House Democrats have cleared an impasse over abortion that has been holding up a vote on sweeping health care legislation.
A vote is expected on Saturday - after President Barack Obama makes a late morning trip to the Capitol to make one final pitch for the legislation.
According to Rep. Bart Stupak of Michigan, he and other abortion opponents will be given a chance to insert tougher abortion restrictions into the legislation during debate on the House floor.
The leadership hopes that no matter how that vote turns out, Democrats will then unite to give the health care bill a majority over unanimous Republican opposition.

WASHINGTON (AP) - House Democrats have cleared an impasse over abortion that has been holding up a vote on sweeping health care legislation.

We cannot stop this if it passes. And, they will make all their necessary changes to it's original writing, the parts rejected by the public, in committee. We will have a full blown Government run Health care system in a few years, exactly the way they wanted it. After all the private Insurance companies close down, a few remaining mega corporations (Chosen by the Government) like AIG, will be given the duties of “administering” the Government plan of course.
There, fixed it.
UNCONSTITUTIONAL!
We should file the MOTHER OF ALL CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS!
Why don’t we call them the “Soylent Green Party”
Unless they try to pass it through budget reconciliation, this bill is d-e-d, dead, in the Senate.
It hasn’t passed the House.
Great sign!
Watch this part. It shows the dems shouting no to pub amendments to TRY to fix the ObamaCare monster,
Here is the LIVE stream ObamaCare DEBATE That will start soon. Callers are calling in now.

If people cannot afford COBRA when they are laid off how in the hell can they afford 15,000 a year.
Even among the employed....how will those in service jobs afford that? Walk into any mall, grocery store, convenience store, etc. Ask them if they have 15,000 to spare from their paycheck. They have no clue about life in the real world. None at all.
But Obama is going to play the Chicago Thug, go to the Hill to bribe or strong arm the dems sitting on the fence? If this passes the House we better take to the street in every city across the nation.
I am safe. My rep is not voting for it. But those that have dems reps better burn up those phone lines. Let them know they are out of a job. Tell them it does not matter what Pelosi or Obama promised them...they will soon be unemployed. Remind them, they were not elected to serve Nancy, but to represent you.
You hired them, you can fire them.
But you're so wrong! The "naive fools" are the ones who are going to GET "something for nothing" that WE will pay for.
It's really quite a simple trick, but it appears to be magic to them.
Sure. It can't go on forever. But this country could coast and rot out for the rest of their current selfish lives giving the looters their free ride.
And that's all the timeline they care about.
I doubt they want him at Ft. Hood...........
fwiw-
It doesn’t sound like they cleared an impasse to me. The pro-life Congressmae surely know that they won’t get the promised floor vote unless Pelosi has figured out a way to defeat. Why delay if they truly believe that the anti-abortion language will go into the bill eventually. Pelosi can’t be trusted.
The Democrats are the party of corruption and Islam.
++++++++++++++
Definitely - tell it like it is.
“There will be no Saturday vote unless the leadership feels like being embarrassed on the floor.”

Are you still sticking by this? I hope you’re right.
In addition to sleeplessness since November of last year, I think I am going through the stages of grief. First, there was denial as I literally pulled the covers up over my head when Soetero’s victory was announced on election day. I guess “bargaining” is the endless pleading emails I’ve sent to Blue Dogs and others. I’m also in the anger mode. Well, I guess all that’s left is acceptance, which to me is a pitiful, hopeless stage to be in. For all of us praying people here on FR, maybe there’s time for one last desperate prayer for the Lord to intervene.
I can’t make out if there will or will not be a vote today?
Yes, I am sticking by it.
Provided the GOP are smart (heh), here’s how this should go: On the Stupak Amendment, the GOP should tell its pro-choice caucus members to go ahead and vote against it.
That will ensure its defeat.
Then, we’re right back to where we started with the bill funding abortions and the supposedly pro-life Dems back in the same situation they were in yesterday, before this ‘deal’ was struck.
This deal is weak. They don’t have the votes.
