Rescuers are tracking and chasing a "homemade flying saucer" that is in flight with a 6-year-old, by himself, on board.
The incident started this morning in Fort Collins when the boy got into the balloon-like device, which was built by an adult, and it came loose from a tether, according to the Larimer County Sheriff's Office.
The contraption could rise as high as 10,000 feet, the sheriff's office said.
The home-made flying saucer was last seen in flight over Weld County.
The sheriff's office is working the Federal Aviation Administration to determine how to best get the boy down.

Murder your son, then launch a balloon in air and claim the kid is inside knowing that the cops and media will find it empty and assume the tyke fell out somewhere and got stuck in a tree? I guess stranger things have happened.
Here’s what doesn’t make sense. How did the balloon get loose to begi with? Obviously people were saying that was odd.
A more plausible scenario is it’s a publicity stunt gone wrong. Or something happened to the boy and they are covering it up.
Obviously it could be what they are saying it is, but then there are some things that still need to be answered before I accept the current story.
He “fell out” when it was sitting on the ground.
His weight was holding it on the ground after the tether was released.
He’ll show up
OTOH, the older brother said he SAW him crawl into the balloon before it took off.

Guy on Hannity (Ron from Long Island), said if he were a kid, he would be hiding, thinking his parents were mad because the balloon took off?
(If he released it or not, they may have thought he released it?)

I bet the kid let the balloon go, and went and hid because he was afraid he’d get in trouble.
This is all so sad ...
He could have fallen out at the very beginning, before the news cameras were on it.
Or else he was never in there at all.
Why did this land so rapidly when there was nobody inside?

No..they werent filming since it started. Now they say this thing that landed was only cardboard with a door. There are pegs on the bottom so now the news people wonder if something was attached to that..so they need to find out from the parents.
