Very upsetting read in #113. Appears, regardless of the outcome, Owens stays put.

Well, I’m sure there a ‘few’ volunteers around here willing, able and content to give it a try!

Challenge? How about a threat or two? Like maybe for people like Dede Scuzzabag, for instance. These leftists are so shock-sure and arrogant that there will be no consequences for their actions, other than a cushy job with the Rats. Maybe we should make it less ‘convenient and profitable’ for them to do what they’ve been doing. And that goes especially for the idiots in the GOP that select liberal leftists to run as Republicans when they know better.

Whatever you do, don’t be a premature mockulator.

Actually, they have passed something. They did it around midnight on a weekend, with virtually NO bipartisan support and against the will of most Americans. As I understand it, their plan is now to pass a watered down version in the Senate. When that happens, they can (and will) legally put all the fascist/commie crap back into the bill and pass it with only a 51-vote majority.

That’s their plan, Stan. And I’m betting they’re planning on ramming the Amnesty, Crap & Trade, and anything else they want in the same manner.

Mock away. But it won’t help.

Newt is a stinking RINo rat who made a TV commercial about climate change with Pelosi - it is on You Tube. Newt, Dede and the stinking RINO GOP rates in NY-23 got Owens elected.

The loss of that seat is a BIG BIG BIG deal. It showed ACORN could still steal elections. Newt is a serial divorcee slime.

Thank Dede and Newt for this and also ObamaCare. The one extra vote against by Doug may have turned the tide. Newt is a POS.

This is the same Newt that brought us Contract With America, helped balance the budget and helped defeat the Clintonista regime? How could he have changed from not just a good conservative, but a great conservative, to a RINO?

Got a link to that video? I’ve never heard that Newt was a traitor or sellout to the GOP. I HAVE heard that the leftists hate his guts ‘still’...and that’s a damned good indication that he is on OUR side.

Serial divorcee? How many times has he been divorced? (and keep in mind that you might offend SEVERAL here that have also been multi-divorced, that it’s not illegal (and actually better than being a serial rapist and/or adulterer), and that it’s really not pertinent to the job he did, does or would do.

Article I, section 5, clause 1 of the U.S. Constitution:

“Each House shall be the judge of the elections, returns and qualifications of its own members....”

It is undisputed that the House is the ultimate word on the winner of an election to the House, as well as on whether a member meets the constitutional qualifications for office, and that such determinations are made by a simple majority vote; the only limit that the Supreme Court has placed on Congress is that it not add to the qualifications set forth in the Constitution (age, citizenship and residency). See Powell v. McCormack.

You are taking section five out of context. Here's some more context from the U.S. Constitution.

The people of NY-23 choose their rep. as certified by their SOS. Nacy Pelosi can't ignore Article I, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution.

why don't we start by getting rid of the traitors that just passed the health "care" monstrosity, they seated a partisan judge, who have got us trillions of dollars in debt, and are going to try the 911 terrorists as if they robbed the pizza delivery man....

then, go after pub incompetants....

WHY DON'T PEOPLE REALIZE THAT THOSE THAT TALK ABOUT THIRD PARTIES OR THIRD PARTY CANDIDATES ARE DOING THE RATS WORK FOR THEM....THEY ARE GLEEFUL JUST THINKING ABOUT IT...

What gave me some comfort (which I posted to NY State Board) was to read Conklin’s statement to the clerk of the house: “The key is that Hoffman conceded, which means the race is not contested. However, all ballots will be counted, and if the result changes, Owens will have to be removed.” One can only assume his word is final but apparently that is not the cse.

Well, it seems to me that the GOP is NOT doing what they’re supposed to be doing. Reflecting the will of We, the People. They’re not standing up to the Rats and Zero and they’re not even fighting back, in most cases (see Hoffman’s “nice guy” premature concession of failure, or in other words, same chit, different day routine.

They’re picking not just RINOs to run, but outright socialist lefties (Dede). They should be running ads non-stop showing how Zero sealed his records on his 1st day in office and asking WHY, what’s he hiding (duh). They should be running ads about the mandatory, against the constitution, BS in Pelosi’s bill. They should be pointing out that only lowering taxes and helping small business is going to get us out of this soon to be even greater depression. But nooooo!

What they are doing, from my perspective, is zip, zilch and NADA. They aren’t even trying from where I’m sitting. Somebody PLEASE convince me otherwise, cause it’s just downright depressing. But then, these days, what isn’t?

According to Fred Grandy (WMAL, former congressman)- that Owens was seated before being certified, should invalidate Owen’s vote(s)

That's Gopher! He played a role in Hillary!Care. I recall him appearing in a press conference announcing a bipartisan competing bill. It was quickly buried because then as now, debate over alternatives wasn't allowed.

Use to they didn't concede until after all votes were counted,

That would have been before my lifetime. I recall the 1980 election where Carter conceded the election before polls closed in California. That's taking concession a bit too far.

Sounds logical to me. Doesn't sound like a RINO or a POS. Sounds like he has a better idea than the rest of the GOP (which of course, isn't saying much). He's getting our side of the debate heard, and that's half of the battle with the leftist media we have now. Playing the leftie enviro-wacko game back at them, and playing it better is equivalent to outsmarting them. And I'm all for that.

"Many of you have written to me to ask why I recently taped an advertisement with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for The Alliance for Climate Protection, a group founded by former Vice President Al Gore.

I completely understand why many of you would have questions about this, so I want to take this opportunity to explain my reasons. First of all, I want to be clear: I don't think that we have conclusive proof of global warming. And I don't think we have conclusive proof that humans are at the center of it.

But here's what we do know. There is an important debate going on right now over the right energy policy, the right environmental policy, and making sure we do the right things for our future and the future of our children and grandchildren. Conservatives are missing from this debate, and I think that's a mistake. When it comes to preserving our environment for future generations, we can't have a slogan of "Just yell no!"

I have a different view. I think it's important to be on the stage, to engage in the debate, and to communicate our position clearly. There is a big difference between left-wing environmentalism that wants higher taxes, bigger government., more bureaucracy, more regulation, more red tape, and more litigation and a Green Conservatism that wants to use science, technology, innovation, entrepreneurs, and prizes to find a way to creatively invent the kind of environmental future we all want to live in. Unless we start making the case for the latter, we're going to get the former. That's why I took part in the ad."

The agreement to concede was based on the final vote, but the MSM had people believing it was over, so the Conservative gave his concession speach early in good faith.

I think there's more to it than that. Which of these names does not belong: Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Algore. Richard Nixon conceded in 1960 and went on to win two presidential elections despite a defeat in the California gubernatorial campaign in 1962 - "You won't have Dick Nixon to kick around any more!!!". Ronald Reagan went on to win two presidential elections (in landslides) after conceding to Gerald Ford at the convention in 1976 (resisting the temptation to run as a 3rd party candidate).

Algore contested the 2000 election with dozens of lawsuits and lost and will never be president, even though 2008 was his year.

I do not believe Mr. Hoffman should have conceded, but I can't blame him for being a gentleman.

Here is your boy Newt shilling for Al Gore with Pelosi. My guess is he is on the Saudis payroll after this one. Make sure we never tap our domestice energy supplies. Newt’s support of Dede and the loss of that seat will harm you, me and our families.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qi6n_-wB154

“This ad is part of the “We Can Solve It” global warming ad campaign sponsored by former Vice President Al Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection.”

“It is no secret that Nancy Pelosi and Newt Gingrich don’t always see eye to eye, but they do agree that on the issue of climate change, we must take action now.”

“Please join more than one million others who know it will take all of us coming together to solve the climate crisis.”
