I wonder if this guy had been drawing the suspicions of his fellow officers earlier. I wonder if PC influences had kept this man from being outted or even being addressed before?

I bet a number of officers knew of this turd’s intentions as a hateful anti-America, anti-Christian, yet, did nothing all in the name of being Politically Correct.
In a normal world, the pig pluker would have been tossed out or never accepted into the military.

I would not expect the US military to admit the base was attacked by Al Quaida. This will become a random act done by a crazy individual. Period. Just like Oklahoma City, the Jet that blew up over Long Island and all of the other Islamic attacks other than 9-11 which, unfortunately for the government was captured on live TV so a cover up became impossible...

Looks like political correctness kept this guy in our military. Retired Military Psychiatrist (Colonel?) Terry Lee just called in to Fox News and said that Nidal Hasan made some very inflammatory comments---"Muslims should be allowed to rise up and kill the aggressors"---(something like that) and that "we shouldn't be over there".
HOW did this happen? How did he get the weaponry and ammunition?!
Now his cousin Nadar Hasan is saying he was a good American but he "has always been a Muslim" and that he had recently experienced some "harrassment" in the military.

Prayers up for the families.
A good suggestion made on Jason Lewis today -- a caller suggested that since this guy is a psychiatrist, with the rank of Major, he may have gotten medical/psychiatric training and had the government pay off the loans in return for a stint in the military. So we don't yet know for sure just *how long* he has been in the armed forces.
Oh -- and how long did it take for the press and the Dems to dig up Joe the Plumber's life story, when they wanted *that*? Surely the government has more information about a major in the Army at its fingertips, than this.
Makes one wonder even more, it does.

UPDATE as of now -
Base is closed - NO ONE has admittance in.
Fully armed troops are manning the gates, watching the perimeter.
People who have been stuck on base are being allowed to leave after being thoroughly checked out, but if you leave, you cannot come back in.

If this Islamic psychiatrist had “issues” with being ridiculed about his religion (aka the death cult of Islam) or “issues” about being deployed to Iraq/Afghanistan doesn’t it stand to reason that he would have disclosed them during his own psychiatric peer counseling session? Aren’t psychiatrists required to be in mandatory counseling with a peer? If he had “issues” at his last military assignment, wouldn’t those “issues” be known by his superiors? If his professional judgment was so compromised by his devotion to Islam, how could he have been fit and of sound mind to offer guidance to other soldiers at Ft. Hood?

Military officials say the suspected shooter at Fort Hood was a psychiatrist at Walter Reed Army Medical Center for six years before being transferred to the Texas base in July.
The officials had access to Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan's military record. They said he received a poor performance evaluation while at Walter Reed.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because military records are confidential.
Federal law enforcement officials say the Hasan came to their attention at least six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed suicide bombings and other threats.
The Virginia-born soldier was single with no children. He was 39 years old.
He is a graduate of Virginia Tech University, where he was a member of the ROTC and earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry in 1997. He received his medical degree from the military's Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md., in 2001. At Walter Reed, he did his internship, residency and a fellowship.

Roanoke Times, The (VA) - Saturday, April 18, 1998
HASAN , Malik Awadallah, 52, passed away Thursday, April 16, 1998, at his home in Vinton. He was born in Palestine on August 7, 1946, and emigrated to the United States at age 16, spending most of his life in Virginia. He moved to Roanoke in 1985 and began a successful business career. He is best remembered for his cheerfulness, honesty and kindness toward everyone. He owned the infamous Capitol Restaurant on the market for many years. Most recently, he established the Mount Olive Grill and Bar and was renovating the Community Grocery on Elm Avenue. He is survived by his wife, Hanan; three sons, Nidal , Anas and Eyad; a sister; four brothers; 33 nieces and nephews; 37 great-nieces and great-nephews, and scores of extended family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 19, at Everly Funeral Home in Fairfax. OBIT - HASAN , HANAN ISMAIL, (NORA)
Roanoke Times, The (VA) - Thursday, May 31, 2001
HASAN , Hanan Ismail, (Nora), 49, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2001, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Palestine January 15, 1952 and came to the United States as a young girl. She moved to Roanoke in 1986 after her husband, the late Malik Hasan , came here the year before to begin what would be a successful business venture for the entire family. Nora became infamous in Roanoke for her leadership in running the Capitol Restaurant, formerly located on the Market. She was known for her ability to keep sometimes rowdy customers out of trouble and always had a warm meal for someone who otherwise would not have anything to eat that evening. She was also a major figure at the Community Grocery Store and in the establishment of the Mount Olive Grill and Bar. She was preceded in death by her husband three years ago. She is survived by her three sons, Nidal , Anas, and Eyad; her parents; six sisters; two brothers; 29 nieces and nephews; 2 great-nieces; and scores of extended family. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Funeral services and prayers will be held May 31 at Dar Al Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in National Memorial Park. Please send condolences to the Hasan Family c / o Community Grocery, 124 Elm Avenue, SW, Roanoke, Va. 24016.

Well, a couple of things become obvious.
1) Thank God he wasn’t a grunt or the death toll would have been about 10 times as high.
2) The guy obviously wasn’t well trained as in the use of firearms and tactics or the death and casualty rates would have been at least 5 times as high.
3) He obviously wasn’t a Ranger or else he would have just used his Bic pen instead of a firearm to achieve his intended death toll.
News report now says he is still alive and hospitalized.
