The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows that 27% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -13 (see trends).
Voters continue to see deficit reduction as the top Presidential priority with health care reform a distant second.
In a state-by-state look at the 2010 Senate races, Larry Sabato concludes It will be surprising if the GOP doesn't make some progress in whittling down the large Democratic majority. However, he cites a wide range of possible outcomes stretching from a one-or-two seat gain for Democrats to a seven-or-eight seat gain for the Republicans.

TØTUS comes roaring back from the depths!
What’s it gonna take to get the SD number to cross the 42% threshold?
Exposing Climate Change as a fraud?
Inclusive of the 20% illegal voters polled.
only a matter of time until old support becomes new resistance, -14 will be his new ceiling
One way or another the 27% are on the take. We will never get rid of those freeloaders and criminals.
When unemployment keeps rising and retail sales for XMAS does not improve, BO and the Dem numbers will tank big time. If BO approval numbers hit 40 percent or lower, many experts will tell you that very few politicians ever recover.
He'll just push for a war crimes law suit against Bush after blaming him again for all POTUS wrong doings and then his numbers will improve again./s
I felt that the -14 reading might turn out to be the result of one wacky night’s statistical anomaly. Must not have been. The bad news is beginning to stick, evidently.
Too bad this abysmal result will have no effect on the leftists voting on the health care takeover later today. Actually, I think the lower Ob’s and congess’ approval sink, the more determined they will be to pass this disaster now, while they still can. They are so completely committed collectivists that they don’t care if they get trounced in 2010 and 2012. They will have gotten their socialist dream of 60 years, and they know it will be next to impossible to get rid of it.
Black voter supported BO 90 percent. Given the severe unemployment numbers in inner cities, if the present POTUS was white, we would had riots by now. Since blacks in general practice tribalism (stick up for your own right or wrong because everyone in America is out to get us for one mistake). This alone will provide BO with 12 percent strong approval numbers. However harsh economic reality is starting to break that ethnic loyalty. Rep Maxine Walters and other black politicians are starting to belly ache about the economic policies of the Obama administration. But that criticsm will turn to loyalty once the DNC plays the race card when GOP (characterized as fat white boys) starts to join in the chorus. In the end BO will have only the black and hispanic voters like Pres Carter, while the rest of America (including Main Street Dems) measure Obama admin by how many Americans are employed.
How the hell could he be higher than -35? He is the worst President of the last 50 years.
The Ras numbers are a 3-day moving average. Are the components of this average available? If not, are they deducible? Intuitively, I’d surmise that if the numbers were say, -14 for a week or so, one could then deduce the individual day numbers from that point on.
Awww...I was hoping for -15
Patience, patience. We are at the tipping point. 0bama is screwing up on all fronts. People are naturally reluctant to change their favorable opinion of someone once they form it. Changing their minds shows they were a poor judge of character to start with. People are too stubborn to do that easily.
However, once it become popular to disapprove of the POTUS, the dam will break. It will be almost impossible to find anyone who will admit to having voted for the guy. And in 2010, people will take out their frustration on Dem candidates. 0bama’s cult personality thing won’t transfer to his party.
Yes, patience is needed. This is a grind-it-out situation where a few thousand people every day develop disgust. The unemployment rate is going to rise; the unemployment claims reports guarantee it. Every new unemployed person means that mortgages or rents aren’t going to be paid or paid in full. Early next year, the gasoline prices are going to tick people off too. 2010 will be very bad for Dems; the worse the economy, the better the election results.
For some time I’ve thought that we’ve gotten the “rational” Americans who look at results; and now we’re dealing with the next group, who are the “emotional” Americans who still want to “give the guy a chance.” When and if they break, he’ll dip below 40%. But these people have to arrive at these conclusions themselves and don’t strike me as the type who can be “convinced” by even correct arguments to the contrary.
