A lot happened in the regiments that never got into history books. Its great to read individual diaries of Scottish Highlanders , usually officers,of various encounters with Muslim enemies.

I thought that the Sepoy rebellion was about the cartridges being greased with the fat of cows which offended the Hindu soldiers.
