Pres. Obama has described Fox News as "operating basically as a talk-radio format" rather than as a "news outlet."

When NBC's Savannah Guthrie raised [in a segment of her extended interview of the president aired on Today this morning] the issue of White House attacks on Fox News, PBO first tried to play the statesman, resorting to the old dodge about "the American people" being more interested in jobs and the situation in Afghanistan.

But when politely pressed on the issue, PBO didn't hesitate to fustigate Fox.

Ya know, I hate to bring this up. But B.O. does what Klintoon used to do, and that is to really pour it on thick to female reporters. As a female myself, watching her question him is just off-putting. You know before the first word is uttered that he is going to schmooze his way through it and try to charm her with what he thinks is his irrestible magnetism. I halfway expected him to say, “Now calm down, little lady.” What he needs is a heavyweight male journalist take him on like Kroft did. (Relax, any potential flamethrowers. This is nothing against female journalists. It’s just an observation about men of this type.)
