UFO Chaser: Aliens Involved in Mysterious Calf Mutilations (FoxNews)

A creepy string of calf mutilations in southern Colorado has a rancher and sheriff's officials mystified.

Four calves were found dead in a pasture just north of the New Mexico state line in recent weeks. The dead calves had their skins peeled back and organs cleared from the rib cage. One calf had its tongue removed.

But rancher Manuel Sanchez has found no signs of human attackers, such as footprints or ATV tracks. And there are no signs of an animal attack by a coyote or mountain lion. Usually predators leave pools of blood or drag marks from carrying away the livestock.

Two officers from the Costilla County Sheriff's Office have investigated the mutilations but say they don't know what's killing the calves.

"There's nothing really to go by," said Sanchez, who's ranched for nearly 50 years. "I can't figure it out."

A spokesman for the sheriff's office told The Pueblo Chieftain that investigators doubt a person butchered the calves because there is no blood at the scene.

I’m going to have to go with “glib derision” on this one.

_____

If you’re reading this, and you’re a cow, first let me say congratulations on learning how to read, suspicious bovine. Secondly, let me say that you’re totally out of luck. Aliens are coming to chop you up for their experiments.

According to UFO enthusiasts, cattle mutilations are the work of aliens gathering the organs and tissues of the earth’s dumbest creatures so that they can run nefarious experiments. Apparently, this sort of thing happens thousands, if not millions of times each year in North America alone. The UFO enthusiasts, always eager to make their crackpot beliefs appear scientific, have even come up with a fancy name for it: Mutology, the study of animal mutilations.

The basic story runs like this: a farmer comes out to the pastures, where he finds a couple of his cows have been killed. But not just killed - they’ve been torn apart! Some of their organs or genitals have been removed, and some UFO enthusiasts go so far as to claim they’ve been sprayed with luminescent paint, used to identify them in the dark.

So, it’s simply a case of organ harvesting by beings from beyond, right? Not quite. Like all things paranormal in nature, there’s no such thing as a simple definition. Some cattle are found dead with no apparent cause of death, not a single mark on their bodies. Others are found torn to ribbons. Sometimes it’s the tongues, genitals, specific organs, muscle tissue, skin, eyes, hooves...basically, the aliens have a long, long shopping list. What it comes down to is this: if your cattle is dead, no matter what happened to it, you can construe it as an alien cattle mutilation.

Surely, you say, there must be some evidence to support this crazy ass theory. There is. Here’s the UFO enthusiasts’ argument that aliens are killing our cattle, in it’s entirety: since we can’t prove that they’re not doing it, they must be doing it. That’s it. That’s as complicated as it gets. The argument that there are solely natural forces at work, explanations that require no beings from other planets, is a lot better.

For instance: the FBI has investigated cattle mutilations. A man named Kenneth Rommel, an FBI agent, was chosen to head up a program called “Operationa Animal Mutilation” in 1979. Over the course of that year he spent almost $45,000 investigating cattle mutilations. I’m no economist, but if my calculations are correct, $45,000 in 1979 is the equivalent of at least seventy billion dollars today. I’m just saying...there were probably some better things to spend that money on at the time. Because crazy people think that space people are coming to make hamburgers of our heifers, somewhere in the country someone went without food or shelter. If you’ve ever wondered why I’m so dead-set against these deranged fantasies of space people, this is why. My tax dollars, even as we speak, are being used to convince loons of the obvious.

But I digress. What did Rommel discover? Of all the cases he investigated, none lacked a natural explanation. The cows died and predators (buzzards, flies, skunks, whatever) came a long and ate some of them. Sometimes, they made a mess doing it. That’s all. No spaceships. No alien surgeons. Nothing that doesn’t have a reasonable explanation. These sort of investigations happen all the time; never, ever, has an animal carcass been brought before scientists that couldn’t be explained in simple, reasonable terms.

Ah, but the UFO enthusiasts have an ace up their sleeve! We can’t trust scientific reason, because scientists are all allied with the government, which is trying to cover up the plague of alien cow slaughters. You see, cattle mutilations aren’t associated with just crop circles and lights in the skies, but also with sightings of, you guessed it, silent Black Helicopters. Either these helicopters are the property of some secret branch of the government that works at the beck and call of their alien masters, or they’re UFOs that have somehow been camouflaged as helicopters. If you’ve started getting the feeling that the UFO group is a little paranoid and has trouble with logical thought, welcome to my world.

I may have been born on a farm, but I don’t count myself as an expert on livestock. For that I turn to farmer-type people, who, for the most part, have been offering simple explanations since this whole things started. Cattle killed without any blood being spilled on the ground? My rustic friends point out that when an animal is dead, the heart does not pump, which makes it hard for blood to be spilled. If blood is spilled, it pools underneath the body, where you can only find it after moving the body. Not something most casual witnesses do.

Some of what is spilled before the moment of death is usually consumed by hungry bugs unless you find the body right away. Those cuts that appear to be from a scalpel, making the incision through which the animal’s organs were removed? Believe it or not, the teeth of predators are very sharp, and can sometimes resemble knife cuts. Surprised that the eyes, genitals, and mucous membranes of the animals are removed while the juicy organs are left behind? It is of no use to point out to the UFO enthusiast that cow hides are exceptionally tough, and a variety of predators, such as small mammals, birds, flies, and the like, prefer to eat the vulnerable parts of the animal first rather than trying to work their way through the tough hide. It’s not a question of alien involvement. It’s a question of predatory animals being lazy and not wanting to do the work to get to the innards.

