Listening to the debate on the floor today, it was clear that Democrats considered it a moral and ideological obligation to pass this billconsequences be damned. The leadership is congratulating itself nowPelosi is already the greatest speaker of all time apparentlybut there's a tough rough ahead in the Senate. Pelosi could lose 39 votes. Reid can't lose any. Passage in the House definitely creates more pressure on Reid to get it done, but the slender margindespite the size of the Democratic majority in the House and all the arm-twisting and deal-making (what did Cao get?)has to make Senate moderates even more nervous. There's a long string yet to be played out here, and it's still likely to stretch into next year, by which time Pelosis historic accomplishment of Nov. 7 may look foolish.
Democracy doesn't tolerate wanton ignorance and half-hearted vigilance.
I don't see Stinky getting impeached. But I think we should all send him a carton of cigarettes ...
We've been suffering from the tyranny of the minorities (special interest groups) for a long time. That's how we got here. Congress is uprooting the entire health care system to take care of an uninsured minority.
You nailed it. Exactly!!
Ever heard of an entitlement, and how they’re funded?
Just watched the video. Louise Slaughter gives new meaning to the word moron.
Meet you at Mount Thunder. Scott in ‘12.
...and are awakening the sleeping conservatives who are the majority in this country even more! This travesty will affect ALL Americans from ALL walks of life—negatively. Oh, sure, it sounds great “FREE!!” health care! But it isn’t free—the devil will have his due.
And payback will NOT be what liberals and ignorant voters out there will be expecting when they go to open their paychecks and see huge chunks removed!
When this hits the wallets of America, you will hear a different tune beside the gloating one coming from the liberals right now—an angry response to what these people are doing to this country. And that won’t be pretty.
Well hell, why don’t you just give up and get in line to get your number tatoo’d. shessh the damn bill still has to go to the senate, and then back to committee.
I am getting tired of all these,” well it’s over, the nation is done” types. We have been through much worse and come out of it.
Don’t try will get you a guaranteed outcome every time.
GARRRRRGGHHHHH
The expression is "Hear, hear" meaning "listen, everyone!" not "here, here", which means nothing and makes no sense. "Hear, hear" originated in the British parliament in the 18th century as a contraction of "hear him, hear him". [Source]
Sorry. Pet peeve.
I am quite frankly tired of being urged to thank the Dems who voted “no”. I will thank them when they renounce their party for putting this country on the path to destruction. ALL DEMS NEED TO BE VOTED OUT!

Well , not me. It is the democrats who are COMMUNISTS and implementing bills to take our freedoms away.
We need to oust democrats.
Well, these were the people who told us to vote against Repubicans in 2006 because they were not conservative enough.
These were the people who told us to vote against the Republicans in 2008 because they were not the "right" people.
These people spend more time attacking the Republicans than they do attacking the liberals. I know, they claim there is no difference.
This healthcare bill would not have seen the light of day with an entire congress full of RINOs.....as bad as they are.
Republicans seeking nomination need to be asked if they intend to work for the repeal of the socialist acts.
We knew the Democrats had a decision to make on healthcare:
The first choice was that they could vote for this and sacrifice their seats to further the agenda.
The second choice was to vote against this and preserve power.
They have made their choice.
Tom Perrielo voted for the House bill, after very heated town halls, after waffling in front of voters as to how he might vote, and after the message from Virginia voters this week.
Perrielo's toast, and surely he knows it. What's up with that?
“What the hell is moral about abortion?”
All you need is to not fund it.
That worked so well for Newt . . .Do that, and you will have to have your courage screwed to the sticking point. You will have to actually face down big journalism, which called it Reagan's shutdown when he vetoed a budget - and Gingriches shutdown when Clinton vetoed a budget.
Courageous Congressmen - isn't that an oxymoron?
