Had CNN spliced footage of a sparsely-attended Capitol Hill rally to discredit the reports of large numbers of attendees to the 9/12 rally in September, conservatives would have rightly howled about media bias. What will conservatives say about Fox News splicing footage of the 9/12 rally into coverage of Michele Bachmanns otherwise well-attended rally last week? Jon Stewart gives Fox News a well-deserved poke in the eye for fudging the footage, as well as exposing rather clearly its source:
All we want is something to believe.
I say that Fox should fire everyone associated with this fraud, for this is nothing less than fraud. The entire reputation of FoxNews is now in question; what credability they had, is now forever tained. So, if Hannity pulled this stunt - sorry Shaun, time to polish that resume' and I hope the radio show pays the bills.
FoxNews has to have a Zero Tolerance policy on this crap; because now they have shown themselves to be as unreliable as their competition - I had a higher opinion of Fox than this. They were number 1; there is simply no reason to pull this crap.
Agreed they are guilty of laziness, at least. But since both rallies were well attended, what would FNC intentions be by using the wrong footage?
Well, the real joke is that the 9/12 footage was scarcely shown on the other “news” channels. If Stewart showed this “fraud” footage on his show, at least some libtards got to see what the 9/12 rallies looked like.
Trying to inflate the crowd size.
It doesn't matter what the intentions are; it's fraud, because they strongly implied that it was today's events when it was actually a month or so earlier.
The fact that they said "earlier" on the tape is insufficient, because it implies "earlier that day".
Just hand them a stick to beat you with, Fox. Why can't the leader be better than the rest?
Hannity's overexposed. His evening show is crap. IMO, Sean needs to make a decision, and decide if he's going to stay on radio, or on TV. Even with his apology last night, his enemies are going to hang this around his neck like an albatross.
I would hate to be the individual(s) who pulled that stunt. I’ve heard that facing Roger Ailes even when he’s in a good mood can be a life-altering experience. But to have to face him when you’ve tarnished the integrity of his news operation...well, in Japan they invented seppuku for that reason. After all, Ailes has to face Rupert Murdoch!
Saturday Night Live was doing skit on FNC. It is clear that media, white house... and stupid liberal are out in full force to try to kill FNC.
If Hannity is doing this than I have lost the little respect I have for him. He rambles on and on and sometimes makes little sense, as though he hasn’t a thought of his own.
Can someone flesh out the “record” of what was done?
Footage from one rally was used I gather for coverage of crowd reponse at another one.
This is unethical, I agree.
What did it do? Make it appear that there were more people? Less people? Or just different people?
Was VH1/CBS/Viacom/Sony overdubbing the boos Sen. Hillary Clinton received from the NYPD and NYFD with cheers at the Concert for NYC a lesser, on par, or greater bit of media manipulation (consider that the undoctored footage aired one time live and subsequently reran numerous times in full rebroadcast and DVD release)?
PS Viacom pwns Comedy Central
I really doubt that this was a concerted effort by Fox.
It may be the product of one liberal film editor.
I agree. The Hannity show is not a news program. I have much the same problems with Hannity.
I rarely watch his show anymore.
It's impossible to be PERFECT 100% of the time.
Cut the man some slack.
From the comments section;
“Sorry but it is true, Hannity has cut specific sections out of Obama comments then attacked him for the missing pieces on air.
Here are some quick video examples.”
Looks like Hannity has a habit of splicing videos. Or showing just what he wants his audience to see.

Other examples of fauxtography.
But it only makes the YukYuk Channel when Fox does it.
I am not defending Fox News and do not find them to be a “conservative news network”. They are to the right of CNN. CNN US is to the right of CNN International. Sense of scale does not make them “right wing” in news coverage regardless of the “other programming”.
Don't they know that they most important asset a newsman has is his loyalty to the truth?
Media Matters (and Joe Biden) have done precisely this to Rush Limbaugh, Bill Bennett, Clarence Thomas and others.
Lies by omission are lies.
When the media runs their daily faxed "did you hear what Rush said today" memos and does not point it out, that too is a lie by omission.