In the end, nothing I write will ever convince the diehard UFO enthusiasts the error of their ways. This evidence is nothing new; it’s not even anything that takes a whole lot of critical thought. Anytime an animal is found dead, they’ll come out of the woodwork and scream about UFO space people, no matter how obvious the cause of death may be, or what the nature of the wounds are. They are content to sit and say that although they have no proof aliens are involved, we have no proof that aliens are not involved. And this is true. But, as always, I ask you what is more likely: aliens have conquered the non-trivial problem of travel between the stars, only to get to earth and attack our fattest, ugliest animals; or perhaps mother nature is just a shred more complicated than the narrow views of the UFO enthusiasts will admit?

Cows and various other animals, rest easy tonight. You may have to worry about disease, predators, and the eventuality that you will become both my shoes and my dinner, but you don’t have to worry about UFOs chopping you up to get at your organs.

Initially, there were only the critters doing it.

I realize you may THINK you

KNOW soooooooooooooooo much about ET psychology, society, needs, preferences, tastes, requirements, goals and objectives

that you can be CERTAIN that

the ET’s/fallen angels COULD NOT POSSIBLY be doing such things.

However, please consider me skeptical about that. I don’t think you do.

In any case . . . probably for 20 years or more, supposedly humans have had their teams doing such things, too. Some experts think it’s about 50/50 ET’s vs humans doing it.

Supposedly the humans are not doing it to humans.

Are you aware how many people turn up missing EVERY YEAR? JUST MISSING—VANISHED WITHOUT A TRACE?

They are not all disenchanged spouses by a long shot.

"They are OBVIOUSLY NOT predator caused.

Predators won’t go near them."

A mothball or two in the area would do that...

I don’t have to “try” to make sense of it. Our family has owned a cattle ranch for over 50 years and I have seen it with my own eyes.

I don't doubt that you've seen what you've seen. What you haven't seen, is what all these other ranchers are talking about.

I think your knee-jerk dismissal of these cattle mutilation reports shows a certain close-mindedness on your part. I've said that I don't have personal knowledge of what the real truth is here. Perhaps you could look at this phenomenon and realize that you don't have the truth either.

From:

http://www.crystalinks.com/animal_mutilation.html

Cattle Mutilation Phenomena refers to thousands of cases in North America where cattle have been found mutilated under abnormal circumstances. Sheep, horses or even humans have also been similarly mutilated, according to some accounts. Many mutilated cattle have been found marked with fluorescent paint, probably to help identify them in the dark.

The cows are found dead (although the cause of death is undetermined), exsanguinated (all their blood has been removed). Precise “laser-precision” cuts are observed in the mutilated cattle. They have had certain organs surgically removed from their bodies. Often their reproductive and rectal organs have been removed.

Abnormally high radiation levels have been detected near the dead animals when they are found, and scavengers will not touch the carcass. There are no footprints leading to or from the cows. There is evidence (clamp marks on the animals’ legs) that the cattle were taken from their habitats and mutilated elsewhere. Sightings of UFOs and strange, unmarked, black helicopters coincide with many cattle mutilation cases.

There is no consensus that the phenomenon actually exists, or if it does exist, what causes the phenomenon. The number of animals said to be mutilated under unusual circumstances is unclear, but proponents argue it may be in the thousands. Ranchers are often said to be reluctant to come forward and report animals mutilated under odd circumstances, due to several factors: the associated ridicule, fear of reprisal, and the financial costs of securing necropsy for dead livestock.

Opinions are divided as to the nature and causes of this phenomenon. Some argue that there is no unusual “cattle mutilation” and that people are misinterpreting normal animal deaths. Some attribute these mutilations to extraterrestrials; UFOs are sometimes reported in conjunction with alleged mutilations. Others have suggested that secretive governmental or military agencies may be involved. Some observers have taken a more agnostic approach, arguing that some mutilations do indeed appear odd, but do not offer enough data to reach an informed conclusion. Yet this remains a world phenomenon.

Kansas 1897

An account by Alexander Hamilton of Leroy, Kansas, supposedly occurred about April 19, 1897, and was published in the Yates Center Farmer’s Advocate of April 23. Hamilton, his son, and a tenant witnessed an airship hovering over his cattle pen. Upon closer examination, the witnesses realized that a red “cable” from the airship had lassoed a heifer, but had also become entangled in the pen’s fence.

After trying unsuccessfully to free the heifer, Hamilton cut loose a portion of the fence, then “stood in amazement to see the ship, cow and all rise slowly and sail off.” (Jacobs, 15) Some have suggested this was the earliest report of cattle mutilation. This was part of a larger wave of so-called mystery airship sightings. (In 1982, however, UFO researcher Jerome Clark debunked this story, and confirmed via interviews and Hamilton’s own affidavit that the story was a successful attempt to win a Liar’s Club competition to create the most outlandish tall tale). Most of the allegedly unusual mutilations, however, date from the 1960s with cases continuing to the present.

