The autopsy showed the single gunshot wound to Scotts left temple. (Scott was left-handed.) It also showed probable post-mortem wounds to Scotts chin that were likely suffered after his face-first fall into the Chicago River. And it showed swelling around Scotts right eye, possibly from skull fractures, sources said.

Because Scott landed in water, some evidence on his body was contaminated. Medical Examiners office investigators did not inspect the death scene because police didnt notify them before Scotts body was removed from the river, Jones said.

Jones said the absence of a suicide note is common. In fact, fewer than half of people who commit suicide leave notes, she said.
Chicago police are still trying to find out who owned the .380 caliber pistol found under Scotts body at the death scene. Scotts family members have told investigators that the school board chief owned a gun, a law enforcement source said.
Ping!

In a fit of depression, he punched himself in the jaw and the eye, before shooting himself with someone else’s gun.
or
the coroner’s take, that the jaw and eye damage was from falling into the Chicago River. Must have some pretty damn hard water in Chicagoland.
Help me out here.
Who is Scott?
And why is his suicide/murder? of interest to the mystery/murder thread of FR.
BTW yall have not had a long running arm chair detective mystery thread for a long time now.
Kinda miss the old days.
I suppose with Obama tv 24/7 the media does not follow these things.
Or there has not been a baffling one out there.
Same with serial killers I know they are still out there ie the creep next to the sausage factory who had a yard/house full of decomposed woman.
What slayed me about that one was all the years the Sausage factory spent time and money trying to get rid of the smell thinking it was there business as did the neighbors.
Gross huh it wasnt rotting sausage grease traps it was the neighbors rotting yard full of dead women.
Shouldn’t they call in the park police to run the investigation??
See this thread for details on Daley insider, Scott.

“Because Scott landed in water, some evidence on his body was contaminated,”
Well, it is the Chicago River. I have a friend who works in an office building along the Chicago River, and when it rains really hard, he can watch the poo float by.
As for a note, they might want to check Fort Marcy Park, or a stray table in the White House, or a state trooper office in Arkansas.
The body was found in a foot of water, no risk of washing away. Why would they remove the body before the medical examiner arrived at the scene?
I’ve been to Chicago a number of times. As I recall
downtown bridges spanning the river are not all that high—compared, say, to New York bridges over the Hudson and East River. I guess he could have hit a pylon on the way down.
I don’t find it coincidental that so many demrats find themselves inexplicably dead.
I don’t watch crime shows because they’re too creepy. If a body is found in the water, can they still test the hand for gunpowder? If somebody were going to kill him and make it look like a suicide, wouldn’t they go through the due diligence to find out he’s left-handed, so why would the left-sided contact point be definitive? And why can’t a hit man press a gun close against the temple? Why would he shoot himself at a location where he just happened to fall into the water? Just wondering.
Also, I thought it was illegal to own a gun in Chicago.
In the old days, they would write up a suicide note for you, tear it into little pieces, and leave it in your briefcase where people could find it. Nowadays, they type the suicide note into your blackberry after they kill you, then leave the blackberry near your body.
that bottle full of aspirin he swallowed didnt help either.
This was a hard contact range gunshot wound, which means the gun was found directly against the head and actually pressed against the head, which is something we see in suicides, she said.”
HUH? Execution murders also have ‘hard contact’ against the head! Is this all she has?
Oh Vey......
Anyone know how his sister in nursing care was injured?
I wonder, is this dead guy a past ‘friend’ of Barry? Should we add this body to the count of two or more connected to Barry’s ‘church’ connections, and Lt Quarles of passport fame? I’m trying to understand how swelling occurs around the eye AFTER the brain is scrambled by a bullet passing through from point-blank range?
So now 3 Chicago Daley machine thugs have “committed suicide!” Now isn’t that just soooooo LUCKY for the mayor??!!
