The Stupak Amendment: Cui bono? - TOM HOEFLING

Cui bono. That's Latin for “to whose advantage?

Please review Judie Brown's piece from today entitled "NATIONAL RIGHT TO LIFE COMMITTEE: THE WAYWARD WEIGH IN. "

Then let's review the aftermath of this moral, legislative, legal, and political disaster and "follow the money," and who received which political benefits from the Stupak amendment:

What did everyone get?

National Right to Life gets to continue to justify their continued existence and tell their donors how indispensable they are. [Even though through commission and omission they deceived their constituents, the amendment won't save a single baby, and the vote destroys the the foundational principles of unalienable rights and the equal protection of the laws upon which the pro-life position is premised.]

Republican Congressmen get to continue to tout their wonderful "rating" from National Right to Life to the voters. [Even though their vote didn't save a single baby and helps destroy the bedrock principles upon which the pro-life position is premised.]

"Blue dog" Democrats got the political cover they needed to vote for socialized medicine, and as a bonus they get to tout their wonderful "rating" from National Right to Life, and continue to deceive naive and ill-informed constituents back in their pro-life-leaning districts.

And Nancy Pelosi and her fellow baby-killing cohorts get their Constitution and Liberty-destroying final takeover of our health care system.

The children in the womb? They get nothing.

And the very principles upon which our form of government and our liberty are premised are destroyed.

“And the very principles upon which our form of government and our liberty are premised are destroyed.”

Roe v. Wade, the gift that keeps on giving to the Democrats. RVW a brilliant move to sabotage the Conservative movement.
RVW the best wedge issue ever.
RVW or how to cause a country to commit Constitutional Suicide.

Which one is the truth. They all are.

It is amazing how thoroughly deceived so many are. When the truth is right in front of their eyes.

I think the Human Life Amendment in the Republican platform has had the same effect.

It provides cover, but does not help us advance the pro-life agenda.

I agree. What we really need are people in office, at all levels, who will simply keep their sworn oaths to “secure the Blessings of Liberty to POSTERITY,” and to provide for the equal protection of the laws to ALL persons.

Thanks for the comment.

I thought I was going to get flamed for what I said.

Not from me. If the baby-killers want to try and overturn God’s Law, the Natural Law, Judeo-Christina ethics, history, law and tradition, the Declaration of Independence, the Preamble, and the Fifth and the Fourteenth Amendments, let them try.

In the meantime, my copy of the Constitution clearly says its purpose is to “secure the Blessings of Liberty to Posterity,” that “no person may be deprived of life” without a fair trial, and that all the States must provide for the equal protetion of the laws for ALL persons.

Hogwash. Even though many of us would have liked to see the Stupak amendment defeated due to a cold political calculation of what it would take to get the entire Pelosi bill killed now instead of later, NRLC was 100% correct in characterizing this as a major, major litmus test vote dividing the hardest-core pro-death Dems from the rest. And it was correctly characterized as a major win for the unborn.

This appears to be nothing more than sour grapes from a jealous NRLC rival who thinks it will be easier to grow themselves by peeling off members from their larger rivals than by winning new converts from outside the pro-life movement.

Either you stand on the principles or you don’t. NRST does not.

The Stupak Amendment is just a transitory scam to fool the Catholics and Pro-Life forces during the confiscation of 1/6th of the US economy. Stupak will be soon discarded by the Death Party after nationalization.

Absolutely. The word “scam” is perfect. That’s exactly what the whole thing was and is.

BINGO

And even if Stupak remains it is largely worthless:

The whole bill and both houses of congress ARE WHAT NEEDS ABORTING.

While not perfect, I think this is better than you think.

See, if you take federal money, you can’t do an abortion. That moves it out of the hospitals.