Colorado 1967

The first allegedly strange death of livestock—or at least the first widely-publicized case—comes from near Alamosa, Colorado, in 1967. On September 7 of that year, Agnes King and her son Harry noted that Snippy (The real name of the animal was Lady, but the media quickly adopted the name Snippy, which has stuck), a three-year-old horse had not returned to the ranch at the usual time for her water. This was unusual, given the heat and the arid conditions.

Harry found Snippy on September 9. Her head and neck had been skinned and defleshed, the bones were white and clean. To King, the cuts on Snippy seemed to have been very precise. There was no blood at the scene, according to Harry, and there was a strong medicinal odor in the air.

The next day, Harry and Agnes returned to the scene with Mr. and Mrs. Berle Lewis, who were Agnes’ brother and sister-in-law. They found a lump of skin and horse flesh; when Mrs. Lewis touched it, the flesh oozed a greenish fluid which burned her hand. They also reported the discovery of fifteen tapering, circular exhaust marks punched into the ground over some 5000 square yards. (Saunders and Harkins, 156) The medicinal odor had weakened somewhat, but was still present.

Mrs. Lewis contacted the United States Forest Service, and Ranger Duane Martin was sent to investigate. Among other tasks, Martin checked the area with a civil defense Geiger counter. He reported finding a considerable increase in radioactivity about two city blocks from the body. (Saunders and Harkins, 157) Later, Martin would state, “The death of this saddle pony is one of the most mysterious sights I’ve ever witnessed ... I’ve seen stock killed by lightning, but it was never like this.”

After trying to interest other authorities with little success, Mrs. Lewis turned to her professional connections: She wrote occasionally for the Pueblo Chieftain. Her account of Snippy’s strange death was published in that newspaper, and was picked up by the Associated Press on October 5, 1967. Soon, much of the United States knew the tale of Snippy’s death, and reports of UFO’s were made from others in Colorado. That same day, an account by Superior Court Judge Charles E. Bennett of Denver, Colorado, saw publication. Bennett and his wife claimed to have witnessed three reddish-orange rings in the sky. They maintained a triangular formation, moved at a high speed, and made a humming sound. (Saunders and Harkins, 157)

The civilian UFO research group NICAP became involved in the case as well, and some people were speculating that UFOs were somehow involved with Snippy’s death. Shortly thereafter, an anonymous Denver pathologist’s account of his autopsy saw publication. Snippy’s brain and abdominal organs were missing, he said, and there was no material in the spinal column. The pathologist insisted on anonymity, he said, due to fear of damaging his reputation with involvement in such a high-profile case.

The Condon Committee, then at the University of Colorado, sent its coordinator, Robert Low, to investigate. Low brought in Dr Robert O. Adams, head of Colorado State University’s Veterinary and Biomedical Science School. Adams examined Snippy and the evidence. He concluded there were ‘No unearthly causes, at least not to my mind.’ (Saunders and Harkins, 164) Adams noted a severe infection in Snippy’s hindquarters, and speculated that someone had come across the dying horse and slit its throat in order to end its misery. Then, Adams said, scavengers had inflicted the rest of the damage to the horse.

To some, this settled the question, but Mrs. Lewis argued that Adams’ conclusions were flawed in not accounting for the lack of blood at the scene and the medicinal odor. Low reported that he’d located the anonymous pathologist; Low said that the man was widely misquoted and was furthermore not a pathologist. The man’s opinions of Snippy’s death generally matched Adams’, said Low. Jerome Clark later identifies the anonymous man as hematologist John H. Altshuler. (Clark, 17)

Mothman

In his book The Mothman Prophecies,. also a film, John Keel claims to have examined a number of slain dogs, cows and horses in the Point Pleasant, West Virginia area in 1966 and 1967. These animals, Keel writes, bore surgical-like incisions in their throats ... often the carcasses seemed drained of blood.

Markings

The marks found on the animals are not consistent with attacks by predators such as wolves or coyotes. In many cases the owners hear nothing at the time of the mutilation which is usually at night. All organ removal and incisions are done with surgical precision, and in some cases the evidence of cauterization along the incision lines has led investigators to believe the use of some sort of high heat cutting device has been administered, suggesting the strong possibility of a laser. Bones are also clearly cut with no bone fragments around the cut.

The body of the animal is totally drained of blood yet there no trace of blood is found, no signs of a struggle, footprints or tire tracks found anywhere on the ground around the body.

The typical cattle mutilation has shown repeatedly, huge oval shaped incisions around the jaw bone and in most cases the exposed jaw is completely removed, and the tongue removed from a precise incision deep in the throat. Also observed is the additional removal of at least one (1) eyeball, the udders on the female are most always removed and the sexual organs on both sexes are also most always removed.

UFOs and strange black unmarked helicopters have been linked with these mutilations since they have been sighted at the same time in the same area where the mutilated bovines have been found. There have been reports about UFO’s lifting the animal off the ground. No one seems to have a valid reason as to the link between the multilations and ET’s.

[pics are not posted by me in this post to avoid hotlinking issues. Some of the pics are worth seeing at the link above.]

