Krauthammer: The myth of '08, demolished
The Washington Post ^ | November 6, 2009 | Charles Krauthammer

Posted on 11/06/2009 2:21:21 AM PST by Puzzleman

Sure, Election Day 2009 will scare moderate Democrats and make passage of Obamacare more difficult. Sure, it makes it easier for resurgent Republicans to raise money and recruit candidates for 2010. But the most important effect of Tuesday's elections is historical. It demolishes the great realignment myth of 2008...

.......Christie's official win tally was 5 points. More likely Christie really won by 10 points, given the monumental voter fraud Dems routinely use to cook electoral results...............

Excellent point. The dead were voting in Hudson County, as usual. Illegals voted under several identities. The buzz was Corzine was trying to fix the mail-in vote----to keep a reserve of votes in case it was "close."

Corzine’s a creepy little brown nose - he and a narcissist would get along just fine... if only the voters hadn’t had to see it ... Even ACORN couldn’t save that one.

Some clear thinking from Krauthammer.
Krauthammer is a peabrained putz.
He apparently thinks that all the GOP has to do is kick back and let the Messiah screw-up, then the neocons will be swept back into office because Americans have no other choice.

I said as much last November. Charles obviously was reading my posts calling Obama’s win margin a fluke. However I will not be replacing Charles anytime soon on the FOX all-stars. Drat the bad luck. (smirk)

I disagree, I think Krauthammer is one of the best writers in politics, especially lately. Thank God he is allowed to break the leftist monopoly at the Post. At least the sheeple have to see another point of view, instead of passively accepting the Marxist viewpoint 100%.

God didn't get him a job at the WaPo.
Krauthammer is pro-abortion.

I'm not being defeatist, but we had better be prepared to duke it out, figuratively AND literally. That means we must take control of the GOP. The current RINO elite does not have the guts to fight back.

IIRC, Christie (who may/may not be a RINO, but doesn't seem to be a member of the current GOP elite) really drew a hard line in the sand with his comments about having hundreds of poll watchers and lawyers standing ready. Who knows whether he really did, but if he didn't he should have.

That's really the BIG lesson of the last 10 years or so of elections - be ready to FIGHT HARD and FIGHT HARD IMMEDIATELY if there is even a smidgen of hope for winning. Franken won simply because he got the best lawyer from his side involved first, while Coleman dallied. Same thing with Bush in FL in 2000 with Baker and Olsen.

Puerto Rico is Territory of the United States and those born there are natural born citizens of the United States. We’re not invaders.

"Some clear thinking from Krauthammer"

Not hardly.

Willie Green has got it mostly right in #24 when he says "neocon"

Obviously there would numerous reasons, but the main reason for the GOP bloodbaths of 06 and 08 was Iraq, which was put on by the NeoCons. And Kraut is one of the top Neocon media mouthpieces.

But where Willie has it wrong when he says, "kick back...........and swept back into power.

The NeoCons are not kicked back, they are strongly putting everything they have into stupid sarah from alaska, who they think they can co-opt.

BTW, the main reason Obama and the dems are dithering on Afghan, is that they don't want to fall into a trap there as the GOP/Neocons did in Iraq

That's what I mean by "kicking back"...
They're not actually DOING anything....
Except laying low and hoping nobody sees them hiding behind Sarah Palin's skirt....
Same thing with the "tea parties".... They're just lurking in the background on those things too, not actually contributing anything, but waiting to co-opt anything that works.
Those lazy leeches think they'll just swoop back into power once everbody else does the work.
And then they'll expect us to kiss their royal butts too....

NO WAY!

2008 combined the weakness of the candidate (McCain), the intense unpopularity of Bush-Cheney and the Iraq War, with a downturn in the economy, and a charismatic minority candidate who was not properly vetted by the mainstream media. The negative coattails of Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld did not transfer to the Governors races in Virginia and New Jersey. That is over. Blown off the radar by the economy, Obamacare, out-of-control taxes, and creeping socialism.

Unfortunately, 2008 was not an anomaly. Rather the anger from Bush mismanagement hastened the natural result of our decision to import people more open to marxism and allow leftists to indoctrinate our children.

Have Conservatives Failed America?
