Good NY mayor....may be good NY governor. Still not a conservative.
Are you interested in having Hoffman win?
Just curious. Because if you ARE interested in having the conservative win, then Rudy's endorsement in the state of NY is a good thing.
Exactly.
I'm guilty of being somewhat more tolerant of RINOs than others here -- if they know their place. And that place is in liberal states or district where there's no hope of electing a conservative. I was delighted at Rudy's tenure as NYC mayor, and would welcome his candidacy for NY governor (which of course is much more liberal as a whole than is NY 23), but I worked against his presidential run, and would again in the unlikely event of a repeat.
Giuliani was not conservative in most areas, including some very important to me (he’s not pro-life, for example), but he did do a good job getting NYC shaped up after the depredations of years of liberals.
Take what you can get. If he’s supporting Hoffman, this is a good sign, because it means that maybe even some liberal-leaning GOPers (who weren’t necessarily RINOs but weren’t conservative, either) are beginning to see the handwriting on the wall.
Also, maybe this is the beginning of the groundswell that will get Obama out or neutralize him.
True, but better 60% right than 4% right, and some NY GOP folks have a tendency to get better with age; McHugh and King come to mind.