The foremost authority of animal mutilations is Linda Moulton Howe. Linda was a guest on my talk show “The Metaphysical Experience” in the 1990’s where we discussed this world wide phenomenon, leading me to believe that something paranormal has occurred. To date no one has video footage of an animal being carried away by an alien space craft - but there are dozens of witnesses who report seeing this phenomena.

Linda still investigates and reports ongoing cases which can be found on her archived files. She is also involved with research having to do with the crop circle phenomenon, another controversial subject.

Reports continue through recent years, though as noted above, precise numbers are very difficult to determine. According to a 1997 NIDS report, ranchers in Utah were weighing and tagging calves one morning. They tagged an 87-pound individual. Less than an hour later, reported that they made a shocking discovery. In a 45 minute period in daylight, 100 yards from any cover, with the rancher about 200-300 yards away, the calf had most of its body weight removed, including entrails, and appeared to have been placed carefully on the ground with no blood present or near the animal.

Explanations
Explanations vary even with researchers and their conclusions. As with alien abductions, conclusions are in the eye of the experiencer, and may never be substantiated one way or another unless a cow or other animal is filmed being taken or mutilated. Somehow there seems to be a mehtod to this madness that leads one to believe that humans and some animals are part of an ongoing biogenetic experiment.

Skeptics, such as Robert T. Carroll, and some other scientists hold that the apparent mutilations have completely natural and terrestrial origins: animals that have died from natural causes which have then been fed upon by a variety of scavengers, such as vultures, buzzards, and blowflies who tend to remove the eyes and softer internal organs first via the easiest access route - the mouth and anus. To me this seems doubtful.

The disappearance of the mouth, lips and genitalia may be due to dehydration. Blood settles to the lowest point in the body and breaks down into its basic chemical components, thus accounting for an apparent “lack of blood”. An FBI study of the subject found nothing unusual. Columnist Cecil Adams notes that “In 1974, for instance, state veterinary labs investigating a rash of mutilation reports in Nebraska and South Dakota reported that every animal brought to them for examination had died of natural causes.”

Proponents respond that many debunkers have little or no field experience with such mutilations, and further note that farmers and large-animal veterinarians have made distinctions between normal predation and so-called “cattle mutilations.”

Humans in Helicopters

There have been reports that with some witnessed cattle mutilations, humans were seen to come in a what appeared as a UFO. When its cockpit lights came on, they revealed helicopter rotors above the craft. It is alleged that these events were done by humans arriving in helicopters which were disguised as flying saucers, as disinformation to distract US public attention from real secret aircraft development. There is a theory that the systematic removal of the same parts from all the attacked cattle, was a covert test for chemical or radioactive contamination. We may never know the truth about that, but as we have been shown over and over again, the government has been covering up information for decades.

Cultists

Some have speculated that the mutilations may have been perpetrated by satanists or other cultists. Christian evangelist Bob Larson claims that cattle mutilations are the work of cults. The animals, he says, are sacrificed to Satan. When asked why the alleged cultists leave no footprints, Larson claims that they are either hoisted on extendable cranes or lowered from helicopters. For each reasonable hypothesis proposed by skeptics, Larson proposes an even wilder counter-theory. Such “progressive claim enhancement” is consistent with true-believer syndrome.

1991

In April 2001, NIDS interviewed a rancher (he was also a veteran of the Vietnam War) then living in Cache County, Utah who had reported a number of odd cattle deaths and injuries extending back over two decades. More intriguingly, the rancher (designated “Witness 1”) reported a run-in with mysterious military personnel in 1976.

The account was corroborated via a separate interview with the witness’s former superior officer, the retired sheriff of Cache County. NIDS notes that they verified the interviewees’ identities and past employment claims, but the report withholds their names due to promises of privacy. There have been many other similar reports, but this account is among the most detailed and intriguing (keeping in mind, of course, the potential shortcomings and limitations of eyewitness testimony). The lengthy report is available at this external link, which contains graphic photos: For some time prior to 1976, several ranchers in and near Cache County had witnessed unmarked helicopters which they associated with the ongoing mutilations.

As the retired sheriff (designated “Witness 2”) reported, “every time we’d see those black helicopters, a day or so later we’d have a farmer or rancher call in with two or three dead cows.” The helicopters were not only witnessed flying in the skies, but also landing at the small Cache-Logan Community Airport. The ranchers organized armed patrols, and determined that if the chance presented itself, they would fire upon the helicopters.

Witness 1 (who was a Sheriff’s deputy in 1976) insisted that late one evening, three unmarked and unusually quiet helicopters were sighted. He and several others rushed to the Cache-Logan airport where they saw a small airplane on the runway alongside one of the three helicopters. After trying to block the airplane’s departure route with their cars, they observed a man wearing coveralls who left a Huey-type helicopter “with a shiny suitcase in hand.”

The man jogged to the airplane and gave the briefcase to the airplane’s pilot. Much to the unnamed witness’s surprise, the airplane began to take off, narrowly missing the impromptu police vehicle barricade, and forcing one fellow deputy to crash his police cruiser to avoid a collision. The man left the helicopter’s door open, and the former sheriff noted “on the bottom of the door on the helicopter” the words “Property of U.S. Army” were inscribed; “that little insignia they have on all their equipment.”

