Shahawar Matin Siraj attempted a one man jihad op much like Mohammed Taheri-azar who tried to run down half of the UNC-Chapel Hill student body with an SUV last year. Siraj’s sentence does not bode well for jihadi Taheri-azar. They both confessed similiar motives. I would hope that Taheri-azar would get at least life without parole since he carried out his personal jihad.
"The man who hit nine people with a sport utility vehicle on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus wrote a letter to a television reporter saying he read the Quran’s 114 chapters 15 times and found that the Muslim holy book justified the attack."

I have seen lists spanning 1950 to 9/11....It might be useful, in demonstrating the inherently violent and bloody nature of Islam, to include some of these prior events as an addendum...

Jeff, I had been using keyword “NonTerroristAttack” for these for many years due to the FBI’s immediate denials. This is the first time I noticed your SJS name for it. I like this much better and have superceded that on my own home page, and will use it instead. I suspect that you have every incident I’d flagged using that keyword on this list. Some day I’ll run through and see, but if you like, you may do that yourself.

Excellent work, Jeff. You may want to add prevented attacks or keep them on a separate list. Certainly stuff like the plot to shhot up Cherryvale Mall in Illinois or the Fort Dix plot make your case just as well as times a gun was fired.

Any time that excuse is put forward it is the same as saying the so-called real terrorists, like the 9-11 murderers, are not insane or mentally disturbed. That they are sane and rational and therefore somehow justified in their actions.
I consider any politician or talking head that says that to be giving aid and comfort to the enemy. I have run out of patience to consider any mitigating factors for that treason.

This nut had been briefing local law enforcement and airport officials on racial profiling and sensitivity training regarding muslims, right after 9-11. There was also some mention that the wife may have found something on his computer.
