe.
Well, she reminds me of the perot factor regarding the publicity and reaction she’s getting!!
I’m sorry. i missed this.
“We all had the same choice last November and it was too late to ask why.”
“So how should we have voted RINO, Dim or third party?”
Helllooooo! Don’t you get it? Last November is exactly why we don’t want to EVER be in that position again. Our candidates were already picked before we even knew what hit us. NO ONE foresaw barack. NO ONE. We were so consumed with fighting hillary, we wandered into some damn abyss and ended up HERE.
And I will tell you the honest truth. If Palin hadn’t been on the ticket, I would have stayed home.
One goes out the way they came in? ;-)
I'm not trying to be difficult but getting a conservative past the primary isn't usually possible and we are left with bad cholces. Ones that pretty much dictate that we vote for the RINO.
I voted for Arnold. Won’t be making that mistake again.
My side? Fight like hell to get your man/woman into the general then support the person who will give you the most of what you want.
It’s called pragmatism, or here on FR what they call evil.