The witness then turned his attention to the man, a tall figure perhaps 35 years old, wearing green military-style fatigues which lacked, however, the characteristic identification of name, rank or military unit. The witnessed asked the tall man for identification; the man replied “I have none.” The witness said he touched the man’s chest, partly to see if the man wore dog tags under his clothing. He did not.

When the witnesses touched the man’s chest, the airborne helicopters both made moves that the witness “Interpret(ed) as a beginning gun pass”. The witness speculated that “if I attempted to physically arrest that man, they’d a killed us both, right there, on the spot, with the same mental attitude that the pilot had ... that ran my patrol car off a runway.”

Due to this perceived threat (and the lack of any firm evidence of criminal wrongdoing), the witness decided to not attempt an arrest. He did, however, tell the man that the police and ranchers in the area were frustrated with the inexplicable deaths of their cattle, and that they suspected the unmarked helicopters were involved. He added that eventually, some armed rancher or farmer with a rifle would shoot at the helicopters, “and we intend to bring you down, sir.”

After a pause, the man said, “May I go?” The witness said yes, and the man returned to his helicopter, which flew off to the west. The witness (and several other individuals) asserted that after this showdown, that the unmarked helicopters were no longer seen, and the cattle mutilations in northern Utah and southern Idaho ceased for some five years.

Later in 1976, a National Sheriff’s Association colleague in Texas was investigating a number of cattle mutilations, and, inspired by the Utah police’s actions, soon organized armed patrols, and began closely monitoring the unmarked helicopters. Law-enforcement officers in Texas had no face-to-face encounter with the pilots, but they reported that the mutilations in the area ceased.

Another belief recently put forward concerns the large amount of mutilations taking place in close proximity to former nuclear test sites. It has been speculated that the U.S. Military has been dissecting these cows to examine the amount of exposure they receive from radiation fallout. Since these cows would account for a section of the meat and dairy industry, as well as represent an estimate of the human populations exposure to the fallout. Random samples would need to be taken since varying times of exposure and other factors must be accounted for. Obviously, the need for a “cover-up” would be mandatory since a population finding out that they’ve been poisoned would not be beneficial.

Just as with human alien abductions, the average person may be curious about animal mutilations, read up on the subject, draw their own conclusions, then move on. For others, this is very real and ongoing. I have heard many stories from people who have had cattle on their property mutilated, and wish to remain anonymous. They have nothing to gain by fabricating these tales. Check out Linda’s website for the most current research.

I think the mothball suggestion

BTW,

just who do you propose would be the likely photographers

say between about 02:00-03:30 or so in the morning

Leprachauns?

Very gifted and awake crows with the latest digital cameras?

Perhaps very gifted insomniac border collies with digital cameras?

The resident white-faced bull with some very carefully filed hooves for manipulating camera buttons?

Oh, I get it, the horse Mr Ed who talks the ET’s into taking their own pics?

I don’t know a thing about ET psychology, etcetera. I’m not at all certain that they even exist as “extraterrestrials” in the popular sense, and am entirely comfortable with believing that these beings are the same as those responsible for the Nephilim of antediluvian days, great men of old, men of renown.

You and I have had many exchanges, onthread and via FReepmail. I’ve studied Enoch I and in fact many Pseudepigraphical books to this end. We’re on the same page regarding the great potential for deception. So, there is no reason to respond in such a manner.

I’m asking about practical applications. Cow’s blood? Available by the torrent from slaughterhouses. Organs, the same. Why the cloak and dagger, then leave a showy carcass?

Artificial wombs for hybrids, with cow’s blood? Not the most compatible nonhuman creature to choose. Beaming a cow up and dropping it? Sounds like thrill killing more than some deeper, darker nefarious purpose. Like squashing a bug. Like human sociopaths.

Why leave a calling card? To what purpose is the spectacle of surgically mutilated cows?

It does not make sense. That is why I’m sincerely asking you to consider the practicalities at hand.

The interest in people is another matter, as I mentioned before. The interest there is entirely practical, granted that the assumption of a repeat performance is accepted, and much of my reading tends to support such a thing. They tried to prevent the second Adam, and they’re going to try to prevent His return.

That I accept. Not very many here do, you being one of those few. I’m surprised that you’ve responded as you have to my honest question as a result, frankly.

The one size fits all cop out when the purveyors of nonsense can produce ZERO EVIDENCE. The Powers That Be won’t allow it! LOL 9/11 Truthers do the same thing.

So when they can’t prove that evil space boogeymen exist, it’s because the evil human boogeymen won’t let them. I guess you can never lose an argument when your fallback position is that evil, invisible boogeymen are suppressing the evidence.

If the ‘Powers That Be” were actually as powerful as they claim, the conspiracy cranks would have disappeared, or been given one of the many powerful, undetectable drugs that would have given them a heart attack and killed them.

“Maybe they aren’t helicopters after all because I’ve heard
the chopper sound right above me when I couldn’t see anything!”
- Phil McKinley, Colorado Rancher

[Quix: it has been asserted by whistle blowers that humans sometimes use copters which are silent and perhaps even cloaked somehow. Others insist we use our own UFO type craft on such tasks.]

