Consequently, I hereby release those individuals who have endorsed and supported my campaign to transfer their support as they see fit to do so. I am and have always been a proud Republican. It is my hope that with my actions today, my party will emerge stronger and our district and our nation can take an important step towards restoring the enduring strength and economic prosperity that has defined us for generations."

This is huge! It validates those who supported Hoffman, and those who supported Scozzafava have egg on their face.

Getting out of the race will be enough to give Hoffman the seat. That's the bottom line, and that's what I care about. Oh, I agree that dropping out of the race is a good thing for us, but don't believe for a second that this undercover leftist did what she did for any altruistic reasons.

How often do politicians do the right thing? Dede Scozzafava just did and we should not gloat. Hoffman should have gotten the nomination anyway and now he has it because if he wins he will caucus with the Republicans

Scozzafava has shown pure class by leaving the race. My guess is some senior Republicans advised her it was best to end her race
