After another round of attacks from the White House, this time from higher levels of the Obama administration, Brit Hume, a senior political analyst for Fox News, went to bat for his network.
On the Oct. 19 broadcast of Fox News Channel's "Special Report with Bret Baier," Hume gave his best effort to rationalize why White House Chief of Staff Rahm and Obama Senior Advisor David Axelrod used two Sunday morning news show appearances to beat up on the highly rated news channel. According to Hume, it was because they disapproved of the stories his channel broke over the last few months.
"It is a little hard to discern a strategy behind the White House campaign of criticism of Fox News unless it's simply this - an attempt to quarantine Fox and thereby discourage other media outlets from following up stories did originate here," Hume said. "The White House is clearly stung by the revelations about former aid Van Jones. He turned out to have harbored views that were out there where the buses don't run and he was forced to resign. And the White House could not much have cared for the hidden camera expose of ACORN - an organization with which the president had a past association and one whose voter registration drives have benefited the Democratic Party."

Thank goodness there are still a few men in the media brave enough to speak the truth.
Think it is past time for the Right to respond in kind to the 'Left'. Name the target and disarm - with denigrating names (they pull out 'birthers; truthers' etc); isolate-target-attack.
'Sock puppets', 'minions'; State Media; Obamamedia. . .so named and called - and all challenged, over and over. . .
The 'pat on the head' was nice from Brit; but they need to 'named'.
CNN: "We LIKE IT!"
NBC: "It makes us feel sexy."
CBS: "Ohhh God, OOOOoooooohhh baby, yeahhhhh...."
ABC: "We aren't doing NEARLY enough to cover up for Obama!"
NYT: ":) :) :)"
Hard to believe Beckel could persuade anyone. Every time I see that guy all I can think about is the episode a while back where he paid a prostitute with a check that bounced......
She’s writing a book and she knows the idiots she writes for don’t have money to buy it so she is throwing us a bone so we may consider buying her book.
The attacks on Fox News and talk radio are part of an orchestrated campaign by the Obama administration to control the media. By branding Fox as too opinionated and not “news” is going to be used as a reason why some type of fairness doctrine should be put in place. The same for talk radio.
>>Brit Hume Asks How CNN, Others ‘Like Being Patted on the Head & Given the Seal of Approval’ by W.H.<<
About as much as state legislators when pay day comes from Versailles.
Tucker’s terrific now, on Fox. I confess I didn’t watch him much on CNN, because... we... who can watch CNN? And now John Stossel’s on Fox.
Bob Beckel had an excellent point, which highlights the O-House’s arrogance, talking about the Fox News audience: “We need *these votes - we already have the others.”
Not to mention that First Amendment thing...
And while I’m at it, bravo to Jake Tapper.
I *loved* that! (wrote it down, too.)
Hell, I remember Beckel from 2000, trying to flip any “faithless electors.” I still can’t forgive that. But we know enough to listen to the left when they’re telling 0 how he’s screwing up.
Control of the message and the media is the primary weapon in a tyrant’s arsenal.
After the MSM’s about face regarding support of FOX over the “pool” reporter stuff, I couldn’t help but wonder if the media got a sudden reality check regarding Hume’s statement, “... being patted on the head ...”.
“ACORN”
I think the government restored their funding today.
I’m sure Brit’s remarks made a mark. He has a long-standing and excellent reputation.
Good!
How about:
“KEEP THE GOVERNMENT OUT OF OUR NEWSROOMS!”