November 5 , 2009 Albuquerque, New Mexico - The following continues from Parts 1- 7 about the 1980 animal mutilation high strangeness summary I typed up for my private research files and am now sharing for the first time in this Real X-Files series. This segment continues on September 22, 1980, after the high strangeness at Iona Hoeppner’s Briggsdale, Colorado, high school lab.

[map at link]

Grover, Colorado, near Pawnee National Grassland is northeast of Greeley and Fort Collins.

September 29, 1980 - Phil McKinley ranch south of Grover, Colorado. On September 29, 1980, Phil McKinley found a 4-year-old cow dead and mutilated 100 feet from Crow Creek in deep grass. The last time he saw the cow healthy and alive was on Friday, September 26, and he estimated she had been dead two days when he found her.

a) Right ear taken clear to skull. Cow had a thick, hard rubber, marker tag that pierced the ear. McKinley found half of the tag was about 2 to 3 feet in front of the dead cow. The other ear tag half was never found. Why both to cut tag in half if taking whole ear?

“I thought maybe coyotes had done it, but no teeth marks in the rubber,” Phil McKinley told me. Sheriff Andrews in Weld County has the tag half now.

b) Hide on right side of nose and up over nostrils was excised along with upper and lower jaw so that cow’s mouth was outlined by hide stripped clean, leaving all muscle tissue underneath in tact. Phil McKinley told me, “That’s what is really peculiar, no flesh was taken. If coyotes get to a dead animal, they will go for the soft parts first like the nose and rectum and eat to the bone. But no flesh at all was taken from this cow.”

c) Tongue taken, cut from deep in throat.

d) Udder removed - looked circular and smooth as if cut with very sharp instrument. “Removed whole thing and hole went clear into belly. You could see the intestines. I wonder if that’s because some varmints got to the mutilator’s cut?”

e) No bloat; some swelling.

f) Rectum cored out - one side showed signs of coyote chewing, but the other side was smooth, no bite marks. Hole was 4 inches across and 6 to 8 inches deep into cow’s abdomen. “Just looked like a big, deep hole,” said McKinley.

g) Right eye gone - “but think bugs did it because there wasn’t any evidence of eye being cut out.”

h) “We had just vaccinated, cleaned and worked over our cows pretty good one week before and none of them were sick. So, those cows had been in that pasture only one week when I found her. As far as I know, she was a healthy cow and I don’t have any idea why she died.”

i) “There were no signs of struggle where she was in the grass - no disturbance at all. No signs of thrashing. She was dead or unconscious when she hit the ground.”

j) Little patch of skin behind her right front arm pit about 3 inches long and 1 inch wide was missing. Looked sort of like a skinned up place where black skin was kind of rectangular.

k) Tassel on tail was gone, leaving clean tail stump. “Looked like it might have been chewed on, but coyotes don’t eat hair and if they had chewed on the tail, that hair would still have been there. But it was not. I’ve never seen coyotes take a tail or an ear before.” Other McKinley comments: “Coyote damage is pretty rough looking - they go clear down to bone. Her nose really puzzled me. That hide on the nose is thin and it was so carefully taken that her nostril holes were untouched. Everything was there but the hide skin.”

Saturday night, September 27, 1980, a neighbor heard a noise at 10:30 PM like a helicopter. The neighbor went out to see, but could not see anything.

Back in the summer of 1975 or 1976, Phil McKinley remembers watching a light circle in the sky and shining a beam onto the ground about 3 miles north of his place. Then pretty soon, there was a second light that circles, shining a beam on to the ground. Then a third light circled, shining a beam on the ground while all three lights kept circling. He never heard any sound, but 3 miles is pretty far to hear noise. He thought the lights were near Kiowa (see map below) and drove on roads to get closer. But when he got where he thought the lights were, they disappeared. Phil drove on to Kiowa and then saw a light east of town. Later, Phil learned that in Buckingham north of Kiowa, people called authorities about seeing lights in the sky there that night, too.

At midnight a week later after he saw the three circling lights, Phil heard something that sounded “just like it was coming right through the house.” The dogs went crazy, but when he got outside he could not see anything, even though the noise was still there. Phil said it sounded like a low-flying helicopter had gone right over the roof of his house at a terrific speed. He told me he is used to low-flying pesticide spraying planes around his area that don’t set his dogs barking. But that night, his dogs went crazy barking even though he could not see any lights - only heard the loud helicopter sound.

McKinley asked, “Why wouldn’t coyotes have touched that cow’s nose if they went into the cow’s belly?” Phil speculated that something didn’t smell right about the nose because coyotes, dogs and other animals will stay away from anything that does not smell right to them.

Phil said he asked the sheriff what would happen if he or one of his deputies caught one of those helicopters down in a field and shot at it to keep it from flying away? Sheriff Andrews said he did not know because it had never happened. Sheriff Andrews also told McKinley that the only crime they could book anyone on was malicious mischief and trespass because no one was rustling the animals. they were just leaving cut up dead bodies. So, some law enforcement doesn’t take the whole matter very seriously. “I don’t think law enforcement is going to spend any money on these mutilations because it’s not a big crime,” Phil McKinley said. Phil McKinley mentioned another strange thing that happened back in 1975-1976: a local farmer was out riding when he saw a helicopter flying real low along Crow Creek making loud noise and said it “scared the hell out of him.” Rancher said he heard it before he saw it.

