POLITICO reports:
Hours before an expected vote on a sweeping health care bill, House Democrats believe they've secured the 218 votes they need to approve the bill, several party insiders said.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi took to the House floor about 6:30 p.m. to say, “Today we will pass the Affordable Health Care for America Act.. . .We will make history. We will also make progress for America's working families."
Thirty-two Democrats have publicly declared their opposition to the bill, giving party leaders the narrowest possible margin to push the bill across the finish line. But numerous sources said Democrats believe they do have the votes after a day of intense lobbying of wavering Democrats.
IF the bill gets to conference, the Stupak language will be stripped, causing havoc for the RATS. This was a long term strategic move.
They are something else..yelling and shouting. Its almost comical..but the republicans are really pissing them off.

The suck up factor doesn’t work for me. :) But, remember most of those catalog companies are not union, and fight the that union fight. These companies are fighting unionization. I’ve worked in the printing industry for 10 years, and they fight it tooth and nail. So, you might be pissed off about their catalogs, but realize, these are capitalists waging a battle against Big Government.
I am reading “The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich”. it should be required reading in High School, but I digress. Some of the back alley deals and political hi-jinks that Hitler used to gain the Chancellorship mirror some of the things we are seeing tonight in the House..
Steny Hoyer nearly burst a blood vessel screaming about the 72-second notice on the Republican’s motion to recommit, attacking exclusion of medical liability and claiming seniors will lose benefits in order to line the pockets of trial lawyers.
and do not think the courts will do anything.
This is a travesty
They are voting now on last chance to change the bill.
After this, they vote on the bill.

That’s my thinking.
Also, I think the Senate Republicans have a multitude of procedural maneuvers available to them to keep this from moving to the floor this year.

I believe this bill violates the 1, 5 9 and 14 Amendments.
They dont care..they dont pay any attention to the constitution, anymore.

So far 5 Dems have voted to recommit!
The minute it gets to conference it will be dropped like a hot potato.
