'Die quickly' congressman creates namesofthedead.com; GOP cries foul

Rep. Alan Grayson, whose "die quickly" remark gained him much attention, has created a new website based on his meme called "namesofthedead.com."

On the site, visitors can log the names and stories of friends and relatives who died because they lacked health insurance. Users are prompted to enter their name, address, zip code and e-mail address, as well as their friend's or relative's name, hometown and story.

"I have created this project in their memory," the site, funded by Grayson, says. "I hope that honoring them will help us end this senseless loss of American lives ... Help us ensure that their legacy is a more just America, where every life that can be saved will be saved."

Grayson (D-Fla.) announced the creation of the site on the House floor Wednesday using a poster with the site's Web address.

"I propose that we identify them. I propose that we honor their memory by naming them," he said. Grayson wished eventually "that we close it out for all time ... And no one, no one will ever die in America because they can't see a doctor."

The National Republican Campaign Committee (NRCC) quickly responded to the site, slamming its content and suggesting it violates either House ethics rules or Federal Election Commission law. The site links to both Grayson's campaign website and Grayson's official House website.

Co-mingling publicly funded congressional communications and campaign communications is prohibited.

“What is wrong with this man? Alan Grayson's morbid exploitation of 'the dead' for personal political gain may be the most shameless stunt he's pulled yet," said NRCC spokesman Andy Seré in a statement. "Once again, he's proved himself to be an abject embarrassment to Central Floridians who want more than a circus clown for a congressman."

Grayson gained the admiration of many liberals and the scorn of many conservatives when he said Republicans' healthcare plan is for people with illnesses to "die quickly."

The day after he made his remarks, he defended them, saying on the House floor "I apologize to the dead and their families that we haven't voted sooner to end this holocaust in America."

Grayson has frequently cited a Harvard study that claims 44,000 Americans die every year due to lack of health insurance.

This is what happens when the pussy GOP backs off of punishing him (which they did). These monsters become emboldened.

On another note I find it interesting that ALL the attacks that we would find useful against the Democrats, IE enemy of America, wants you dead (via obamacare rationing), are being used by this piece of excrement. He’s projecting all the things his party and ideology want to do to America on to us.

If there are any doctors or nurses here they will get this.

I said his name was Vinny Christine

He was sick for a long time with cancer and did not have health insurance as a result he was placed on medicaid and received sub par care. The pain was so great that he had to have a morphine pump inserted into his spinal cord. Somehow the wrong drug was injected into this pump and it literally ate away at his spinal cord and brain. Please do not let this senseless tragedy happen to anyone else.

“Suggestion: go to that site and tell a story of how government-sponsored healthcare has taken a life.”

Canadians need to be alerted to post on this site about those who died in there country because of government health care. My guess is that there responses would be pulled. So they need a US hosted site of there own to post there comments.

I've never had health insurance and have been to the doctor twice in two years. It cost me $300 total. And I'm suppose to pay that per month? I don't think so. Maybe in another 10-15 years I'll start thinking about it.

What am I saying? It will be FREE by then! Yippee! I'll never die!

I meant to say that I’ve been to the doctor twice in TEN years. (Too eager to make a smart-ass comment.)

I bet the names of the dead killed by illegal aliens far exceeds those dying due to no coverage lack of healthcare.

To simplify a math example: If America has 300 million residents, and everyone of them lived for 100 years each, then 3 million people would die in the course of every year (as they hit age 101).

No matter what doctors and hospitals or lack of, did to them, that many Americans will leave the earth every year. That means thousands die every day across our country.

That is a lot of stories from which the sob sisters of socialism can pull some tragic stories.

The fact that more than 250 million Americans do not want more government involvement in their particular supply of medical care does not count for anything in today’s tyrannical offensive push by the media/government complex.

You just gotta love loud, smug New Yorkers that show up and are the congressman from your district in a couple days.

Well, you need to wish that he is defeated in the next election first. Then it's no longer a crime to wish...figuratively or not...