McKinley also recounted something Sheriff Andrews told him: a man south of Briggsdale, Colorado, looked out of his window late one night and saw what he thought was a helicopter down in his pasture. He called the sheriff and told him it was still there and to get out there as fast as possible, which the sheriff did. The sheriff drove into the pasture fast, never stopping, with his high beams on. He drove all over the pasture and never found anything. Phil said, “Maybe they aren’t helicopters after all because I’ve heard the chopper sound right above me when I couldn’t see anything!”

In 1975 to 1976, August and September were the peak periods for animal mutilations in northeastern Colorado and that pattern is repeating in 1980.

Another Grover, Colorado, case - ranch of Vic Hilman 12 miles east of Grover: He had a bull mutilated back in 1975 - 1976. Tongue, eye, penis, testicles, rectum “all cleanly cut out.” Hilman said, “No animal can do that. The cuts were smooth, very precise and perfect. A coyote’s just like a dog - they tear things apart.”

Since then, he has not had any more mutilations that he knows about. “It’s very weird. It makes you stop and wonder what is going on because I know it is not predators!” Vic Hilman told me.

Tuesday, September 30, 1980 - Charlotte and Bob Smithburg and their children were driving along I-70 around 7 to 7:30 PM toward their home in Arriba, Colorado, when they saw something very bright in the sky. At first it was a bright yellow color and the family talked about what it could be. Then they watched it come down out of the sky, maybe two miles from where they were in the car. As it moved downward, the light changed to a green, then a red and then it disappeared. The parents estimated they all watched for two or three minutes, “but we did not see it hit the ground.” Could not hear any sound.

That same night of September 30, 1980, near Lindon, Colorado, 3 miles southwest of the Phillip Scott ranch, a neighbor heard dogs howling at night, which was not normal.

[map at link]

October 1980

October 1, Phillip Scott ranch, Lindon, Colorado - The next day on Wednesday, October 1, Scott found one of his black Angus cows dead and mutilated. The animal was 9-years-old and had given birth to a calf probably the day before. The cow was in the bottom of a sand creek in a very narrow place. No water. She was on her right side.

[followed by the usual report of injuries quite typical of such cases. I think the sheriff took some Poloroid pics]

. . .

Also October 1 - Orvil Harms in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming. On his buffalo grass pasture on a high ridge, right in the middle of the pasture 18 miles straight south of Bushnell, Nebraska, or 15 miles east and 1 miles south of Hereford, Colorado - Orvil Harms found a 5-month-old steer calf, 450 pounds, dead and mutilated.

Orvil was working in his pasture on Monday, September 29, 1980, at noon time where he later found the male calf two days later on October 1st. The calf was not in that pasture location on October 1, so Orvil figured the mutilation happened Monday night, September 29.

a) Where sex organ had been, there was a 24-inch-long and 3-inch-wide oval of excised hide. “It was definitely cut with a knife because it was sort of jagged like they had stopped and started over at places trying to cut.” The skin in the oval was pinkish-white.

b) Rectum was cored out 6 to 8 inches deep, a dark hole, and could not see any organs inside. Definitely no out-pouching of intestines.

c) Animal was bloated with feet sticking up in air, lying on left side.

d) Both ears cut off “like they’d done it with a scalpel.”

e) No blood visible anywhere.

f) Eyes were there and no skin missing from around them.

g) Nose - 6 inches up the nose, hide only was missing in an oval shape 6 inches by 6 inches up between eyes.

h) Tongue was in place and was not protruding even though animal bloated.

i) Tail was there.

j) Sheriff Andrews investigated and took flesh samples from the rectum. A Lt. Deputy and another officer with Andrews dismissed the animal as a predator attack, but Sheriff Andrews thought it was a genuine mutilation.

k) No sign of death struggle. Buffalo gras untouched and could not see any tracks around the steer.

l) There were signs that coyotes had been there. Scott saw where the natural predators had pulled chunks of hide and dropped them on the ground. He thinks the coyotes “were suspicious of something” - maybe the scent of whoever did the mutilation. “The coyotes tried to eat on that steer, but they didn’t want to get too close. We’ve got a lot of coyotes out here and they are starving all the time.”

m) “There was a liquid on the ground.” I figured it was coming out of the steer’s stomach from the bloat. [ But see Roland Ball and Iona Hoeppner case of September 16, 1980.]

n) No bird droppings anywhere.

Orvil told about how he had another cow mutilated in 1975-1976. He said it was different than the steer in that the cuts were oval and “real smooth,” not as jagged as this current oval. In the cow mutilation, the jaw was stripped, tongue gone, bag gone and rectum cored out.

When I asked Orvil if anyone had seen or heard anything unusual on Monday night, September 29, he said no. Then he continued that there were lots of helicopters flying around over his place at night in 1975 to 1976. “You could hear them and see the flashing lights on and off.”

DO YOU SEE HELICOPTERS NOW? “No, but the mutilations are still going on.”

IMPORTANT CONTRAST: Orvil told me that the day before finding his steer on October 1, 1980, an antelope had been killed along side the road near his place. The next day on October 1, only twelve hours later (overnight), the coyotes had “eaten everything but bones and a little patch of skin.”

