H1N1 swine flu killed an estimated 3,900 Americans from April to October, U.S. health officials said Thursday.
Better estimates show that the pandemic of flu has infected an estimated 22 million Americans and put 98,000 in the hospital, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.
Of these totals, children account for 8 million of the infected, 36,000 of those in hospital and 540 deaths.

This is a “fake pandemic”, I hear here? It must be the same gang who assasinated Saint JFK that is behind this fakery.
She is watching out for you , and she love’s you .
Prayers for you to be strong
There is still good work to be done :)
One day at a time ... in a joyless world
I’m rarely touched but I’m reminded in the strangest way of a time when I was sad beyond consolation and my dear grandma gathered up my raggedy old teddy bear and sewed upon his face two shiny green buttons.
It seems the silliest thing, but those buttons remained on old teddy until one day he just left my side — and I haven’t the slightest clue when or where his job was done .
I sometimes think we lose the magic in ourselves but now I’m old and I see magic everywhere when sweet memories come to spend the night.
May your grief be brief and all your memories long and sweet.
Thank you for your kind words
Oh please. They’re trying to cause an “epidemic” out of nothing.
2 ladies in the office, with kids, are freaking out about it. They DO NOT like any of my responses.
I've tried to tell the 2 ladies in my office that. They will NOT hear of it. Swine flu will be the "end all" of everybody.
Some people just love drama and also love to bring others into it. They have stopped talking to me about it, lol.
Asthma ITSELF can be deadly. Add a viral or bacterial infection to that and poof, dead, or close to it.
I do not consider people with asthma "pretty healthy" people. Asthma can take on a life of it's own.
Do the math, 4000 of 22,000,000 who got the flu died.....
thats .0018% THATS NOTHING. Hellfire thats GREAT compared to the regular flu that kills 36 THOUSAND a year, and thats the regular flu!
The H1N1 is NOTHING.
DO NOT BELIEVE THE HYPE.
Well THAT sounds natural.

I don’t trust their numbers either . . . just an attempt to round up cash.
What I find interesting is that while they say 3,900 people died in 6 months, EVERY DAY 3,300 BABIES DIE IN ABORTUARIES . . . EVERY DAY!!!!!
Let’s do the math . . .
* 3,900 dead from H1N1 in 6 months. . .
* 602,250 innocent, defenseless American citizens (3,300 times 180)in 6 moths . . .
Where’s the alarm soundoff on that??????
Welcome to the new United States of Caligula. It’s no wonder God keeps telling us NO to our prayers.
Lungs of fatal swine flu patients badly damaged

The lungs of people who have died from swine flu look more like those of the victims of H5N1 avian influenza than those of people who succumb to regular flu, the chief of infectious diseases pathology at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control says.
Study of about 70 fatal H1N1 cases so far also reveals there may be more incidences of co-infections with bacteria than was earlier thought, Dr. Sherif Zaki told The Canadian Press in an interview.
The damage to lung tissue is consistent with that inflicted by ARDS or acute respiratory distress symptom, Zaki says, referring to an often-fatal, difficult-to-treat syndrome that can have a number of causes. The U.S. National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute estimates about 30 per cent of people who develop ARDS die.
“In terms of the disease, yes, it (H1N1) is remarkably different than seasonal flu,” Zaki says. “The pathology looks very similar to H5(N1).”
Swine flu hitting young, healthy adults hardest (Canada)

The young and healthy who feel invincible from the H1N1 “swine flu” influenza pandemic may not be as bulletproof as they think, warn public health experts.
Nearly two-thirds of Canadians hospitalized due to swine flu, and half of those who have died, had no underlying health conditions.
Experts do not yet understand why the new strain affects some healthy people so severely, ravaging their lungs with an aggressive pneumonia and forcing them to spend weeks in hospital, attached to breathing machines.
Canada?? Home of socialized medicine? Could you provide these same statics here at home please.
Updated chart through October 31 comparing the pediatric flu deaths for the past several flu seasons. Note that the last green row and the first red row cover the same time period, the 2008-2009 flu season, just separating out the seasonal flu deaths and the H1N1 flu deaths.
