The Diebold machines got rid of a little too much vote fraud for the local Democrat bosses’ liking.

Definitely! The drumbeat against them was absolutely because of the lack of ability to cheat easily. I have been an election judge for ten years and know that it is still possible to cheat on the Diebold machines, but it is not done by software. Actual judges could vote actual ballots in a precinct where there are no republican officials. (Such precincts exist in Maryland.) But it is rare, and would not result in too much ballot ‘fixing.’
Just curious, did you see anything/anyone unusual around your polling place? Like an ACORN or SEIU member bullying old ladies?
Do teachers and janitors count? If not, then no. Like I mentioned earlier, I am in southern NJ with more Conservatives. I was hoping to see an Acorn, Tides or Seiu RAT because I have been bottling in a lot of anger lately

In Fairfax County, I was handed a paper ballot, then I asked if I could use the electronic ballot. No problem. They kept the paper ballot and sent me to the machine.

I think it was because they found out it did not change outcomes for them.
Remember, it was DEMS who screamed about outdated paper, etc, and demanded computers. Then they about-faced (again) when that still didn’t win them close elections.
I don’t know what’s wrong with straight-up paper ballots. I’d prefer them, because I don’t trust electronic media not to erase memory of my vote and be identifiable, either.
No option here in Fairfax. Paper ballot only, which is a real change. I was #215 at 11AM. I checked back at 1:45 and the number was 615 plus there are 180 absentee ballots out of a total of 2,500 registered voters. So turnout is pretty good when you consider the after work rush.
NJ, the cesspool state. I just can't see Corzine losing the cesspool state.

Keep up the prayers and hard work. I, for one, cannot WAIT until tonight to watch the election returns. I love being able to watch Michael Barone and Brit Hume on election nights - I’m not counting any chickens, but tonight feels like a good one.....

who needs turnout when dems have all the ballots they need in closets, car trunks, basements etc.? they simply need a final total on how many they need before they strike..
After that Lautenberg fiasco, it is hard to have much hope.

In the unlikely event that the voting machines in your precinct malfunction and are shut down — all Hoffman supporters should request an emergency paper ballot.

Voted in Merrifield VA today (N VA, leans to the left of N Korea, but to the right of Arlington). Turnout has been very light all day (a good sign). When I was there, no one took a dem sample ballot. Big contrast to a year ago — long lines of obvious Obama voters.