So, the fact that the steer would be in his pasture for 36 hours untouched is quite unusual.

One of Most Haunting Mutilations
Was Yet to Happen

September 9, 1982, 30 Miles East of Colorado Springs, Colorado

[pic of mutilated cow at link]

This pregnant, six-year-old cow was alive and well at noon on September 9, 1982,
but found by rancher Linda Dzuris to be dead and mutilated at 5 PM, only five hours later.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputy who investigated the next day on September 10, 1982,
wrote in his Offense Report: “...cut by some type of instrument.” No necropsy or veterinarian
examination was done. The fate of the unborn calf is unknown. Photo by rancher Linda Dzuris
on September 9, 1982, soon after discovery 30 miles east of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

. . .

In September 1982, two years after the first broadcast of my Emmy award-winning documentary, A Strange Harvest, about the animal mutilation phenomenon, I received a call about an unusual cow mutilation south of Denver that haunts me to this day. The ranch owners were Bill and Linda Dzuris, who had been raising cattle on the same land 30 miles east of Colorado Springs for years. On September 9, 1982, what happened to one of their cows was not like anything they had ever seen before.

A 6-year-old pregnant female was alive and well at noon that blue sky, sunny day in a herd of about thirty other pregnant females that Bill and Linda were keeping close to their ranch house waiting for births. The pasture was less than one-half mile from where the couple were painting their house exterior. Neither of them heard anything unusual the whole afternoon after checking on their pregnant cows at mid-day.

Then at 5 o’clock, Bill Dzuris got in his semi-truck to go for a load of hay and saw a black and white cow lying down in the pasture. He assumed she was giving birth and called his wife from a phone down the road and asked Linda to go check on the cow.

Linda Dzuris was stunned by what she found. “Half of the udder was gone. You could see into the stomach cavity. The eyes were bulging out. I was horrified at the thought of what could do this in broad daylight when we had checked the cows only a few hours before!”

The rectum was also cut out in an oval about 18 inches wide. Was the unborn calf removed through that large opening? There was no examination of the cow by a veterinarian.

Deputy Kelso from the El Paso County Sheriff’s office responded on September 10, 1982, to the Dzuris phone call and filed an offense report. He was puzzled and wrote in his report, “...cut by some type of instrument.”

Before then in 1980, the Dzurises reported two other mutilations on their ranch that the El Paso Sheriff tried to dismiss as the work of natural predators. But the sheriff’s office could not dismiss the September 9, 1982, cow mutilation as predator.

Did a UFO hover unseen and silent over the Dzuris ranch that afternoon, send down a pale yellow beam as described by other eyewitnesses over the years, take up the pregnant cow, excise the unborn calf and other tissues, and then let the cow silently back down into the pasture so close to the Dzuris ranch house without detection, even on a sunny day?

There’s quite a lot of pics of carcasses.

For example . . . at the link just above at Linda Moulton Howe’s site.

I think a better name for most naysayers would be . . .

“Actually, in the movie “Signs,” the aliens DID get into the family’s house....they broke the windows on the second floor and moments later the family barricaded themselves in the basement.”

I watched “Night of the Living Dead” for the first time this past Halloween. Great movie I thought. Now that you mention it - lots of similarities between it and “Signs”.

A synapse of the National Geographic Channel’s explanation of cattle mutilations from a viewer.

________

You know, I have seen the phenomenom of “cattle mutilation” explained on NGC.

There was a group of people that really wanted to proof that the mutilation is actually a natural occuring thing. All it takes is a fresh cadaver and maggots.

They purchased a dead cow from a farmer and laid it down on the field somewhere. After hours, the carcass was swarming with flies who were laying their eggs all over. At night, the eggs hatched, and the maggots started eating away the soft parts of the body, like the eyes and around the eyes, the lips, the anus and udder. Thats also where the flies had laid their eggs, since no open wounds were available.

The way the maggots ate away the flesh looked very similar to the “surgical” manuevers the aliens perform on the cows. You cant see any blood because corpses dont bleed. You dont see footprints, or cuts, or anything.
In the morning the carcass looked like it had been mutilated.

Aliens are simply NOT mutating cattle, some people have no BS filter. Anyone who believes aliens are mutilating cattle need to take a long hard look at their critical thinking ability, the problem is, they have no critical thinking ability so how can they evaluate it? Sad

The UFO fallen angel critters still have their bodies.

Perhaps they are demons that are appearing to have bodies. The Bible says that the devil can change himself into an angel of light.

And as far as the beings that lost their bodies in the flood. The Bible says that they were around after the flood. So somehow at least some of them have escaped. Its been a few months since I have been in Genesis Chapter 6. I probably need to re-read it.

In the final analysis its a matter of pure (and fun) speculation.

Regards...

Even some of the hard science researchers affirm that the critters seem to come from a “spiritual dimension.”

However, they really do have tangible bodies. They will be able to play the role of ‘citizens of distant orbs’ quite well.

And, interestingly, there’s often the smell of sulpher.

Yes, many nephilium/fallen angels lost their bodies in Noah’s flood. NOT ALL. Yes, those who did not lose their bodies in Noah’s flood were around afterwards causing trouble, still . . . as they are in our era.

There’s plenty of mystery and complexity in it all.

Thx for your kind post.
