MEXICO CITY -- Mauricio Fernandez couldn't have been happier.
Here he was, being sworn in again as mayor of one of northern Mexico's most exclusive communities, and he had wonderful news to share: "Black Saldana, who apparently is the one who was asking for my head, was found dead today in Mexico City," he told his cheering supporters Saturday in San Pedro Garza Garcia, near Monterrey.
The problem was that the barefoot, blindfolded corpse of "Black Saldana" -- whose real first name is Hector -- wasn't found for another 3½ hours, according to Mexico City prosecutors. And he wouldn't be identified for two days.
Now this cartel-plagued nation, usually nonchalant about a spate of kidnappings, extortion and executions, is engrossed with this not-so-straighforward murder that links drug lords and politicians.
The mayor is facing tough questions about the killings: How did he know his nemesis was dead before the authorities apparently did? Does he have associations with the cartel that may have killed the men?

“Coming soon to an Amexican barrio near you, thanks to our open border traitors.”
Amen!
I can’t wait until this is the way things are done in the USSA.
Post of the day on this thread and it was the first one! LOL
For some reason this reminds me of the Vince Foster case.
Well, better late than never.
Oops is right. So has the investigation started with this fool? I thought not.
The mayor may be linked to the cartel, which planned on killing a rival cartel member but couldn’t find him “in time.”
The prosecutors “investigating” may also be on the take (given the history of previous “investigations”) or under pressure to not look very hard.
It would be comical if it were not so true and so deadly.
Its just a technicality.
Proof yet again that Mexico is a toilet.
Psychic abilities are good things to have, right?
This Mayor had a price on his head from the cartel. Maybe... he found a way to beat this clown to the punch. I’m just putting that out there. Is he shady? More than likely, but there are some good honest people in Mexico trying at risk to their own lives and the lives of their families to get rid of these murderous cartels. He could very well be one of the good guys. If he is one of the good guys, and he managed to beat the cartel to the punch, I say good on him!
I imagine being a politican in Mexico could get your life insurance cancelled.
When I read this, the only thing that came to mind was Scooby Doo saying “Rut Ro” LOL>
