Two months ago, the blog Jumping in Pools, which has been banned from FR for its chain-yanking postings of bogus news stories, posted a bogus story about Time magazine writer Joe Klein supposedly reporting on Barack Obama's writings at Columbia University about the Constitution.
Apparently without doing any research to see if Klein had actually written such an article, respected sites including American Thinker and Pajamas Media got all excited about the story and reported it today as if it were true.
They apparently hadn't noticed there was no source link at Jumping in Pools back to the supposed Joe Klein article. A search of the web produced no original source. A search of Time magazine for the term "Aristocracy Reborn", the supposed title of Obama's paper, returned this message: "Your search produced no results."
Rush (interestingly enough) reported that earlier tape recording as well.
Ain't no thang though. We know Obama is basically little more than an empty suit ~
I wonder if the Whitehouse is dumb enough to take the bate. If they use this to attack conservative media as saying that all they talk a bout are falsehoods they step into the trap.
Because the only logical response is, OK then why havent you released the real transcript?
Have heard it several time. BTW, do you hear a “whiter” vice than the one he is using now. My take is that this is a guy raised “white” who has had to learn to talk “black.”
Since Limbaugh read the story on the air, people on the Left will accuse Limbaugh of doing what the MSM reporters did to him regarding the racists quotes.
The big difference, of course, is that what was said about this hoax was not racism. And Obama is not going to lose a business opportunity over it.

Hell yes, it should change!!
Right is right....and wrong is wrong. At least in my world.
OK, but we don’t live in “your world” we line in “their” world.
Do you realize how much money and effort it takes to convince people to vote for liberals? Dozens of full time networks and newspapers and websites. Yet conservatives claim only one portion of one cable network and AM radio, get that, AM radio! And a few conservative websites! (Chief amongst them FreeRepublic.)
The “rules” that I was referring to were those that allow Republicans to get scrutinized. That’s fine. Democrats are not going to be scrutinized by Democrats. The press IS Democrats. Our problem, and the reason for this thread, is to complain about Dems “getting away with it”.
My take is that Dems report good things about Dems. (I’m shocked that people would think that unusual.) Republicans need to do no more than “speak truth to power”. We just need to be certain that what we speak is actually “truth”.
We have to live under a different set of rules. Thats not new. And thats not going to change. And it shouldnt change!
And I totally disagree....it SHOULD change!
You apparently? think it shouldn't.
I can't fathom that....
What I picked up on was that he must have pulled this from one of the speeches made by Theodore Bilbo or one of the Longs.
You just substitute "the N-word" for "Republican" or "the other sie" in all his nasty speeches and there it is. Sounds so terribly pre-civil rights Souvrn and racist ~ has just the right cadence and everything.
It is my firm opinion that Obama and his crowd in the inner circle at Reverend Wright's church use "the N-word" to refer to Republicans, and they copy the styles of old Southern racebaiters to get across their point and get their sheeplike followers to comprehend what they're saying.
This guy is actually no one to be afraid. Just get up in the Senate someone and tell him , with all due respect to the office, to go to hell.
Excellent job! The power of good research will keep us on the straight and narrow.
I apologize for being so unclear. (Note to self: Don’t start drinking before noon.)
I was referring to two different rules. 1) Republicans get scrutinized and 2) Democrats do not. What I don’t want to see changed is rule number one. It was a silly thing to even write down because Republicans will always be scrutinized. I think that’s a good idea and I don’t think that should change.
The rest of my original post was comment on rule number 2 and how that is changing because of Fox, AM Talk and conservative websites. I specifically mentioned Breitbart. It is not changing because Democrats disguised as journalists have suddenly had a change if heart. It is changing because Republicans are stepping up to the plate.
I am not looking for Democrats to improve, I am looking for Republicans to improve.
This thread is about our guys getting snookered by bogus quotes. We have to do better and not fall into the trap of assuming that every negative comment that we hear about BHO is true. That’s been the context of my comments here.
No blood no foul........
